Rev. Harold E. Allen
BERTHOUD, Colo. -- Rev. Harold E. Allen, 97, formerly of McCook, died Tuesday (Oct. 30, 2001) at the Peak Care Center in Longmont, Colo.
He was born Oct. 30, 1904, at Riverton to Benjamin and Elizabeth (Roseburrough) Allen. He grew up and attended school in and around Bird City, Kan., where the Allen family homesteaded.
On Nov. 23, 1941, he married
LoRee J. Heisel at Morland, Kan. He was an ordained minister of the Assembly of God churches and ministered in churches in Nebraska., Kansas, and Colorado. He retired from the ministry after 50 years of preaching the gospel.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, LoRee on July 5, 2001; three brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include one daughter, Marsha Taylor and husband, Andy of Longmont; one son Maurice and wife, Karen of Berthoud, Colo.; two sisters-in-law, Veda Heisel of Lenora, Kan., and Reva Harryman and husband, Raymond of Weisner, Idaho; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday, 10 a.m., at the First Assembly of God in McCook with the Rev. Charles Hooton officiating. Interment will be, 2 p.m., at the Bird City cemetery in Bird City.
Visitation will be Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook.

David Brandl, Sr.
COLUMBUS - David G. Brandl, Sr., 74, of Columbus, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, at his home.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Columbus with the Rev. Joseph A. Miksch officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn cemetery in Columbus.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. vigil, all at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus. Visitation will resume from 8-10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Brandl was born May 5, 1928, in Cornlea to Joe and Mercedes (Deegan) Brandl. He grew up in the Cornlea and Humphrey area and attended school in Cornlea and Humphrey High. He served in the U. S. National Guard from 1949-1952.
He married
Darlene Hecker on May 31, 1951, in Columbus. The couple lived and farmed north of Monroe for 50 years until retiring and moving to Columbus in 1996. He was a member of the church and previously served with the Civil Defense.
His hobbies included C.B. radios, fishing and spending time with family.
Survivors include his wife of Columbus; three daughters, Sherry (Rich) Bender of Humphrey, Judy (Gene) Galitz of Lander, Wyo., and Jolene (Rick) Moon of Omaha; two sons, Tom (Sharon) Brandl of Monroe and David (Darlene) Brandl, Jr. of Columbus; one brother, Kenneth (Pat) Brandl of Humphrey; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one step-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Donna Brandl.
Mabel Moon
OSCEOLA -- Mabel C. Moon, 93, of David City, formerly of Shelby, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2001, at St. Joseph's Villa in David City.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Shelby with the Rev. J. John R. Green officiating. Burial will be at Shelby Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Tuesday at Kepner-Roberts Funeral Home in Osceola.
Mrs. Moon was born Nov. 25, 1907, in Ava, Mo., to Gene and Jennie (Ferris) Reynolds. She went to Peru State College in Peru and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
She married
Glen H. Moon on Aug. 11, 1935, in Omaha. She lived in Shelby and was an elementary school teacher.
She was a member of the church.
Survivors include one son, Roger (Judy) Moon of Shelby; one daughter, Bonnie Gregory of Denver; one brother, Basil (Helen) Hendrix of Portland, Ind.; one sister, Geraldine Gant of Columbus, Ohio; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on March 21, 1972.
Charles D. Ridenour
HOLDREGE -- Charles David Ridenour, 77, died Thursday (Oct. 25, 2001) at Holdrege Memorial Homes.
He was born Nov. 2, 1923, in Phelps County to Clinton and Verna (Henderson) Ridenour. He attended rural school north of Holdrege and graduated from Holdrege High School with the class of 1942. He was employed by Sears at Minneapolis, Minn., for a few years after high school. He then returned to Holdrege where he was engaged in farming until his retirement.
On Feb. 23, 1945, he married
Thelma Marie Bryan. They made their home on a farm west of Holdrege.
He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Holdrege, a past member of the CO-OP Board, and the Laird Township Board.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one grandson, Wesley Allen Nelson.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma of Holdrege; two daughters, Connie Nelson and husband, Wes of Holdrege, and Lori Carfield and husband, Kevin of McCook; four sons, Bob Ridenour and wife, Becky of McCook, Ross Ridenour and wife, Linda of Broken Bow, Tom Ridenour of Holdrege, and Rod Ridenour and wife, Pat of Holdrege; two brothers, Dr. Robert J. Ridenour and wife, Betty of Haxtun, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Holdrege with the Rev. Melva Tranmer officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.
The memorial book signing will be Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., at the Nelson-Harris Funeral Home in Holdrege, with the family greeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Mabel Ronell
ALCESTER, S.D. - Mabel Ronell, 95, of Alcester, S.D., died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at Genoa Community Hospital Long Term Care.
Services are pending at Palmer Funeral Home in Fullerton.
Robert K. Doyle
Robert K. Doyle, 84, died Wednesday (Oct. 24, 2001) at McCook Community Hospital.
He was born Nov. 25, 1916, in Red Willow County to Charlie E. and Lillie B. (Groves) Doyle. He graduated from Red Willow High School in 1934.
On Oct. 17, 1937, he married
Emma Mae Mackey at McCook. She preceded him in death on June 21, 1983.
He married
Mildred M. (Maizel) Holmes on March 1, 1984. He farmed northeast of McCook all of his life until his retirement. He was living at Willowridge Retirement Community at the time of his death. He was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Emma; two infant sons; one infant daughter; two brothers, William and Raymond Doyle; two sisters, Leona Coburn and Velma Ruggles; one step-grandchild; and one step-great-grandchild.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred of McCook; one son, Edward Doyle and wife, Ann of McCook; one daughter, Sara Esch and husband, Vernon of Indianola; two step-sons, Leonard Dutton of Idalia, Colo., and James Dutton of Denver, Colo.; one step-daughter, Dorothy Leiss of Sun City, Ariz.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; 15 step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Thurman officiating. Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation is today until 8:00 p.m.
