Gloria Odenreider
Gloria Odenreider of Schuyler died Feb. 24 at Pathfinder Assisted Living in Fremont.
Her funeral was Feb. 28 at St. Charles Catholic Church, North Bend, with the Rev. Keith Rezac officiating. Committal was in the Schuyler Cemetery. Memorials in care of the family for future designation.
Gloria Odenreider was born Aug. 9, 1923, in Sumner, to Kazimir and Anna (Johnson) Krula. She graduated from Schuyler High School in 1940 and taught in many area schools, including Clarkson and Snyder, while taking night classes until she earned a master’s degree from Wayne State Teachers’ College.
On May 21, 1946, Gloria married
Norbert Odenreider at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Schuyler. They lived in Leigh and Scribner, settling and farming in the Dodge area. Gloria moved to Schuyler in 1990 following Norbert’s death, and eventually moved to a farm north of Rogers.
Gloria was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church of North Bend, the VFW Auxiliary, Garden Club and St. Anne’s Altar Society.
She is survived by daughter, Louana (Edward) Neesen of Rogers; son Eugene Odenreider of Tempe, Ariz.; sister Adoline Telecky of David City; five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norbert in 1983, an infant grandchild, sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Chris Bell, and brother-in-law, Riley Telecky.
Kracl Funeral Chapel of Schuyler was in charge of arrangements.
Catherine M. Zuber
Catherine M. Zuber of Pingree Grove, Ill., died Jan. 8, 2019, at Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin, Ill. Catherine was born Nov. 15, 1950, in Fremont, to Frank and Agnes (Vavak) Vyhlidal.
She lived in the Morse Bluff, area and graduated from North Bend High School in 1968. Catherine attended business school in Omaha. She moved to Illinois where she was employed by United Airlines until she retired.
Catherine married
Richard Zuber on July 11, 1970, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Cedar Hill.
She was an accomplished needle worker, in quilting, needle point, knitting and crochet. Catherine helped with Quilts of Valor and was very generous with her time and talents.
She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Elgin, Ill.
A memorial service was held Jan. 15 at Laird Funeral Home in Elgin. The Rev. Rosinski presided.
She is survived by daughter Debra Zuber of Ill.; sister, Vicki (Gaylen) Swartz of Malmo; special friends Joanna and Ron Garand of Tennessee; two nieces; one nephew and many friends.
A memorial Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 2, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, at Cedar Hill near Morse Bluff. The Revs. Benjamin Rynearson and Dennis Hunt will officiate. Rosary will be at 10 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at Sacred Heart cemetery at Cedar Hill.
Jim Satorie
Jim M. Satorie of Morse Bluff died at his home. He was born Nov. 25, 1945, in North Bend to Max and Elsie (Fencl) Satorie. Jim lived in the North Bend and Morse Bluff areas all his life and drove for United Parcel Service.

Kim Meier on Nov. 7, 1965. They later divorced. He then married
Connie Bier.
Jim is survived by his wife, Connie of Fremont; daughter Lisa (Michael) Prohaska of Prague; step-daughter Pam (Matt) Shaw of Morse Bluff; brother Dave (Sherry) Westphalen of Schuyler; sister Gloria Wnek of Phoenix, Ariz; five grandchildren: Samantha, Sarah and Cody Prohaska, and Dillon and Brooklyn Shaw; one step-granddaughter; and four step-great-grandchidren; one niece and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service was Feb. 19 at Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend with the Rev. Scott Jensen officiating. Burial was at Killian cemetery near Morse Bluff. Memorials may be given to the Morse Bluff Volunteer Fire Dept.

Ella Tavnicek
Ella Travnicek of North Bend, formerly of Cedar Bluffs, died at Birchwood Manor in North Bend on Feb. 1.
Ella was born on the family farm near Morse Bluff on Nov. 30, 1910, to Charles Sr. and Frantiska “Fanny” (Pallas) Beranek. Ella married
Adolph Travnicek on Feb. 14, 1935, at the Presbyterian parsonage in Clarkson. She continued to live on their farm six miles southwest of Cedar Bluffs until she moved to Birchwood Manor in 2006 at age 95. Adolph died Feb. 29, 1988.
Ella, born of a Czech immigrant mother and a first-generation Czech immigrant father, was fluent in the Czech language all her life, having to learn English in grade school. She also knew quite a bit of Latin.
Ella was involved in gardening and preserving Nebraska’s wild flowers. She had been a member of the South Cedar Extension Club and was a charter member of the Cedar Bluffs Garden Club. She had been on the state board of the Federated Garden Clubs of Nebraska and had been a representative on the Rocky Mountain Region of the Federation of Garden Clubs.
When their younger son went to college, the Travniceks became foster parents to a daughter, Carolyn Blunt, who lived with them from age 7 until she graduated from Cedar Bluffs High School. Another foster daughter, Sharon LeBeau, lived with them for one year. Over a span of 13-plus years, a total of 13 foster children received care for various lengths of time.
Survivors include: sons Edward (Dorothy) Travnicek of Ramsey, Minn., and Ivan (Deani) Travnicek of Albuquerque, N.M.; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. The Rev. Scott Jensen, Fremont Area Medical Center Chaplain, will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Private family interment will be on Feb. 11 at Killian cemetery near Morse Bluff.

