Dale Adams
Dale L. Adams, of Morse Bluff, formerly of the Fremont, died Oct. 2 at his home. He was born August 21, 1934, in Schuyler to Lewis and Helen (Briard) Adams.
He grew up in Madison and graduated from high school there. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from Dec. 11, 1952, to June 30, 1954.
Dale married
Shirley Larsen on Dec. 15, 1968, in Blair. She passed away in April of 1994. He lived in Washington state and Fremont before moving to Morse Bluff in 2006. Dale was employed by Lyman Richey Sand and Gravel for 25 years.
Dale was a member of VFW Post 8223 and AmVets Post 20 of North Bend and American Legion Post 340 of Morse Bluff.
Survivors include his fiancée, Margi McPherson of Morse Bluff and her son, Wade (Marsha) McPherson of Fremont; sons, Tom (Connie) Adams of Tacoma, Wash., Michael Adams, Fremont; daughters, Mary (Fred) Barr of Vancouver, Wash., Susan (Gary) Hand of Fremont; sisters, Mary Canuteson, Katherine Jaton, both of Texas, Eleanor Clark of Hooper, Jeanette (Bob) Cannon, Gloria Kopeland, all of Texas; 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held October 8 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Chaplain James Jost of Gentiva Hospice officiated. Burial was at Memorial Cemetery, Fremont, with Military Honors conducted by VFW Post 8223, AmVets Post 20 of North Bend and American Legion Post 340 of Morse Bluff.

Diane Limbach
Diane Lynn Limbach of North Bend died Sept. 27 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.
Diane was born April 28, 1947, in Wahoo to Malvin and Inez (Swanson) Moody. She grew up in Malmo and graduated from Weston High School. Diane married
Ralph G. Limbach on March 14, 1969, in Schuyler. After marriage they moved to North Bend.
Diane was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in North Bend and a member of V.F.W. women’s Auxiliary of North Bend.
She is survived by sons Dean (Kristine) Limbach of Bennington, and Daryl (fiancée Kerri Nelson) of Lincoln; daughter Brenda (Jonathan) Beckom of Wake Forest, NC; brother William (Oletha) Moody of Liberal Kan.; sister Beverly Dauber of Greensberg, Kan.; and five grandchildren.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph; grandson, Conner Limbach; two sisters and two brothers.
Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at St. Charles Catholic Church in North Bend. Father Donald Cleary will officiate. Vigil Service was 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend. Burial will be at Woodland cemetery in North Bend.

Adolph Nemec
Adolph J. Nemec of Prague died Sept. 24 at the Butler County Health Care Center in David City.
Adolph was born Jan. 27, 1923, on his farm four miles north of Prague to Vaclav and Marie (Hobza) Nemec. He attended St. John’s Catholic Grade School and graduated from Prague Public High School. Adolph married
Gladys Novak on Sept. 8, 1953, at Assumption Catholic Church in Dwight. He farmed with his father.
Adolph served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He attended the UNL College of Agriculture and received an Associate Degree in general agriculture. He played tenor saxophone for various bands and started his own band, the Adolph Nemetz Orchestra, and led it for 34 years. He worked for the USDA for 50 years from 1963 in the research service division, serving as district supervisor for southeast Nebraska 17-county district.
He was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Cedar Hill; a CCD teacher; and an installed lector and acolyte. Adolph was also a member of Knights of Columbus St. Thomas Aquinas Council #3736, served as Grand Knight and was also a 4th Degree Knight. He was member of the Catholic Workman/FCSLA branch #55 and state president of Catholic Workman for 16 years. Adolph belonged to the Prague American Legion Post #254. He was executive officer for the Bishop Neumann band boosters for several years. He was founder of Prague Czech Brass Band and founder of Nebraska Czechs of Prague, member of the Lincoln Musicians Union and past president of District 51 school board for many years. He was inducted into the Polka Hall of Fame. He received the Pioneer Farm Family Award in 1986. Adolph farmed and was the owner of the Kolach Korner in Prague.
Adolph is survived by wife Gladys; children Deborah (Steven) Steager of Fremont, Monsignor Joseph Nemec of Lincoln, Cynthia (Timothy) Werner of Lincoln, Constance (Mark) Rosno of Sioux City, IA, Jim (Lynn) Nemec of Morse Bluff, Virginia (Daryl) Braunsroth of Wahoo, Mark Nemec of Prague, Laura (Todd) Minchow of Lincoln, Kristina (Kevin) Fitzpatrick of Lincoln; 30 grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
Mass of Christian Burial was Sept. 27 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Cedar Hill near Morse Bluff with burial at Cedar Hill cemetery near Morse Bluff. Military graveside services were conducted.
A memorial Mass was celebrated on Sept. 30 at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church in Lincoln.
Memorials can be designated to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Catholic Social Services of the Diocese of Lincoln or to the family.

Ann Allen
Ann Marie Westring Allen of Fremont died Sept. 22 at her home.
Anne was born June 11, 1933, on the family farm near Morse Bluff. She attended Morse Bluff High School and lived in the Fremont area for most of her life. Ann married
Lenard H. “Bud” Westring on Sept. 1, 1950, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Cedar Hill near Morse Bluff. He passed away July 30, 1971.
Ann is survived by daughters Debra (David) Spicka of Fremont and Lynnette (Vern) Schaff of Zapata, Texas; three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass was Sept. 28 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Cedar Hill near Morse Bluff with burial at Maple Grove cemetery in Cedar Bluffs.
Memorials may be directed to the Dodge County Humane Society.

