Christopher Ortmeier, 24

Christopher John Ortmeier, 24 of Nickerson died Saturday, April 12, 1997 at his home.
Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont. Rev. Frank Lordemann and Rev. Dave Korth will officiate. Burial will be in the Camp Fontanelle cemetery south of Fontanelle.
Christopher John Ortmeier was born Jan. 26, 1973 in Omaha. He moved with his family to the Arlington area when he was 12 years old. He attended St. James Catholic School in Omaha and was a 1991 graduate of Arlington High School. He attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney for two years.
After college, he worked for Thompson Construction Co. of Arlington and then for Valley Corp. at Valley. He was a heavy equipment operator. He and his brothers then formed C & J Ortmeier Trenching.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont and was a member of the Arlington Town Baseball Team.
Survivors include his parents, Ric "Eric;" and Wanda (Spies) Ortmeier; brothers, Steven Ortmeier and Jeff Ortmeier and sisters, Annie Ortmeier and Lindsay Ortmeier, all of Nickerson; his maternal grandmother, Darlene Spies Kovar and step-grandfather, Jerry Kovar of Des Moines, Iowa and a special friend, Rachel Peters of Arlington.
Pallbearers will be Woody Hesman, Mike Grefe, Jamie Anderson, Scott Grafton, Matt Pittman, Adam Schafersman, John Groeteke and Steve Thompson.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Arlington Baseball Team.
Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington is in charge of arrangements.
Lila Pedersen, 62

Lila J. Pedersen, 62 died Thursday, April 10, 1997 at Immanuel Medical Center.
Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date. She donated her body to the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Lila J. Pedersen was born at Herman Oct. 2, 1934, the youngest child of Chris and Ida Vinderslev. She attended Thone School and graduated from Herman High School in 1952. She retired on disability from Mutual of Omaha and resided in Blair for many years.
Survivors include her brothers, Leonard Vinderslev, Chokio, Minn. and Chris Vinderslev, Friend, Nebr.; sisters, Dorothy (Mrs. Harold) Magill, Hooper; Vivian Kraemer, Smithfield, Va.; Darlene Dodge, Omaha; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters and one brother.
Memorials may be given to the Blair Rescue Squad or the Herman American Legion.
Lillian Swanson, 74

Lillian LaVonne Swanson, 74 died Thursday, March 27, 1997 at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha.
Services were March 29 at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church in Fort Calhoun. Rev. Gregg Miller officiated. Burial was in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.
Lillian LaVonne Swanson was born in Red Oak, Iowa, Oct. 10, 1922 to Clayton and Goldie Smith. She attended Fort Calhoun High School and attended Omaha University in Omaha.
On July 15, 1942, she married
Harold Swanson.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Fort Calhoun Women's Club, Past Matrons, Daughters of the Nile and the cemetery Association. She was a member of Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church and was clerk of session, UPWA.
Survivors are her husband, Harold; her sons and daughters-in-law, Clayton and Sharon Swanson; Gregory Swanson and Joel and Kim Swanson; daughters and sons-in-law, Marcia and Mark Graff and Nancy and Mark Prauner; grandchildren, Shelly Swanson, Jaime Swanson, Renee Swanson, Kristine Graff, David Graff, Laura Graff, Stefanie Graff, Paul Graff; Elizabeth Graff; John Prauner, Todd Prauner, Seth Prauner and Anne Prauner; a great-grandson, Tyler; and a sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Charles Davey.
Pallbearers were Steve Davey, Scott Davey, Kurt Davey, Daniel Schneider, John Prauner and David Graff.
Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
SOPHIA MEYER CARR KINSEY
Services for Sophia Meyer Carr Kinsey, age 90, of Mineral Wells, was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 26, in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel with burial in Sturdivant cemetery in Palo Pinto County. The Rev. Don Fawcett officiated with Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Kinsey passed away Sept. 23, 2000, at her residence. She was born in Hanover, Germany, on April 16, 1910. The daughter of Herman and Anna Bormann Meyer.

