Teresa (Dozbaba) Beamgard
ATWOOD -- Teresa (Dozbaba) Beamgard, 68, died Tuesday (Nov. 27, 2001) at Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kan.
She was born Dec. 23, 1932, at Stratton to Joseph and Rosa (Chvatal) Dozbaba. She graduated from Atwood High School in 1951.
On Aug. 14, 1972, she married
Rodney "Rod" D. Beamgard. She was a homemaker, a clerk for Bellamy Drug, Currier Drug and Country Classic.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and the Christian Mothers Altar Society, both of Atwood.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Dan and Joseph "Joie" Dozbaba; sisters, Alby Skalka and Alice Kogl.
Survivors include her husband, Rod of Atwood; two brothers, Paul Dozbaba and wife, Thelma of Arvada, Colo., and Richard Dozbaba and wife, Delphine of Atwood; and one sister, RoseAnn Skalka of Deweese.
Mass of Christian Burial services will be Friday, 10 a.m., at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Atwood with the Rev. Damian Richards officiating. Interment will be at the Atwood Fairview cemetery in Atwood.
A vigil and rosary service will be Thursday, 6:30 p.m., at Brantley Funeral Chapel of Atwood.
Memorials may be given in her name to the Second Century Fund or to the donor's choice.

Lawrence A. Jurey
WILSONVILLE -- Lawrence A. Jurey, 69, died Tuesday (Nov. 27, 2001) at his home in Wilsonville.
He was born April 4, 1932, in Norton County, Kan., to Edmund and Geneva (Alkire) Jurey. He attended country school in Norton County.
On April 26, 1952, he married
Marilyn Catt. He worked for the Nebraska Department of Roads for 10 years. He traveled with his family on different sales jobs. They lived in Norcatur, Kan., Wilsonville, Cambridge, and several small towns in Southwest Iowa before returning to Wilsonville in 1972. He was employed by Crownline Plastic's Company. He was a member of a local dance band.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one half-sister, Dollie; six siblings, Wesley, Maxine, Pearl, Lucille, Crystal and Dick; and one granddaughter, Kary Lynn Jurey.
Survivors include five sons, Ben and wife, Kathy of Sidney, Iowa, Mike and wife, Colleen, also of Sidney, Bert and wife, Laurie of Wilsonville, Lynn and wife, Lauretta of Milton, Fla., and Opie and wife, Shelly of Kearney; one daughter, Joe and husband, Kim Helms of Holbrook; two brothers, Lee and wife, Eva of Palmyra, and Roy and wife, Carolyn of Kerwin, Kan.; one sister, Violet and husband, Dick Moreland of Anderson, Iowa; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be Friday, 10:30 a.m., at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge. Interment will be at the Wilsonville Cemetery.
Memorials may be given in his name.

C.V. 'Babe' Fidler
GRANT -- C.V. "Babe" Fidler, 81, died Wednesday (Nov. 28, 2001) at the Perkins County Community Hospital in Grant. He was born Oct. 13, 1920, at Freedom to Merle and Louise (Koltch) Fidler. He grew up in McCook and graduated from McCook High School in 1940. He attended the University of Wyoming and McCook Junior College on a baseball scholarship. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1942 and served as a Navy fighter pilot in the Pacific theater during World War II. He received the Flying Cross medal for his actions during the war.
On April 11, 1943, he married
Helen Cappel at a base in Norman, Okla. After his discharge he established a plumbing business in Hayes Center. In 1957, they moved to Grant where he owned and operated Fidler Plumbing and Heating for 25 years until his retirement in 1982.
He was a lifetime member of the Missoul Synod Lutheran Church, the Grant American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; three sons, Keith and wife, Virginia of Sidney, Mike and wife, Janet of McCook, and Chris of Imperial; two brothers, Harold of Bullhead City, Ariz., and Neal and wife, Bettie of McCook; and one granddaughter.
Services will be Saturday, 10 a.m. MST, at Grant Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert Pierce officiating. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. CST at Memorial Park cemetery in McCook.

Joe Erwin Singletary
Joe Erwin Singletary, 81, died Thursday (Nov. 29, 2001) at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.
He was born May 4, 1920, at Beckville, Texas to Joe and Parlee Singletary. He graduated from Beckville High School and attended the University of Maryland.
He joined the U. S. Army Air Force where he earned his pilot's wings and flew B-17 planes. He also earned gunner's wings; Air Force commendation; Army commendation; National Defense Service; Army Good Conduct; Europe, Africa, Middle East; World War II Victory medal; Occupation and Air Life; American Campaign medal; American Defense Medal; Air Force Longevity Service; Cold War medal; and the Purple Heart.
Following his discharge as a Master Sergeant from the Air Force he moved to Houston, Texas and then to New Your where he worked on the camera and lighting crews of the Today Show. He returned to Texas where he was employed by Tarrant County Convention Center in Fort Worth.
On Sept. 18, 1985, he married
Harriet Cook in Texas. They moved to Nebraska in 1998.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Rafel and James Brown.
Survivors include his wife, Harriet "Pat" Singletary of McCook; a son, Joseph and wife, Jill Cook of Deer Trail, Colo.; four daughters, Linda and husband, David Estelle of Douglas, Ariz., Sandra Geihsler of Bartley; Denise and husband, Bob Speral of Imperial, and Amelia and husband, Rick Marvin of Arlington, Texas; two sisters, Opal Zehner of Dallas, Texas and Gracie and husband, Ralph Hartwell of Fort Worth; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be Tuesday, 11 a.m., at Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte with the Rev. Tom Walker of the Berean Fundamental Church officiating. Interment will be at Fort McPherson Nation cemetery near Maxwell with military honors at the graveside.
Visitation is Sunday, noon-7 p.m. and on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral chapel.
Memorials are suggested to the agency of the donor's choice. Carpenter Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Ida Mary Brown
OBERLIN -- Ida Mary Brown, 85, died Thursday (Nov. 29, 2001) at the Decatur County Hospital in Oberlin. She was born May 31, 1916, in rural Decatur County to Ora Leroy and Minnie Lois (Kettels) Montgomery. She attended Rural Liberty Grade School.
On March 22, 1935, she married
Valti Mages at Oberlin. He preceded her in death.
In 1945, she married
William Enyeart at Oberlin. He preceded her in death.
On Aug. 22, 1966, she married
Leonard Brown at Burlington, Colo. He preceded her in death.
She was a seamstress.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the McCook Elks Lodge.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Valti, William and Leonard; one daughter, Carol Jean Mages; one step-son, Dennis Brown; two brothers, Clifford and Henry Montgomery; and one sister, Lila Faye Montgomery.
Survivors include one daughter, Maralyn Courange and husband, Irvan of Oberlin; one step-daughter, Harriet Jefferies and husband, Terry of Bayfield, Colo.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday, 2 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home of Oberlin with Sister Marilyn Wall officiating. Interment will follow at the Oberlin Cemetery.
Visitation is today until 8 p.m., and Saturday 8 a.m. until the service time at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given in her name.
