U.S., Obituary Collection, 1930-Current

Ardelle Moulder, 80
Ardelle Sarah Moulder, 80, of Craig, , Neb., died Friday, March 27, 1998, at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha.
Services were Monday at First Christian Church in Blair. Rev. David Ludwick officiated. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Ardelle Sarah. Moulder was born Feb. 6, 1918, in Blair to George and Syrilda (Short) Mundorf. She attended school in Blair, graduating in 1934. On July 6, 1934, she married Harland Miller in Blair. He preceded her in death in 1955. On Oct. 12, 1962, she married A. L. (Ausbin) Moulder in Arkadelphia, Ark.

She was a member of First Christian Church.

Survivors are her husband, A. L., of Craig; ; a daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Glenn Schwartz of Las Vegas, Nev.; and Joan and Dennis Berling of Craig; a son and daughter-in-law, Harland and Cheryl Miller of Rulo, Neb.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Willis Mundorf of Blair and a sister, Lorraine Taylor of Schuyler, Neb.

In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Clifford Mundorf; a grandson, Eric Berling and a son-in-law, Joe Walter.

Campbell - Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Russel Mark, 73
Services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 1998, at First Methodist Church in Leon, Iowa, for Russel G. Mark, 73, of Papillion. Burial will be in the Leon Cemetery.
Survivors are a son, Doug Mark, Springfield, Mo; daughters and son-in-law, Pat and Richard Porter of Omaha; and Linda Hughes, Sugar Land, Tex.; grandchildren, Chad Klein and Adam Klein, Omaha; Stephanie Hughes and Ryan Hughes, Sugar Land; Richard Mark and Matt Mark, Springfield; and a brother and sister-in-law, Neal and Donna Mark, Des Moines, Iowa.

Kahler - Dolce Mortuary in Papillion is in charge of arrangements.

George Zaracki, 64
George Zaracki, 64, died Thursday, March 26, 1998, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.
Graveside services were Saturday, March 28 at Hillcrest Memorial Park cemetery in Omaha.

George Zaracki was born Dec. 22, 1933, in Omaha to Vincent and Anna (Vaverka) Zaracki. He was a life - long resident of the Omaha area and worked at the Werner Trucking Company as a security guard.

Survivors are his children and their spouses, Bobby and Doris Palermo; Sandy and Bob Vincent; Billy Zaracki, Ron Zaracki; and Ray and Ricki Zaracki, all of Omaha; stepdaughters and their spouses, Nina and Joe Stewart of Blair; Patty and Ray Ketelsen of Omaha; and Julie and Jim Belt of Omaha; a stepson and his wife, Rich and Jean Knapp of Carson, Iowa; many grandchildren; a brother and sisters-in-law, Robert and Shirley Zaracki of Louisville, Neb. and Libby Zaracki of Cedar Creek, Neb.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Vincent.

Campbell - Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Roger Hartman, 44
Roger Fred Hartman died Saturday, March 21, 1998, at Canastota, N.Y.
Services were under the direction of Chamberlain - Cicmanec Mortuary.

Roger Fred Hartman was born June 11, 1953, at Blair to Edward and Thelma (Gehrig) Hartman. He attended public school at Herman and Craig, and at Gordon, Neb., when his family moved to Gordon. His public school education ended in the ninth grade as he was dyslexic. He was a vagabond, a free spirit, always on walk - about. He went wherever that spirit led him and worked any job that was available from ranches to factories. His travels took him coast to coast and to many states. He was always at the best place to live.

Survivors are his mother, Thelma Hartman and one sister, Jerrilyn Malmberg, both of Gordon; one brother, James Hartman, Bertha, Minn.; a son, Shannon Alley and a grandson of Iowa; nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Dick Hartman.

Pallbearers were Roy Trimble, Charlie Schwaderer, Robert Russell, Loren Wilson, Eric Malmberg and John Saxton.

Memorials may go to Wesleyan Gospel Chapel in Gordon.

Evelyn Heller, 72
Evelyn Heller, 72, of Blair died Wednesday, March 25, 1998, at Maple Crest Health Care Center in Omaha.
Memorial services are pending at Campbell - Aman Funeral Home.

She is survived by a daughter, Margaret Harris of Shelby, Ind.

