MADISON - Services for David Dicke, 82, Madison, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity United Methodist Church here with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at Resseguie Funeral Home.
He died Saturday, June 10, 2006, at Faith Regional Health Services.
Lucas Doeden
BLOOMFIELD - Services for Lucas Doeden, 18, of Plainview will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Brockhaus-Scott Funeral Home in Bloomfield with burial in the Bloomfield City Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
He died Friday, June 9, 2006, at Plainview Area Health Services.
Betty Lou Going
WEST POINT - Betty Lou Going, 80, of West Point died Saturday, June 10, 2006, at St. Francis Memorial Hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church here with burial at Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be until 8 p.m. Monday at Stokely Funeral Home with family present 5-7 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church.
David Hickman
David A. Hickman, 56, of Magnet died Sunday, June 11, 2006, at his home in Magnet. No services are planned. Howser-Fillmer Mortuary in Norfolk is in charge of arrangements.
Ellen Kleinschmit
CREIGHTON - Memorial services for Ellen Kleinschmit, 86, formerly of Creighton, will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ludger Catholic Church in Creighton with inurnment in St. Michael痴 Catholic cemetery in Hartington. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brockhaus Funeral Home in Creighton with a 7:30 p.m. wake.
Mrs. Kleinschmit died Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at Heritage Healthcare Center in Gering.
Paul Krings
CEDAR RAPIDS - Paul J. Krings, 82, of Cedar Rapids died Sunday, June 11, 2006, at Boone County Health Center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony痴 Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids with burial in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3-5 p.m. at Levander Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids, continue after 6:30 p.m. at the church with a 7:30 p.m. wake and resume at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Erma Kuhl
PIERCE - Services for Erma P. Kuhl, 79, Council Bluffs, Iowa, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Stonacek Memorial Chapel here with burial in Prospect View Cemetery. Visitation will start at 10 a.m. Thursday until service time.
She died Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at Risen Sun Christian Village in Council Bluffs.
Jean Rethwisch
TILDEN - Memorial services for Jean M. Rethwisch, 87, of Tilden will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Tilden with inurnment in the Tilden Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brockhaus-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden.
Mrs. Rethwisch died Saturday, June 10, 2006, at Tilden Community Hospital.
Jean was born March 6, 1919, to Charles and Gertude (McCallum) Carlisle and graduated form Tilden High School in 1936.
She attended Wayne State College to attain her teaching certificate and taught country school in the Dutch Hollow area until her marriage to Millard Rethwisch on Sept. 13, 1939, in Bartlett. They celebrated 60 years of marriage in 1999 before Millard passed away in June of 2000.
Jean spent her married
life as an outstanding mother and homemaker along with assisting her husband in owning and operating the Victory Theater from 1943-1962, Rethwisch Shoe Service from 1958-1984 and the Tilden Bowl with Stanley and Neva Bartee from 1962-1984, upon which she and her husband supposedly retired. But enjoying people, she continued to work part time at the Branding Iron in Tilden for a number of years and ultimately retired to care for Millard in 1998.
Jean was an avid sportsman and bridge player and was to be seen at sporting events of all kinds supporting her husband, sons and grandchildren. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, American Legion Auxilliary and the Tilden Women痴 Bowling Association.
She is suvived by sons, Jerry and Tom, both of Lewellen, and Rich and his wife Kathi of Tilden; sister, Joyce Ryan of Norfolk; grandchildren, Rick Rethwischof Lewellen, Roark and Nilsa Rethwisch of Princeton, Texas, and Cali, Gage, and Luke Rethwisch of Tilden; one stepgrandchild, Chris Dorrell of Omaha; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband Millard; parents, Charles and Gertrude Carlisle; and a brother, Bob Carlisle in 1985.
Henrietta Ridder
WEST POINT - Henrietta C. Ridder, 83 of West Point died Friday, June 9, 2006, at St. Francis Memorial Hospital.
Services were Monday at St. Boniface Catholic Church at Monterey with burial in the parish cemetery. Stokely Funeral Home was in charge.
Memorials may be made to Central Catholic Endowment.
Henrietta was born Feb. 27, 1923, on the family farm west of West Point to Fred and Christina Stalp Uhing. She attended St. Boniface Catholic School. She worked in Omaha for a short period.
On Feb. 6, 1947, at St. Boniface she married
Frank J. Ridder. The couple farmed west of West Point. Henrietta remained on the farm until August of 2005.
Henrietta was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, where she played the organ for several years, and the Altar Society. She was in the auxiliaries of the Pink Sisters, hospital and American Legion. She enjoyed her various card clubs, sewing and baking.
Survivors include children, Florence (Gary) Hendricks of Lincoln, Norm (Nadine) of Springfield, Mo., Frank Jr. (Karen) of Colorado Springs, Colo., Marilyn (Kenny) Dustin of Lincoln, Paul (Jackie), Dorothy (Pat) Burger, Betty (Duane) Luebbert of Omaha, Tom (Colleen) of Omaha, Mike (Tammy) of Fullerton, Don (Brenda) of Omaha, David (Teri) of West Point; 44 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Laverne (Dennis) Wiemann of Norfolk, Rosemary Sobansky of Norfolk, Sister Marilyn Uhing of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Jenny (Gene) Maly of Lincoln; brother, Kenneth (Doreen) Uhing of West Point.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank on May 17, 1989, son James on Aug. 12, 1977, a granddaughter Nicole Burger and brothers Alfred, Cletus and Leonard Uhing.
The Rev. Gerald Gonderinger will officiate.
Ben Sanders
O誰EILL - Memorial visitation for Ben Sanders, 91, of O誰eill will be Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Biglin痴 Mortuary here with Masonic services at 7:30 p.m. by Garfield Masonic Lodge 95 of O誰eill.
He died Friday, June 9, 2006, at the Beverly Healthcare Center.
The family requests memorials to the Shriner hospitals, Holt County Historical Society or hospice.
Ben was born May 10, 1915, in O誰eill, the son of Alfred and Eunice (Polk) Sanders. He was raised and educated at O誰eill, graduating from O誰eill High School in 1934.
Ben married
Dorothy Simonson on April 26, 1936.
In pre-World War II years, Ben worked in construction and during the war built ships for the military in Richmond, Calif. He moved his family back to O誰eill in 1948 where he farmed and operated a trenching business until retirement. After retirement, Ben and Dorothy wintered in Arizona for 25 seasons.
Ben was a member of the Holt County Historical Society, Garfield Lodge 95, Sandhills Shrine Club, Order of Eastern Star and the Nebraska Society of Mayflower Descendants.
Ben is survived by his wife, Dorothy of O誰eill, and their children, Robert (Barbara) of O誰eill and Judith (Norris) Leafdale of Harrisburg, and by seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
