Dorothy Heumann, 86

Dorothy Heumann, 86 of Sidney, Neb., died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 1997 at the Memorial Health Center, Extended Care in Sidney.
Services were Friday at First United Methodist Church in Sidney. Rev. Gary Aten officiated. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Dorothy Heumann was born Dec. 18, 1910 at Benson, Neb., to John and Johanna ( Luschen ) Wilke. She grew up in Benson.
On March 28, 1934, she married
George William Heumann. They lived in Bloomfield, Nebr. before moving to a farm near Omaha where they lived for 16 years.
In 1956, they moved to Sidney where she worked at the nursing home as a nursing assistant. She also worked for 15 years as a teacher's aid at South Elementary School in the Foster Grandparent Program. She had been a resident of the Memorial Health Center, Extended Care for the past three years.
Survivors are two sons and daughters - in - law, John and Charlotte Heumann of Greenfield, Ind. and Bill and Janet Heumann of Sandy, Utah; three grandchildren, Dr. Gregory Heumann and Pamela Heumann Thullen, both of Indiana and Tamera Heumann Walls of Alaska; seven great - grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Crawford of Eugene, Ore. and Mrs. Mildred Coleman of Escondido, Calif. and a great - uncle - in - law, Dr. George Thompson of Sidney, Neb.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Richard; her husband; five brothers and five sisters.
Holechek Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Freda Murray, 75

Freda I. Murray, 75 of Missouri Valley, Iowa, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 1997 at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha.
Services are 10 a.m. at the Church of Christ in Missouri Valley. Pastor Ron Wymer will officiate. Burial will be in the Little Sioux cemetery in Little Sioux, Iowa.
Freda I. Murray was born Feb. 8, 1922 in Missouri Valley to Henry and Millicent ( Starks ) Cooper.
On Jan. 25, 1939 she married
Earl Murray in Missouri Valley.
She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors are her children and their spouses, James and Elaine Murray of Logan, Iowa; Roma and Ronald Beebe of Blair; Ronald and Diane Murray and Kathleen and Gary Michael, all of Missouri Valley; Elva Bonham of Lake Oswego, Ore.; 10 grandchildren and eight great - grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl in 1988; her parents; three sisters and three brothers.
Hennessey - Hurley - Aman Funeral Home in Missouri Valley is in charge of arrangements.
Elma Wehmeyer, 97

Elma L. Wehmeyer, 97 of Fremont and formerly of Arlington died Friday, Aug. 8, 1997 at A. J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.
Services were Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, north of Arlington. Rev. Michael L. Rogers officiated. Burial was in Memorial cemetery at Fremont.
Elma L. Wehmeyer was born May 1, 1900 in Arlington to John F. and Minnie ( Echtenkamp ) Hilgenkamp. She grew up in rural Arlington and She attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church School. She lived on the same farm six miles north of Arlington on Highway 91 for 52 years.
On Dec. 8, 1920, she married
Walter H. Wehmeyer at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She moved to Fremont March 24, 1975 and had been living at A. J. Merrick Manor since Feb. 2, 1995.
She was a life member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Ladies Aid of the church and was its president for two years. She was a choir member for seven years and was a member of the Ladies Aid Quilters of the church. She was a congregational representative for Lutheran Family Services for 10 years and was regional chairman of the Fremont area for six years; was a charter member of Concordia Teachers College Guild - Fremont Area Chapter since 1963; a member of the American Legion Post No. 71 Auxiliary of Arlington for 61 years and was the Legion Auxiliary present for three years.
Survivors are a son and daughter - in - law, Dorwin and Esther Wehmeyer of Aurora, Colo.; two daughters and sons - in - law, Bernice and Raymond Grosse of Cedar Bluffs, Neb. and Geraldine and Francis Tank of Fremont; four grandsons; nine great - grandchildren and one great - great - grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter on April 19, 1990; her parents; two brothers, Harry Hilgenkamp and Harvey Hilgenkamp two sisters, Clara Hilgenkamp and Lydia Wolf.
Pallbearers were Melvin Scheer, Richard Scheer, Marlen Wolf, Dennis Wolf, Delmar Wolf, Gary Hilgenkamp and Rollyn Hilgenkamp.
Honorary pallbearers were her grandchildren, Stephen Wehmeyer, Bruce Wehmeyer, Sarah Wehmeyer, Rebecca Wehmeyer, John Wehmeyer, Elizabeth Wehmeyer, Garlyn Grosse, Ray Carl Grosse, Michael Grosse, Gregory Grosse, Byron Tank, Michael Dillon, Jennifer Dillon and Joshua Dillon.
Memorials may be given to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Arlington; The Lutheran Hour or Lutheran Family Services.
Reckmeyer - Moser Funeral Home in Arlington was in charge of arrangements.

Georgia I. Sexton, 81 of Arlington died Monday, Aug. 4, 1997 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Reckmeyer - Moser Funeral Home in Arlington. Rev. Olin Belt will officiate. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Prospect View cemetery at Pierce, Neb.
Georgia I. Sexton was born Sept. 2, 1915 in Laurel, Neb. to Herman and Hester ( Seely ) Knight. She grew up at Pierce and was a 1934 graduate of Pierce High School.
On Nov. 13, 1937 she married
Earl L. Sexton at Pierce. After her marriage, she lived at Pierce, Osmond, Plainview and Creighton, Neb., before moving to Verdel, Neb., where she and her husband farmed for 35 years. She moved to Arlington in 1980.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Verdel and taught Sunday School there. She and her husband published the church paper. She had also been active in 4 - H work.
Survivors are her husband, Earl; three sons and daughters - in - law, Meade E. Sexton of Arlington; Glade and Toni Lee Sexton of Woodbridge, Va. and Larry and Trela Sexton of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Rosalie Brannan of San Angelo, Tex. and Judith Poppos of Wheaton, Md.; a brother, Harold Knight of Hudson, Fla.; sisters, Helen - Joy Bauder and Frances Murnan, both of Omaha; 17 grandchildren and 14 great - grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Justin Andersen, 18

Justin N. Andersen, 18 of Omaha and formerly of Blair, died as the result of an automobile accident north of Bennington Wednesday, July 30, 1997.
Justin H. Andersen was born Oct. 24, 1978 in Papillion, Neb. to Nicholas H an Lynette L. Andersen. He attended Blair Junior/Senior High School for three years before transferring to North High School in Omaha to complete his schooling. He graduated in May 1997, earning a scholarship from his mother's place of employment (Guarantee Life Insurance Co.) to the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where he planned to study chemical engineering.
He was an honor roll student and active in football, soccer and track. During his senior year at North High, his classmates chose him as prom king.
He did carpentry work with his father, Nicholas.
He was a member of Messiah Church in Omaha.
He is survived by his parents, Nicholas Andersen and Lynette Andersen; his step - mother, Stephanie Andersen; sisters, Heather Andersen, Sarah Andersen, a step - sister, Lisa Riede; stepbrothers, Aaron Riede and Jon Riede, all of Omaha; and his special love, Dana Svenson; his grandparents, Jim and Neva Davis, Phoenix, Ariz; Elaine Andersen, Omaha; a niece, Muranda Andersen, Omaha; several uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frederick H. and Idyelle P. Andersen.
Pallbearers were his father, Nicholas; a cousin, Laeton Boschult; friends, Brian Stava, Josh Flott, Dave Vice; and his North High football coach, Rob Mason.
