Katherine Ethel Rathjen, 98, of Fort Calhoun died Monday, Oct. 13, 1997 at the Tekamah Nursing Center in Tekamah, Neb.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church. Rev. Gregg Miller will officiate. Burial will be in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Sievers - Sprick Funeral Home.
Catherine Ethel Rathjen was born Feb. 19, 1899, on the family farm near the Wranch School in Washington County to August and Sophie ( Gutschow ) Frahm. ( She later changed the spelling of her first name to Katherine. ) She attended Wranch School through eighth grade. On Feb. 28, 1917, she married
Hans Henry Rathjen.
She is survived by daughters and son - in - law, Marjorie and George Flink; Faith Rathjen, Vernice Rathjen, Helen Rathjen; a son, Ralph Rathjen; brothers, Chris Frahm, Otto Frahm and Edgar Frahm; sisters, Helen Young and Edna Weber and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hans in 1973.
Pallbearers will be John Frahm, Ronald Frahm, Donald Frahm, Robert Frahm, John Burmeister and Richard Burmeister.
Ella Biffar, 79
11/18/17 - 8/14/97 Ella Biffar, 79, died of a heart attack at her home in Orange, Calif. on Aug. 14, 1997.
Ella Biffar was born Nov. 18, 1917 in Blair. She attended Dana College. She was owner and operator of Ella's Beauty Shoppe in Blair.
She was married
to John Francis Biffar. He preceded her in death.
Survivors are a son, Steven John Biffar and grandchildren Kristina Marie Biffar and Andrew Steven Biffar.
Memorials may be given to Dana College.
Arbor Dolinsky, 72

Arbor D. Dolinsky, 72, of Omaha, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 1997 in Omaha.
Services will be held in Topeka, Kan.
Visitation will be Tuesday at Sievers - Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun from 3 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. The family will be receiving friends from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Arbor D. Dolinsky was born July 18, 1925 to Alton J. and Alice A. Dolinsky. He grew up in Omaha. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He did furniture refinishing in Omaha.
On April 11, 1968, he married
Mary Jo Dolinsky.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo; sons and daughters - in - law, Jeff Dolinsky, Jon and Robin Dolinsky and David A. and Karen Tichenor; daughters and son - in - law, Linda Dolinsky, Laura Tichenor, and Amy and David Brummond; a brother, Emmanuel J. Dolinsky and six grandchildren.
Russell C. Senff, 37

Russell C. Senff, 37, of Omaha, who had taught at Fort Calhoun Junior High School, died Monday, Oct. 6, 1997, after a car accident near Weston, Nebraska.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Luther Memorial Church, 60th and Western Ave., in Omaha. Visitation with family will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Westside Chapel, 1010 N. 72nd St., in Omaha.
Russell C. Senff was born Nov. 20, 1959, in Aurora to Wilmer and Doris Senff. He attended the Hampton Public Schools until his sophomore year and then finished his high school education in the Republican City Public Schools.
He earned his bachelor and master's degrees in education from Kearney State College. He had previously taught in the Stanton, Trenton, Medicine Valley and Benkelman Schools.
He had recently taught five years in the Fort Calhoun Public Schools. He coached junior high football and junior high boys and girls basketball teams.
Survivors include his wife, Susan; two sons, Philip and Eric of Curtis; his mother, Doris, of Hampton; his father, Wilmer, of Republican City; one sister, Sandra Fairley of Daykin; and three brothers, Steve Senff of Clay Center; Clark Senff of Manhattan, Kan., and David Senff of York.
A memorial has been established. Westside Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Olivia Rose Schneider

Randy and Paula Schneider of Arlington are the parents of a daughter, Olivia Rose, who was born Sept. 22, 1997, at Fremont Area Medical Center. She weighed 9 pounds, 7 ounces and stretched 21 1/2 inches long.
She joins sister Coartney, 7 1/2, at home.
Her grandparents are Paul and Joan Sorensen of Arlington, Warner and Betty Guy of Omaha and Oogie and Venita Schneider of Kennard.
Her great - grandparents are Ray and Rosie Peters of Arlington and Helen Andersen of Blair.
Kathryn Eggen, 87
Kathryn Eggen, 87, of Blair, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11 at the Campbell - Aman Funeral Home. Rev. Kenneth Jensen will officiate.
Hilda Kathryn Eggen was born at Stella, Neb., the youngest of seven children. She taught grade school before marrying Harold Eggen in 1936. She moved to Omaha, where she taught adult education. She later had an interior decorating business. She moved to Blair in 1980.
She is survived by her husband, Harold; children, Elaine Meyers, Denver, Colo.; Eric Eggen, Helena, Mont.; three grandchildren, Scott Underwood, Steve Underwood and Sarah Eggen; two great - grandsons, Alex Underwood and Jeff Weaver; and one sister, Helen Spickler, Brookings, Ore.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter, Tracy Kathryn Underwood.

Emily A. Morton, 79

Emily Ann Morton, 79 died Thursday, Oct. 2, 1997 of cancer at her North Platte, Neb., home.
Services were Monday at the Episcopal Church of Our Savior in North Platte. Rev. Thomas A. Neyland officiated. Burial was in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery.
Emily A.. Morton was born Oct. 24, 1917, to Clyde and Helen Pierce Allen at Blair. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Blair High School. She attended Dana College.
On June 8, 1940, she married
Charles Henry Morton. After World War II, they lived in Omaha, Lincoln and Grand Island before moving to North Platte in 1958.
She was an active member of the Episcopal Church of Our Savior.
Survivors are two sons and daughters - in - law, Charles and Leola Morton of Cody, Wyo. and Stephen and Marilyn Morton of North Platte; four sisters, Peggy Keller of Bronxville, N.Y.; Ruth Tilden of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; Margaret Caldwell of Burley, Idaho. and Alice Busch of Omaha, four grandchildren, Charles Allen, ( Leanna ) Michael, Joseph and Elizabeth, and one great - grandson, Andrew.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, Pierce.
A memorial has been established to the Episcopal Church or Great Plains Hospice.
