Kenneth L. Meguire
STRATTON -- Kenneth L. Meguire, 61, died Monday (Oct. 15, 2001) at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
He was born Jan. 15, 1940, at Stratton to George Henry and Letha (Golding) Meguire. He grew up at Stratton and attended Stratton Public Schools.
He worked as the caretaker of the Stratton City Park for 33 years, and served on the Stratton Tree Board.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Eugene Meguire; one sister, Margie Marrs; and three brothers-in-law, Jim Marrs, Larry Scarrow and Harvey Green.
Survivors include two brothers, George "Whitey" Meguire and wife, Theresa of Ingleside, Texas, and Ervin Meguire and wife, Margaret "Mickey" of McCook; and two sisters, Shirley Scarrow of Oxford, and Beverly Green of Thornton, Colo.
Services will be Saturday, 11 a.m., at the Christian Union Church in Stratton. Inurnment will be at the Rosehill cemetery in Stratton.
Memorials may be given in his name, and left at Herrmann Funeral Home in McCook.

Leland Steensnes
NEWMAN GROVE - Leland Steensnes, 79, of Newman Grove died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at the Mid-Nebraska Lutheran Home in Newman Grove.
Services are pending with Newman Grove Memorial Funeral Home.
Logan J. Nichols
OSCEOLA -- Logan J. Nichols, one-day-old infant daughter of D.J. and Heather Nichols of Osceola, died Friday, June 14, 2002, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lincoln.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Palmer Funeral Home, Stromsburg, with the Rev. Keith Brozek officiating. Burial will be in the Osceola Cemetery.

Carol J. Matson
Carol J. Matson, 58, died Wednesday (October 17, 2001) at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.
She was born Nov. 14, 1942, at McCook to William H. and Neva Wardine (Otis) Lepper. She attended McCook Public Schools.
On May 2, 1966, she married
Donald Matson at McCook. She was employed at Mac's Drive Inn until her health prevented her from working.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, William "Bill" Lepper; and three sisters, Betty Harper, Charlotte Groothuis and Marilyn Shadley.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Matson of McCook; one daughter, Shari and husband, Elias Solorzano of McCook; three sons, Matt Matson and wife, Stacey, Bill Matson and wife, August, and Tim Matson and wife, Bridget, all of McCook; four brothers, Rusty Lepper of Danbury, Larry Lepper and wife, Mary of Henderson, Nev., Bob Lepper and wife, Becky of McCook, and Mike Lepper and wife, Sherry of Lexington; three sisters, Annette Snyder and husband, Bary of Oberlin, Sandra Diederich and husband, Allen, of Oberlin, and Laurie Dybdahl and husband, Sam of McCook; and seven grandchildren;
Memorial services will be Monday, 10 a.m., at the Carpenter Breland Chapel in McCook with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating. Inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may sign the book at the funeral home.

Susan (Henneberger) Glad
ATWOOD -- Susan (Henneberger) Glad, 59, of Atwood, died Friday (Oct. 12, 2001) at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kan.
She was born Sept. 8, 1942, at Atwood to Dr. Charles E. and Frances (Eaden) Henneberger. She was a graduate of Atwood High School and the University of Kansas. On June 20, 1964, she married
Albert Eliott Glad at the Methodist Church in Atwood. She was a lifetime area resident, and a homemaker.
She was a member of the Atwood United Methodist Church, Atwood Music and Drama Club, PEO, Eastern Star Radiant Chapter 229, and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 36, all of Atwood.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Eliott, on June 14, 2001.
Survivors include one son, Brendon Eliott Glad of Lawrence, Kan.; one daughter, Michelle Sue Moses and husband, Ken of Colby, Kan.; her mother-in-law, Arlene Carlson Glad of Atwood; and one brother-in-law, Grant Glad and wife, Marilyn of Atwood.
Services were Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Atwood with the Rev. Wayne Stephens officiating. Interment was at the Atwood Fairview cemetery in Atwood.
Memorials may be given in her name to the PEO, Atwood Music and Drama Club, or the Atwood Second Century Fund.

Doris Elaine Wissbaum Martin
GRAND ISLAND -- Doris E. Wissbaum Martin, 76, died Saturday (Oct. 13, 2001) at her home in Grand Island.
She was born March 3, 1925, at St. Paul to Lawrence J. and Neva Wissbaum. She lived in the St. Paul and Grand Island area until moving to McCook at the age of 12 to complete her education. She worked at Larry's Cafe for many years.
On July 15, 1951, she married
Gerald E. Martin at Oberlin. They moved to North Platte in 1964, and Grand Island in 1975. She was a volunteer at the Nebraska Veterans Home for many years.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Neva in 1973; her father, Lawrence in 1989; and her husband, Gerald in 1996.
Survivors include one son, Rick L. Martin and wife, M.L., of North Platte; two brothers, Larry Lee Wissbaum and wife, Arlita of Portland, Ore., and Jack Wissbaum and wife, Ann of Charlotte, N.C.; one sister, Judy Kulow of Portland, Ore.; one half-sister, Lois Jane Beneda and her husband, Owen of McCook; her step-mother, Esther Wissbaum of McCook; one granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.
Entombment will be at a later date at the mausoleum at Westlawn Memorial Park cemetery in Grand Island.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be given in her name to the Nebraska Veterans Home.
