Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at the church with a 7:30 p.m. wake service. He died Thursday, April 13, 2006, at Boone County Health Center in Albion.

Della Vequist
O’NEILL - Services for Della Vequist, 89, of O’Neill will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church here with burial in the O’Neill Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Sunday, with an 8 p.m. parish rosary, at Biglin’s Mortuary.
She died Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at Avera St. Anthony’s Hospital in O’Neill.
Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
Della was born July 3, 1916, at O’Neill to William and Cecelia (Morris) Grutsch. She attended high school in O’Neill, graduating from there. Before her marriage, Della taught rural elementary school.
On July 26, 1938, she married
Lyle Vequist in O’Neill. He died Nov. 1, 1987. They had made their home northwest of O’Neill, where they ranched, until retiring and moving to O’Neill in 1987. Della remained in her home until the time of her death.
Della was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, St. Patrick’s Altar Society and American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by two daughters, Rita Wagner and her husband, Wendell of Elgin, Janice Andersen and her husband, Tim of Carrollton, Texas; one son, Tom Vequist and his wife, Jane of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lyle, three sisters and two brothers.
The Rev. Francis Nigli will officiate.
Steven Zrust
CLARKSON - Services are pending at Miller Funeral Home in Clarkson for Steven Zrust, 92, of Clarkson. Mr. Zrust died Thursday, April 13, 2006, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Clarkson.
Jane Aegerter
Elizabeth “Jane” Aegerter, 90, Seward, died Wednesday, April 12, 2006.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward with burial in the Seward Cemetery. Visitation will be until 8:30 p.m. Friday, with family present 6:30-8:30 p.m., at Volzke Funeral Home in Seward and continue one hour before service at the church.
She was born Sept. 6, 1915, in Erie, Ill., and graduated from Seward High School in 1932. She married
Mervin Aegerter on Nov. 24, 1937, in Seward. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and Randy Nelson of Norfolk; sons-in-law, Lloyd Schulz of Seward and Ken Neujahr of Schuyler; brother and sister-in-law, Dick and Charlotte Besse of Seward; sisters and brother-in-law, Arlene Klein of Sterling, Ill., and Caryl and Lloyd Schulz of Seward; grandchildren, Lori Didier, Britney and Mogdi Nelson, Greg Neujahr and Kris Johnk; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Kathryn (Finnicum) Besse; husband, Mervin; daughters, Nancy Schulz and Susie Neujahr; brother, Ray Besse; and sisters, Kathryn Engel and Barbara Kruse.
The Rev. Bob Paulson will officiate.
Alfred Wehrle
Services for Alfred H. “Spud” Wehrle, 79, of Norfolk will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Norfolk with burial in Crown Hill cemetery at Madison and military rites by American Legion Post 16 and VFW Post 1644 of Norfolk. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Home for Funerals.
Mr. Wehrle died Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation and Care Center.
Alfred was born Nov. 21, 1926, at Madison, the son of Alfred and Grace (Warneke) Wehrle. He attended school in Madison and then served in the U.S. Navy from January 1945 through July 1946.
He married
Mable Volberding on March 25, 1953, in Norfolk. He and his brother owned and operated their own masonry business in the Madison area until retiring in 1975. He and his wife moved to Norfolk in 1991.
Mr. Wehrle was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mable of Norfolk; one son and his wife, Craig and Sue Wehrle of Papillion; two grandsons; and one brother, Leroy Wehrle of Norfolk.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Becky Ann, in 1967.
The Rev. Lee Weander will officiate.
Leonard Bennett
ELGIN - Services for Leonard R. Bennett, 83, Elgin, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Boniface Catholic Church here. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 229 at the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Huffman’s Brooks Chapel in Elgin with a 5 p.m. wake at the church.
He died Monday, April 10, 2006, at the Norfolk Veterans Home.
Beulah Erickson
NEWMAN GROVE - Services for Beulah “Bea” Erickson, 94, Newman Grove, will be Saturday at 2 p.m at Rosehill Evangelical Free Church at Newman Grove with burial in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Newman Grove Memorial Funeral Home.
She died Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at Mid-Nebraska Lutheran Home.
She was born Sept. 5, 1911, at rural Newman Grove to Albin and Charlotte (Wallin) Sandin. She attended school at Madison County District 54.
On Jan. 7, 1933, she married
Walter Erickson. She and her husband farmed in the area for many years. She was a member of Rosehill Evangelical Free Church and its Ladies Aid, the Sunshine Club, women’s clubs and extension clubs.
Survivors include son, Ken (Judy) Erickson of Ravenna; daughter, Karen (Arnie) Bennett of Newman Grove; and seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one infant son and 10 siblings.
