LONG PINE - Graveside services for Elva I. McCullough, 94, of Long Pine will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Grandview cemetery in Long Pine. Visitation will be at Hoch Funeral Home in Ainsworth until service time.
She died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, at Rock County Hospital.
LaVae Svitak
CLARKSON - Services for LaVae Svitak, 75, Clarkson, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Clarkson with burial in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be at the church Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m., and resume at 9 a.m. Saturday. Miller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Clarkson.
Hilbert Libengood
Services for Hilbert C. Libengood, 88, Norfolk, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Home for Funerals with burial in Pleasant View cemetery at Winside. Visitation will be one hour before service at the funeral home.
He died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006, at Beverly Healthcare in Norfolk.
Hilbert was born on Aug. 25, 1917, in Wayne County, the son of William and Sophie (Williams) Libengood. He was raised on the family farm and attended rural school. After his schooling, Hilbert farmed with his family.
On June 25, 1939, Hilbert married
Verdeen Armbrust at O’Neill. The couple made their home in Winside.
He and his brother, Paul, owned and operated Libengood Brothers Construction, which was operating heavy equipment in the construction of terraces and dams. He later worked for Winside Grain and Feed, Bleyhl Construction and Tuffy Hartmann before retiring.
Hilbert is survived by his wife of 67 years; his children and their spouses, Hilbert “Bud” and Kathy Libengood Jr., Janice and Dallas Roberts of Wakefield, Joyce Dennell and Judy Libengood, both of Norfolk, Donna and Lorence Johnson of Wakefield, Norman and Deb Libengood of Crawfordsville, Ind.; daughter-in-law, Cindy Libengood of Hadar; 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; one sister, Anna Sweeney of Wayne; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Larry at birth and Ralph in 2005, and two brothers and two sisters.
Larry Haase
Services for Larry M. Haase, 63, Norfolk, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Home for Funerals with burial at a later date. Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
He died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, at his home.
Emil Hegr
Services for Emil Hegr, 93, of Norfolk will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Norfolk Veterans Home Chapel with burial in Crown Hill cemetery at Madison and military rites by American Legion Post 16 and VFW Winter-Munson Post 1644 of Norfolk.
Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Howser-Fillmer Mortuary and one hour prior to service Saturday at the Veterans Home.
He died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, at the Veterans Home.
Memorials may be directed to the Norfolk Veterans Home.
He was born June 5, 1913, to Frank and Mary (Pavlik) Hegr at Clarkson. He attended school at District No. 20, Madison County. He served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps from Oct. 20, 1942, to Jan. 22, 1946. He farmed and had a tree trimming business in the Madison area.
He enjoyed his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. While a member of the Norfolk Veterans Home, he made poppies for the annual “Poppy Day.” He enjoyed playing cards.
He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn and Lowell Vahle of Norfolk; three grandchildren, Scott of Huntington Beach, Calif., Mark Vahle his wife, Robin of Kearney, and Kristin Prusmack and her husband, John of Woodbury, Minn.; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
The Rev. Terry Buol will officiate.
Loren Moody
Services are pending at Home for Funerals for Loren K. Moody, 62, Norfolk. He died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, at Faith Regional Health Services.
Helen Gildersleeve
O’NEILL - Services for Helen Gildersleeve, 81, of O’Neill will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in O’Neill with burial in the O’Neill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Biglin’s Mortuary.
She died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006, at her home.

Alvina Kreikemeier
OLEAN - Services for Alvina C. Kreikemeier, 78, Dodge, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Olean with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the church with a wake at 7:30 p.m. under the direction of Stokely Funeral Home.

Ada Rabe
WISNER - Services for Ada M. Rabe, 83, Norfolk, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church here with burial in the Wisner Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Thursday at Kuzelka-Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner and after 9 a.m. Friday at the church.
She died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006, at Beverly Healthcare in Norfolk.
Ada Marie Rabe was born July 14, 1923, at the family farm by Ansley to George and Martha (Bunjes) Neuhaus. She was baptized at Ansley and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church at Wisner. She graduated from Wisner High School and attended Wayne State College at Wayne. She taught school in Cuming County.
On June 16, 1946, she was united in marriage to Louis Rabe at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wisner. The couple was engaged in farming east of Wisner. They moved to Beemer in the fall of 1983. Mr. Rabe passed away on Dec. 31, 1990.
Ada was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, had taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school. She was a faithful housewife, teacher and farm manager.
Survivors include children, Keith and wife Linda of Madison, Kenneth of Tallapoosa, Ga., and sister, Martha Ann Orr of Omaha.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two grandchildren and one half-sister, Ethel Popelka.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Bloedorn, Lance Bloedorn, Dillon Bloedorn, Tanner Bloedorn, Chuck Robins and Doug Breitkreutz.
Pastor James P. Carretto will officiate.
