Louise Nelson, 94
Louise Nelson, 94, of Arlington died Sunday, Nov. 16, 1997, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery.
Louise Nelson was born Jan. 7, 1903, in Brewster, Neb., to James and Mary Way. On Dec. 3, 1919, she married
Albert Nelson. They farmed in the Kennard and Arlington area until they retired. At that time, they moved to Arlington.
Survivors are three daughters, Irma Christensen of Kennard; Lorraine Schoettger of Columbia, Mo. and Marion Laaker of Arlington; 11 grandchildren and several great - and great - great - grand - children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert in 1959; and a daughter, Madelyn Lallman in 1970.

Wesley "Wes;" Brown, 76
Wesley P. "Wes;" Brown, 76, Blair, died Friday, Nov. 7, 1997.
Services were Nov. 10 at Boyd E. Braman Mortuary in Omaha. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Wesley P. "Wes;" Brown was born Oct. 5, 1921 to Lewis and Henrietta ( Witt ) Brown. He served in the South Pacific with the U. S. Navy during World War II. He was wounded when his ship was sunk in the Lyte Gulf in the Philippines. He was a Purple Heart veteran.
He married
Sylvia Paulsen of Bennington in 1944. He had lived in the Benson area since his birth and they raised their family in the Benson area home in which they lived for 50 years. After retiring in 1984, he and his wife spent their winters in Zapata, Texas. They moved to Blair when he was admitted to Crowell Memorial Home.
He was a member of the John J. Mercer Lodge No. 290; a charter member of Tangier Shrine Roadrunners, a life member of the Benson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2503; a member of the Disabled American Veterans; American Legion Post No. 486 in Zapata and of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 3215 in Blair.
Survivors are his wife, Sylvia, Blair; sons and daughters - in - law, James and Vicki Brown, Elkhorn; Ronald and Debbie Brown, Storm Lake, Iowa; Ken and Mary Lou Brown, Aurora, Colo.; five grandchildren, Megan Brown, Melissa Prouty, Mara Brown, Christopher Brown and Amy Brown; one great - granddaughter, Kayla Prouty; a sister, Yvonne Carlson and a brother, Carrol Brown, both of Omaha.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert Brown and a sister, Roberta Brown Post.
Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association or the Roadrunners Transportation Fund.
Roxann McIntosh, 39
Roxann D. (Rhedin) McIntosh, 39, of Omaha, died Monday, Nov. 10, 1997, at her home.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at John A. Gentleman's Westside Chapel in Omaha.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Roxann McIntosh was born Oct. 11, 1958, in Omaha to Roland and Patricia ( Jensen ) Rhedin. She graduated from Bennington High School in 1977. At the time of her death, she was working as a sales associate at Penney's in Omaha.
She had been active with the youth groups at the Baptist Church in Blair.
Survivors are her sons, Travis McIntosh and Michael McIntosh, both of Blair; her parents, Roland and Patricia Rhedin, Mondamin, Iowa; her grandmother, Doreen Rhedin of Louisville, Neb.; brothers, Randy Rhedin, Omaha; Rick Rhedin, Fremont; and Russell Rhedin, Mondamin; a sister, Tonya Shanno, Omaha; special friends, Mike Sutton, Omaha and Tonia Harper, Blair; her father - in - law and mother - in - law, Walter and Shirley McIntosh of Blair; and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given to the Travis and Michael McIntosh Education Fund.
Rachel Lenox, 98
Rachel Iva Lenox, 98, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 1997 at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.
Services are Tuesday at Sievers - Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun. Rev. Ken Jensen of Good Shepherd Lutheran Home will officiate. Burial will be in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.
Rachel Iva. Lenox was born Oct. 17, 1899, in Ponca, Neb., to William and Hattie Selby. She grew up in Ponca and attended school there.
On Feb., 17, 1915, she married
Richard Lenox in Dakota City, Neb.
She belonged to the Presbyterian Ladies Association and attended the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Frances, Kathryn and Louise; nine grandchildren; 16 great - grandchildren and four great - great - grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; a daughter, June Jipp and a son - in - law, Arnold Petersen.
C. Wayne Miller, 93
C. Wayne Miller, 93, of Herman died Monday, Nov. 3, 1997 at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.
Services were Friday at the Herman Federated Church. Rev. David C. Masten officiated. Burial was in the Herman Cemetery.
C. Wayne. Miller was born July 14, 1904, on a farm in rural Logan, Iowa, the third of six sons and one daughter, to Charles and Anna ( Clark ) Miller.
On Nov., 28, 1931, he married
Florence E. Chambers at Fremont. They lived in the same home in Herman for 48 years. He owned and operated Miller Garage, an automotive service business for 32 years.
He was a member of the Herman Federated Church.
Survivors are his wife, Florence, who resides at the Tekamah Nursing Center; a son and daughter - in - law, Edward Raymond and Nancy Miller of Cleveland, Ohio; a sister, Alice White of Scottsdale, Arizona; three grandchildren, Laura K. Nixon of Chicago, Ill.; David M. Miller of Cleveland; Thomas G. Miller of Denver, Colo.; and a great - granddaughter, Brittany Nicole Lambert of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1919; his mother in 1950; and brothers, John, Lloyd, Raymond, David and Peter.
Casket bearers were Phillip Martens, David Miller, James Martens, Dick Sheets, Richard Thompson and Ernest Alexander.
Honorary casket bearers were Terry Andrew, Frank Korshoj, William Chambers, Robert Chambers, Carl Sproul, C. E. White, E. J. Stutzman and Howard Laughlin.
Gertrude Sells was organist. Diane Sheets was vocalist.

Martha Nielsen, 91
Martha Nielsen, 91, of Scribner, Neb., died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 1997, at the Good Samaritan Center.
Services were Saturday at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.
Martha Nielsen was born May 16, 1906 in Exira, Iowa, to Anton and Marie ( Aagard ) Nelson. She was baptized and confirmed at Exira. She attended Dana College.
On Feb. 18, 1930, she married
Axel Nielsen in Iowa. They farmed and spent most of their life in the Blair area. She worked at Crowell Home.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church.
Survivors are her two sons, Donald and Robert of West Point, Neb.; two daughters, Elaine Kinnitt of Mapleton, Ore. and Janet Storz of Arvada, Colo.; 10 grandchildren and 14 great - grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Axel, in 1969 and her parents.