Betty Kofoed, 67
Betty Francis Kofoed, 67, died Monday, March 23, 1998, in Omaha.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Roeder Mortuary in Omaha. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park at Omaha.

Betty Francis Kofoed was born Oct. 6, 1930, in Omaha. She was an operator for the telephone company.

Survivors are her husband, Howard Kofoed, Kennard; a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Joseph Goebel, Blair; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Carol Kofoed, Omaha; four grandchildren; her mother, Goldie Maack, Omaha; and a sister, Barbara Hansen, Omaha.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.

Vera Bessey
Vera Bessey, 63 Vera L. Bessey, 63, of Arlington, died Thursday, March 19, 1998, at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha.
Services were Monday at Reckmeyer - Moser Funeral Home in Arlington. Rev. Shirley Schmidt officiated. Burial was in Hillcrest cemetery in Omaha.

Vera L. Bessey was born May 21, 1934, in Omaha to Harry and Mary (DeJong) Gladwin. She grew up in Omaha. On July 3, 1953, she married Wayne Bessey at Council Bluffs, Iowa. After her marriage, she lived in Omaha and Kennard before moving to Arlington in 1969.

Survivors are her husband, Wayne; sons and daughter-in-law, Dale and Chari Bessey of Valentine, Neb. and Dwayne Bessey of Hemet, Calif.; daughters and sons-in-law, Alice and Mike Metcalf of Plattsmouth, Neb; Annette Bessey of Omaha; Carol and Dan Hynek of Uehling, Neb.; and Ann and Todd Nielsen of Blair; a sister, Mary Wipf of Omaha; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Harry Gladwin, Jr.; and a sister, Johanna Willis.

Pallbearers were Todd Nielsen, Jay Brichacek, Dan Hynek, Dave Kathol, Dale Nattress and Mike Metcalf.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.

Irene Kruse, 87
Irene Elizabeth Kruse, 87, formerly of Omaha; died Sunday, March 22, 1998, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Roeder's Mortuary in Omaha. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the mortuary Tuesday from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Irene Elizabeth Kruse was born September 8, 1910, at Missouri Valley, Iowa to Bruce and Chloe Cox. She moved with her parents to Fort Calhoun as a child and grew up and attended the Fort Calhoun schools, graduating from Fort Calhoun High School in March, 1928. She then attended California Beauty School. On Oct. 3, 1928, she married Gus Kruse at Council Bluffs, Iowa. During World War II, she was a welder at Paxton Verling and Eaton Manufacturing, making pontoons for the Navy. She retired from Snow Company in 1966. She lived in Omaha until she moved to Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in June, 1996.

Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Evelyn Kruse, Omaha; a daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Robert Johnson, Lakewood, Calif.; a sister and brother-in-law, Cecil Nelle and Richard O. Larsen, Fort Calhoun; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gus, in May, 1980; a son, Don in 1996; and a brother, Billie, in 1960.

Doris Reis, 69
Doris M. Reis, 69, of Fremont died Friday, March 20, 1998, at A. J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sinai Lutheran Church in Fremont. Rev. Michael Ostrom is officiating.

Doris M. Reis was born Sept. 28, 1928, at Arlington to Evie and Agnes (Hartung) Hilgenkamp. She grew up in Arlington, moving to Fremont as a teenager and had lived in Fremont ever since. She was a graduate of Fremont High School. She was employed at the former Montgomery Wards and then was an office clerk and bookkeeper for the former Gambles Distribution Center in Fremont for 28 years. On May 9, 1947, she married Charles F. Reis at Fremont.

She was a member of Sinai Lutheran Church.

Survivors are sons and daughter-in-law, Mike and Reg Reis of Fremont; Craig Reis of North Bend, Neb; and Rick Reis, Morse Bluff, Neb.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Morris and Betty Hilgenkamp of Kearney, Neb.; Arnold and Jan Hilgenkamp of Plymouth, Minn. and Robert Hilgenkamp of Fremont; sisters and brother-in-law, Jean Phillippe of Maxwell, Neb; and Betty and Harold Koser of Loysville, Penn.; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband on May 6, 1994, and her parents.

Memorials may be given to Sinai Lutheran Church.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont is in charge of services.
