Robert Reed, 41

Robert E. Reed, 41 of Lincoln, and formerly of Arlington, died Saturday, March 29, 1997 in Lincoln.
Services were. Tuesday at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington. Rev. Lee Milligan will officiate. Burial was in the Arlington Cemetery.
Reed was born April 12, 1955 in Brockton, Mass. He grew up in Massachusetts, Minnesota and Nebraska. He had recently lived in Versailles, Mo. before moving to Lincoln. He had driven truck for Bell Creek in Arlington.
Survivors include one son, Wayne Reed; his mother, Georgianna Reed; his father and step-mother, Wayne and Jolynn Reed; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Lori Reed, Doug and Michelle Reed, Lawrence and Tamar Reed and Kenny Reed, all of Arlington; one sister and brother-in-law, Allyson and Korey Perry of Fremont.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jaime Reed.
Pallbearers were Bruce Tighe, Randy Jones, Jerry Greenfield, Rod Ladd, Jimmy Brown and Tom Cushman.
Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association.
Golda Wilkening, 87

Golda Wilkening, 87 of Fremont died Monday, March 31, 1997 at the Fremont Area Medical Center.
Services were. Wednesday at Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont with Rev. Leland G. Uden officiating. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery.
Wilkening was born Nov. 26, 1909 at Hooper to Thomas and Hannah (Bishop) Williams. She grew up at Fontanelle and was baptized and confirmed in the Fontanelle Salem Lutheran Church. She graduated from Fremont High School and received her degree in education from Midland College. She taught school in Washington County, Saunders County and in the Hooper school system. On March 29, 1929, she married
Alfred Wilkening. They farmed northeast of Fremont most of their married
years and moved to Fremont in 1974.
She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church.
Survivors are her husband, Alfred; a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Ethel Wilkening of Omaha; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and two sisters, Nina Andersen and Verna Krieg, both of Fremont.
She was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.

Otis Elmer Hawkins, 88

Otis Elmer Hawkins, 88, of Fort Calhoun died Monday, May 26, 1997, at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.
Visitation is planned from 3 - 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Sievers Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun. The family is receiving friends from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. A Masonic service by Solomon Lodge No. 10 will be at 7 p.m.
Hawkins was born Nov. 8, 1908, at Phillipsburg, Mo., to Thomas and Delphia ( Coonce ) Hawkins. He grew up in the Phillipsburg area near Lebanon, Mo., and attended school through the eighth grade.
He was married
in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Almeda Dorn. They had five children.
He married
Dorothy Marr on Feb. 15, 1969, in Fort Calhoun.
Hawkins farmed in the Fort Calhoun area. He belonged to Solomon Lodge No. 10 for over 50 years and was a member of the Naomi Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 121. He was a member of the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church.
Survivors are his wife Dorothy of Fort Calhoun; two daughters, Donna Marie Smith of Buena Park, Calif., and Kit Corwine of Omaha; two sons, Charles Hawkins of Fort Calhoun and Jim Hawkins of Omaha; two step - sons, Jim and Eugene Marr; four brothers, Harold Hawkins of Tekamah, Leonard Truelove of Tulsa, Okla., Lester Hawkins of Belmont, Calif., and Chester Hawkins of Arkansas; one sister, Beulah Tarpy of Peoria, Ill.; 22 grandchildren, 31 great - grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Almeda and a daughter, Shirley Lantz.
Memorials may be given to the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church.
Robert Lund, 66

Robert Lee ( Bob ) Lund, 66, died Friday, May 2, 1997 in Tacoma, Wash., following a heart attack.
Services were May 9 in Tacoma.
Robert Lee Lund was born Oct. 5, 1930 in Craig, Nebr. to Matt and Sue ( Heartley ) Lund. He graduated from Craig High School. During the Korean Conflict, he served in the United States Army as a long - range artilleryman. In 1952, he married
Peggy McMullin. They farmed in the area, raising a family of five children. They divorced in 1972. He moved to Tacoma in 1978.
Survivors are his mother; two daughters, Colleen Campbell of Blue Springs, Mo. and ginger Austin of Blair; sons, Brad of Grand Lodge, Mich. and Nathan of Tekamah; 12 grandchildren and seven great - grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Monte; his father; and stepsisters, Shirley Johnson and Irma Davis.
Clyde Panning, 77

Clyde A. Panning, 77 of Fremont died Friday, May 16, 1997 at the Fremont Area Medical Center.
Services were Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. Rev. David Loeschen officiated. Burial was in Memorial cemetery in Fremont.
Clyde A. Panning was born Oct. 17, 1919 on a farm east of Winslow, Nebr. to Fred T. and Lillie T. ( Pawling ) Panning. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, east of Winslow. He attended District 14 Wolf School and the Immanuel Lutheran School. He moved to Fremont in 1943 and worked for the Nebraska State Department of Roads as a heavy equipment operator. Later he did the same work for Paul Christensen, "Dutch" Schlueter, Veskerna Excavating and others before returning to work for the state. He retired from there in 1982.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont and was a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Survivors are two sisters and brothers - in - law, Beth and Howard Moll of Fremont and Lois and Elmer Krohn of Herman and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Bethesda Home.

Donavon and Brandy Stricklett of Brighton, Colo., are the parents of a son, Brock Donavon, who was born Feb. 28, 1997. He weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces, measuring 20 3/4 inches long.
He joins one brother, Brennan, 3. His grandparents are Chuck and Melinda Dennis of Westminster, Colo.; and Bruce and Chris Stricklett of Brighton. His great - grandparents are Patrick and Janet Adams of Midland, Texas; Frank Dennis of Arlington, Texas; Carl and Mary Cordle of Blair; and Sue Stricklett of Fremont.
Zoe Anne Zimmer

Kay and Greg Zimmer of Valparaiso, Ind., are the parents of a daughter, Zoe Anne, who was born May 15, 1997.
She joins two brothers, Alex and Zach; and one sister, Ally.
Her grandparents are Linton and Ruth Puffer of Herman; and Ray and Ethel Zimmer of Omaha.