Abby Jo Kubik
Abby Jo Kubik of Prague died Jan. 23, 2013, in Omaha after a two-year battle with cancer. She was born March 14, 1995, in David City to Terry and Kim Kubik of Prague.
A benefit was held in her honor last year that the North Bend community supported.
Survivors include her parents, sister Krisine (Klye) German of Lincoln; grandparents Myron and Dorothy Coufal, Richard and Beverly Paseka; aunts and uncles Jeff and Brenda Coufal, Roger and Tracy Kubik, Mike Kubik, Dave and De Hamilton, Dave and Katie Brabec; cousins, friends and her dog, Jack.
Funeral services were Jan. 26 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with burial at Prague National Cemetery.
Memorials in care of the family for further designation. Svoboda Funeral Home, Wahoo, was in charge of arrangements.

Richard Limbach
Richard B. Limbach of Spencer, formerly of North Bend, died Jan. 7 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. He was born May 11, 1935, in Howells to Joseph and Angela (Wieneke) Limbach.
Richard married
Darlene Liekhus on April 24, 1956, in Howells. She died June 24, 1993. He married
Nancy Hartman on May 19, 1995, in Morse Bluff.
Richard owned and operated Limbach Sanitation in North Bend. He later owned and operated L & L Lumber in North Bend.
Richard was a member of the Nebraska Safari Club, Safari Club International and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
He is survived by his wife Nancy of Spencer; sons Michael (Barb) Limbach of Fremont, Rick (Cheryl) Limbach of Valley; daughters Linda Welling of Lees Summit, Mo., Nancy (Kent) Ronnau, Lisa (Steve) Richardson, all of North Bend; step-sons Kristopher (Tonya) Folken of Creston, Doug (Marin) Zabka of Clarkson, David (Tracy) Zabka of Lincoln; step-daughters Kathy (Nathan) Bach of Worthing, S.D., Angie (Tyler) Reeves of Creston; brothers Robert (Audrey) Limbach of Fremont, Ralph (Diane) Limbach of North Bend, Reynold (Marie) Limbach of Odessa, Joe (Carmen) Limbach of Kearney; sister Theresa (Dick) Kruse of Leigh; 27 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was held Jan. 14 at St. Charles Catholic Church in North Bend. The Rev. Bernard Kimminau officiated. Burial will be at the Woodland cemetery in North Bend.
Memorials may be given to St. Charles Catholic Church and to 4-H.

Jason Coe
Jason Coe of Hooper died March 20 at his home.
Jason was born June 23, 1959, in West Point to Charles (Red) and Joan (Weaver) Coe. He was raised in Scribner and graduated from Scribner High School in 1977. After high school Jason worked at the popcorn plant in North Bend. He then went to Smeal Manufacturing in Snyder. While working on the floor at Smeal’s, Jason took classes at Metro Tech Community College, earning an associates degree in information technology. Jason moved into the computer department and became the head of the I.T. department.
Jason was a one-time member of the Scribner Jaycee’s
He moved to Hooper in 2004. Jason also belonged to the LC Forum Motorcycle group.
Survivors include his mother Joan Killingsworth of Scribner, fiancée Robin Lierman of Hooper, her sons Benjamin and Joshua Lierman; sisters Charlotte (Sidney Smith) Coe of Dallas, Texas, Patricia Winter of Hooper; brothers Tom (Connie) Coe of Hooper, Bob (Marilyn) Coe of North Bend; nieces and nephews.
There will be visitation with the family Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ludvigsen’s Hooper Funeral Chapel in Hooper
The memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the United Church of Christ in Scribner with the Rev. Larry Jirsak officiating. Burial will follow in the Scribner Cemetery.

Lloyd Roubal
Lloyd F. Roubal passed away quietly in his home on February 22.
Lloyd was born August 8, 1927, to Frank B. and Ruth (Metzger) Roubal of rural North Bend, Nebraska.
He graduated from North Bend High School in 1944. Lloyd embarked on several adventures after high school following the harvest in the spring then working as a ranch hand in western Nebraska during the winter. He returned home to North Bend to marry Eva L. Flora on August 27, 1950, and farmed northeast of town where he grew up. The couple had five children. Along with his family, Lloyd was passionate about education and horses.
By the time all of his children reached school age, Lloyd became involved as a school board member of District 93. As his children moved up through the grades he became president of the District 95 school board and assisted his fellow board members ushering in the new North Bend Central Jr. Sr. High School.
Lloyd was a member of United Presbyterian Church and served as a Session member there. He was a member of Nebraska Shorthorn Association and an avid horseman, especially enjoying cutting cattle sitting an Arabian. He was known to invite friends and family out to the farm to ride and equally well known for baking kolaches and sharing them with some of his homemade ice cream.
Lloyd is survived by and will be dearly missed by his wife of 63 years, Eva Roubal; a son, Phil and Karen Roubal of North Bend; two daughters, Susan Roubal and Lori Sippel, Alane Roubal Vaughn and husband Doug all of Lincoln; son-in-law Ken Yount of Fremont; two sisters Aurzella Thiesen of Cedar Bluffs and Marie Petersen of Fremont; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Dorothy Harrison; and two daughters, Joan Okins and Betty Yount.
Visitation will be held at Moser Funeral Home in North Bend from 4 to 8 p.m. Feb. 26 with the family receiving visitors from 6 to 8 p.m.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Feb. 27 at the United Presbyterian Church in North Bend with the Rev. Neal Allen officiating followed by grave side services at Woodland Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the United Presbyterian Church or the NBC Foundation.