John Coufal
John Edward Coufal died Sept. 19 at Merrick Manor Manor in Fremont.
John was born Nov. 15, 1931, in Schuyler to John D. and Frances (Cipera) Coufal. He attended Dodge County rural school District 72 and graduated from North Bend High School in 1949. He farmed with his father until being inducted into the Navy Dec. 7, 1955. He was discharged Aug. 20, 1957, and served in the Naval Reserve until Dec. 5, 1961. While in the service he was stationed on the USS Stonecounty LST 1141. On April 4, 1964, John married
Lois Cuda at the First Presbyterian Church and they made their home in the North Bend area on the farm John was raised on.
John is survived by wife, Lois of North Bend; sons Denis (Pam) Coufal of Schuyler, Gary (Beth) Coufal of Denton and Roger Coufal of North Bend; 10 grandchildren; sister-in-law Betty Coufal of Fremont; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sept. 23 at the First Presbyterian Church in Schuyler, with burial at Schuyler Cemetery. Military Honors were conducted by McLeod Post #47 of the American Legion and Hespen-Mitchell Post 4836 of the V.F.W.
Family suggests memorials to the North Bend Volunteer Fire Department, Myasthenia Gravis Research or Shriners Hospital Transportation Fund.

Ray Stranik
Raymond A. Stranik of Linwood died Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Fremont Area Medical Center in Fremont.
Ray was born June 10, 1934, in Prague to Louis and Emma (Placek) Stranik. He grew up in the Morse Bluff area and graduated from North Bend High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from Feb. 17, 1955 to Oct. 28, 1958. Ray then farmed in Linwood for many years. He married
Rosie F. Kucera on Feb. 26, 1974, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Cedar Hill in rural Morse Bluff.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he sang in the choir; a member of American Legion Post #340 of Morse Bluff, the AmVets Post #20 and VFW Post #8223 in North Bend. He was a member of the David City Community Heritage Club, and current Commander of the American Legion/VFW Military Honors Team. Ray was a 75-year member of the ZCBJ and member of WFLA Lodge. He was the treasurer of the Bohemia Township and a life member of the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include wife Rosie; sister Mabel E. Morse of Morse Bluff; nephews Robert L. Stranik and Gregory A. Morse, both of Morse Bluff, and Mike (Nicky) Heisler of Elkhorn.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Father Jeremy Hazuka will officiate. Burial will be at Cedar Hill cemetery near Morse Bluff with Military Honors conducted by VFW Post #8223, AmVets Post #20 of North Bend and American Legion Post #340 of Morse Bluff.

Leonard Dobrusky
Leonard E. Dobrusky of North Bend died Aug. 12 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha. Leonard was born June 2, 1933 in Prague, to Emanuel and Mary (Vyhlidal) Dobrusky. He grew up in North Bend and was a 1951 graduate of North Bend High School. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserves from 1951 to 1953 and then entered active duty from 1953 to 1955. Leonard married
Patricia A. Black on Aug. 22, 1959, at St. Charles Catholic Church in North Bend. Patricia died July 27, 2010. Leonard was employed by Hormel & Company in Fremont from 1955 to 1986. He then worked as a carpenter for 10 years.
Leonard was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in North Bend, American Legion Post 340 of Morse Bluff, Jeffrey K. Mines AMVETS Post 20 and was a member of the North Bend Fire Department for 19 years.
He is survived by son, Michael Dobrusky of North Bend; daughters Susan (Scott) Haynes of Lincoln, Janice (Stephen) Bellinghiere of Omaha; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral Mass is Aug. 16, 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in North Bend.
The Rev. Donald Cleary will officiate. Vigil service is 6 p.m., Thursday, with visitation Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Legion Riders and the Patriot Guard will be escorting the funeral procession. Military graveside service will be conducted by members of V.F.W. Post 8223 and AmVets Post 20 of North Bend and American Legion Post 340 of Morse Bluff.
Burial will be at Cedar Hill cemetery near Morse Bluff. Memorials may be given to the AMVETS Post 20 of North Bend.

Leonard Tomasek
Leonard Tomasek of North Bend died Aug. 10 at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.
Leonard was born Sept. 6, 1925, in North Bend to John and Lilly (Beznoska) Tomasek. He married
Virginia Eggers on Aug 25, 1946, in Cedar Bluffs. Leonard farmed with his father and brother, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of St. John's Ridgeley Lutheran Church near Scribner.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia; sons Richard (Marci) Tomasek of Oakland, Randy (Sharon) Tomasek of Schuyler; daughter, Vicki Jean Tomasek of Tampa, Fla;
sister, Caroline Mastny of Schuyler; brothers-in-law, Willis Eggers of Paradise, Calif. and Gilbert Eggers of Fremont; seven grandchildren;
Jeremy (Cheryl) Vanicek of Omaha; and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 15, at St. John's Ridgeley Lutheran Church near Scribner. The Rev. Dr. Nicki McIntyre will officiate. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Aug. 14, with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. all at Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend. Visitation will continue Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Killian Cemetery, near Morse Bluff.
Memorials may be given to St. John's Ridgeley Lutheran Church, American Cancer Society and the North Bend Library.
