Wm. J. Rathmann, 90
Dr. Wm. J. Rathmann, 90, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 1997, at Las Robles Hospital in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
Wm. J. Rathmann was born Dec. 29, 1906, to Gus and Grace Rathmann of Blair. He attended Dana College, the University of Nebraska and graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical School in 1932. He interned in the Seaman's Hospital in Oregon and practiced medicine in New Mexico and California until retiring to Thousand Oaks.
He was a member of The Adventures Club and various professional organizations.
Survivors are his wife, Frances; a sister, Marguerite Dixon; and nieces, Joan Quist, Judy McMaster and Joy Petersen.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Curtis Rathmann and Dr. Norman Rathmann.
James Shamburg, 59
James P. Shamburg, 59, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 1997, at Immanuel Heritage Center in Omaha.
Graveside services were held in the Holy Cross cemetery in Blair on Dec. 12.
James P. Shamburg was born Jan. 17, 1938, in Omaha to Kenneth and Marjorie ( Blomquist ) Shamburg. Most of his working days he drove Taxi Cabin Lincoln and cleaned cars for car dealers.
Survivors are his brother, Kenneth Shamburg, Lincoln; and sisters, Marjorie Sorensen, Arlington and Judy Young, Topeka, Kans.

Robert Anderson, 50
Robert Lee Anderson, 50, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 1997, at his home in Kennard.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Emmaus Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Blair Masonic Lodge, Kennard Fire Department, Emmaus Lutheran Church and was one of the five who started the Kennard Rescue Squad.
Survivors are his wife, Joyce, Kennard; children and their spouses, Jamie and Janell Anderson, Blair; Jeff and Danya, Mondamin, Iowa and Jody and Trevor Frampton, Omaha; one grandchild, Jared; his father, Roscoe Anderson, Kennard and two brothers, William Anderson, Dallas, Tex.; and Jerry Anderson, Arlington.

Gordon Thomas, 66
Gordon Duane Thomas, 66, of rural Kennard died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 1997 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.
Services will 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 14330 Eagle Run Drive in Omaha.
Visitation will be Friday from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home.
Gordon Duane Thomas was born Nov. 10, 1931, in Carson, Iowa to Carl and Jennifer (Jones) Thomas. He graduated from the Carson, Iowa, school system and attended Omaha University in Omaha. He served in the US Navy on the USS Hollister during the Korean Conflict. On Dec. 31, 1983, he married
Paula Perkins in Omaha. He was a television producer/director for KMTV and WOW -TV prior to his retirement. He had also been a bull terrier breeder for close to 40 years.
He was a member of the Platte Valley Kennel Club, the Bull Terriers Club of America, Boy Scouts of America and of the National Association of Broadcast Engineers and Technicians.
Survivors are his wife, Paula Perkins Thomas, Kennard; sons and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Wendy Thomas, Evansville, Indiana and Andrew Thomas, Kennard; daughters and son-in-law, Teresa Thomas and Jeanne and Tom Roubidoux, all of Omaha; grandchildren, Charles Thomas, Evansville; Alyssa Thomas, Jamie Thomas and Marie Roubidoux, all of Omaha; and one sister, Betty Smith of Fremont.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Thomas; a brother, William Thomas; a brother-in-law, Leland Smith and his parents.
Memorials may be given to the Kennard Rescue Squad for a defibrillator and training for rescue squadsmen or to the Blair Small Animal Clinic for an ultrasound unit.
Donald Feer, 81
Donald Alfred Feer, 81 of Blair died Thursday, Dec. 18, 1997 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair.
Services were Monday at First Lutheran Church. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.
Donald Alfred Feer was born June 6, 1916, at Blair to Alfred and Viola ( Phelps ) Feer. He attended Blair High School. In 1942, he entered the Army and served during World War II. He married
Florence Mortensen in 1939. She preceded him in death in 1979. In February 1983, he married
Elizabeth Baliey. He owned and operated Blair's Chrysler dealership, known as Washington County Motors, for 45 years, retiring in 1991. He had lived at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home for the past three years.
He was a 32 - degree Mason and a member of Scottish Rite, Tangier Temple of Omaha, Blair Mo - Ri Shrine Club, Blair American Legion and the Blair Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.
Survivors are his wife, Elizabeth; a son and daughter - in - law, Virgil and Barbara Feer; two grandsons, James Feer and Nicholas Feer, all of Blair; a sister, Edna Klein, Olympia, Wash.; a brother, Kenneth Feer, Bakersfield, Calif.; a step - daughter, Woody M. Feer McBride, Manhattan Beach, Calif.
In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Edward Feer.

Clifford Hollingsworth, 69
Clifford B. Hollingsworth, 69, of Carter Lake, Iowa, died Monday, Dec. 15, 1997.
Graveside services were Wednesday at the Blair Cemetery. Rev. David Ludwick officiated.
Clifford B. Hollingsworth was born April 1, 1928 in Blair to Crary and Dorothy ( Gilliland ) Hollingsworth. He served in the US Army from September 1946 until March 1948. He lived in Omaha until moving to California in the early 1950s. He moved to Carter Lake in 1983 and lived with his mother. He was married
to Dolores Ann Shively.
He is survived by a son and daughter - in - law, Jeff and Bonnie Hollingsworth of Omaha and a sister and brother - in - law, Beverly and Eugene Gilsdorf of South Dakota.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores; his parents and two brothers.

Kenneth Zulfer, 62
Kenneth C. Zulfer, 62, of Fort Calhoun, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 1997 at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.
Memorial services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Luther Memorial Church in Omaha. There will be a private family burial in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.
Kenneth C. Zulfer was born Sept. 17, 1935 in Omaha. To Edith ( Abels and Clem Zulfer. He married
Cathy Monaghan March 8, 1958, in Omaha.
Survivors are his wife, Cathy, Fort Calhoun; daughters and son - in - law, Shirley and Don Knight, Omaha and Cindy Zulfer, Omaha; grandchildren, Adam, Jennifer and Matt and three brothers, Gene Zulfer of Fort Worth, Tex.; Jerry Zulfer of Omaha and Jim Zulfer of Elkhorn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Patty.