Dorothy Margaret Hall, 81, of Burwell, Nebraska died Friday October 20, 2000 at the Valley County Hospital in Ord, NE.

Stewart William Kleeb, 81, of Sargent, passed away Oct. 23, 2000 at Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow.
BILL LEGATE
Funeral services for William "Bill" Legate 67, of Elgin, were held Friday, Oct. 20, at the Clearwater High School Gymnasium in Clearwater. Rev. Mike Gardner officiated, with burial in Laurel Hill cemetery at Neligh and military rites by American Legion Post 172 and VFW Post 5287.
HAROLD McKAY
Harold "Casey" McKay, 78, longtime Moses Lake resident lost a two-year battle with cancer when he passed away Saturday, October 28, 2000 at his home. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 1, 2000 at Kayser's Chapel of Memories with Rev. Floyd Wilks officiating. Interment followed at Pioneer Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were in care of Kayser's Chapel of Memories.
MILDRED FREDERICK
Mildred Frederick, 88, died Tuesday, January 16, 2001 at Parkview center in Beatrice. She was born Feb. 26, 1912 at Adams, NE. The family moved to the Garfield and Loup County area. She resided there until 1958 when she moved to Beatrice. She worked as an Examiner at Formit and retired after fourteen years to care for her father. She was a long time member of Beatrice Business & Professional Women's Club. She enjoyed gardening while in good health and later did reading and handcrafts but most of all she enjoyed holding her little dog.
Survivors include: sister, Louise Frederick of Beatrice; sister-in-law, Betty Frederick of Taylor, NE; nieces, Vicki Schottenkirk & husband Bill of Grand Island, and Lyn Nelson & husband Charles of Taylor, NE; great nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William & Mary (Atkins) Frederick; brother, Russell; and a sister, Doris Frederick.
Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, at Cottonwood Cemetery, Burwell, NE. Pastor Marty Robbins officiated. Visitation was at Harman-Wright Mortuary, Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Family and friends gathered at 7 p.m., Thursday, at the Mortuary. Memorial established to the Beatrice Humane Society or the Beatrice Community Hospital Foundation with the mortuary in charge. Harman-Wright Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
RUDOLPH ZOUBEK
Rudolph Zoubek, 88 of Schuyler, formerly of Clarkson, died January 20, 2001 at the Schuyler Nursing Center in Schuyler.
Funeral Services were Tuesday, January 23, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at New Zion Presbyterian Church in Clarkson. Visitation was Monday, 3-7 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home & Tuesday, 1-2 p.m. at the church. Dr. Earl F. Underwood, Jr. officiated with interment at Clarkson National Cemetery.
Mr. Zoubek was born March 4, 1912 in Colfax County, NE, south of Clarkson. His parents were Emil and Antonia (Vavra) Zoubek. He attended rural Colfax County schools and was a farmer.
On February 25, 1936, he married
Helen Hamernik. She passed away September 18, 1985.
Rudy farmed in the Clarkson and Dodge areas until settling on a farm south of Leigh in 1943. After his retirement he moved to Schuyler where he loved to work on his lawn and garden, play cards and especially help his brother Frank fix lawn mowers.
Survivors include two sons: Dennis (Luella) Zoubek of Leigh, and Raymond (Lin) Zoubek of Taylor; four grandchildren: Kathy (Melvin) Wemhoff, June (Todd) Went, Tim Zoubek, Troy (Sue) Zoubek; four great-grandchildren: Taylor, Dylan and Logan Went and Ashley Zoubek; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and sister Eva Tuma of Schuyler.
He was preceded in death by his wife, daughter-in-law Sharon Zoubek, and five brothers.
Pall bearers were Tim Zoubek, Troy Zoubek, Melvin Wemhoff, Todd Went, Dean Janousek, Phil Edwards, Bob Cerv, and John E. Jedlicka.
