Harold Lang, 76
Harold Ernest Lang, 76, of Blair died Wednesday, April 22, 1998, after suffering a heart attack at his home.
Services were April 24 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair. Burial was in the Herman Cemetery.
Harold Ernest Lang was born June 5, 1921, in Hooper, Neb., to Ernest and Emma ( Pawling ) Lang. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. On Sept. 8, 1942, he entered the U. S. Army at Ft. Crook, Neb. He attained the rank of master sergeant. He was discharged on Dec. 1, 1945. On Jan. 11, 1946, he married
Mardelle Arlene Kuhlman in Blair. They lived and farmed south of Herman until retiring in 1983. They then moved to Blair where they lived at the time of his death.
He was a life - long member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a member of the Herman American Legion.
Survivors are his wife, Arlene of Blair; a son and daughter - in - law, Terry and Bonnie Lang of Herman; a daughter, Linda Lang of Omaha; granddaughters, Kyna Lang and Kelsey Lang; and brothers and sisters, Katherine Schuette of Hooper; Selma ( Mrs. Wes ) Haig of Albuquerque, N. M.; Elva ( Mrs. Roy ) Hansen of Blair; Fern ( Mrs. Orland ) Krohn of Hooper; Neil and Janet Lang of Arlington; Helen Lang of Blair and Donald and Shirley Lang of Blair.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Judy and a sister, Pearl Brodersen.
Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church.

Lois Jorgensen, 73
Lois Jorgensen, 73, of Fremont died Wednesday, April 15, 1998, at Merrick Manor in Fremont.
Services were April 18 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev. David Loeschen officiated. Burial was in Memorial cemetery with the U.S. Flag Presentation by the Fremont Honor Guard of American Legion Post No. 20 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 854.
Lois Jorgensen was born Sept. 2, 1924, to Leo and Annie ( Victor ) Siercks in Wayne, Neb. She was baptized at the Lutheran Church in Wayne on Sept. 21, 1924. She was confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church near Arlington on May 8, 1937. She grew up on the farm near Arlington, attended St. Paul's Lutheran School and graduated from Fremont High School. She served in the U.S. Army from January 1944 to March 1946. She was the recipient of the Victory Medal, American Theater Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal. Later she lived in Blair and worked at Western Electric in Omaha. On Jan. 2, 1971, she married
Edwin Jorgensen in Fremont at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. They lived on a farm southwest of Hooper. They moved into Fremont in 1986.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors are her husband, Edwin; a son and daughter - in - law, Rick and Janet Seaman of Palo Alto, Calif.; a daughter and son - in - law, Shelly and Thomas Reames of Clovis, N.M.; a step - son and step - daughter - in - law, Duane and Kenny Jorgensen of San Antonio, Tex.; two grandchildren, Allison Seaman and Nathan Seaman; a step - grandson, Chad Jorgensen; two sisters, Adeline Kolbo of Fort Worth, Tex.; and Geraldine Hutchinson of Vancouver, Wash.; and a brother, Lloyd Siercks of Citrus Heights, Calif.
Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church and Trinity Lutheran School.

Robert Kiger, 57
Robert F. Kiger, 57, of Fremont died Monday, April 13, 1998, at the Fremont Area Medical Center.
Services were April 17 at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fremont. Rev. Leland G. Uden officiated. Burial was in Memorial cemetery with military graveside services conducted by the Fremont Honor Guard of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 854 and American Legion Post No. 20.
Robert F. Kiger was born April 25, 1940, at Omaha. He was a graduate of Fremont Senior High School. He moved with his family to Fremont in 1953 from Springfield. He served in the United States Army from Sept. 16, 1963, to Sept. 15, 1965, and was stationed in Korea. He and his brother, Bill, owned Wild Bill's Drive - In and Star Broiler Restaurant, both former Fremont businesses. In 1970, they started Kiger Brothers R - V Sales in Fremont. On May 22, 1967, he married
Carrie A. Beebe at Fremont.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 200 of Fremont and the Eagles Camping Club. He served on the Timberwood Lake Association Board of Directors and was a former member of Izaak Walton League in Fremont.
He is survived by his wife, Carrie; a brother and sister - in - law, Bill and Sharon Kiger of Fremont and many cousins in Washington County.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the Fremont Area Medical Center Oncology Department.

Harry "Jack" Rohwer, 88
Harry R. "Jack; " Rohwer, 88, of Blair died Monday, April 20, 1998, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Burial will be in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.
A prayer services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Campbell - Aman Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Blair Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Survivors are a son and daughter - in - law, Marvin and Judy Rohwer of Blair; a daughter and son - in - law, Deloras and Larry Fifer of Commerce City, Colo.; ten grandchildren, Alan Rohwer, Angelia Rohwer, Duane Fifer, Brian Fifer, Danelle Fifer, Tom Schuller, Greg Schuller, Rob Schuller, Doug Schuller and Eric Schuller and six great - grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola on June 3, 1993; his parents; sisters, Ann, Kate and Minnie; and brothers, Claus, Henry, Carl and John.

Sondra Jackson, 43
Sondra S. Jackson, 43, of Westminster, Colo., died Tuesday, March 31, 1998, at St. Anthony's North Hospital in Westminster.
Services were Saturday, April 4, at the Presbyterian Church in Fremont. Rev. Stephen Brownlee officiated. Burial was in Memorial cemetery in Fremont.
Sondra S. Jackson was born Sondra S. Michaud on April 11, 1954, in Superior, Nebr.. Her family moved to Syracuse in 1956 and to Fremont in 1963. She graduated from Fremont Senior High School in 1972. On Nov. 28, 1977, she married
Kim Jackson in Lincoln. She worked at the Tempo Store in Fremont from 1972 to 1981. She and her husband and owned Iron Mike's Restaurant in Fremont until 1982, when they moved to Lincoln. They moved to Westminster in 1986, where she worked in the office of Mervyn's Department Store.
Survivors are her husband; three sons, Derek Jackson, Alex Jackson and Chance Jackson, all of Westminster; her father, Bill Michaud of Fremont; three sisters, Nancy McCabe, Susan ( Mrs. Kelly ) Perry and Brenda ( Mrs. Martin ) Frye, all of Fremont and her mother - in - law and father - in - law, Leonard and Marilyn Jackson of Fremont.
She was preceded in death by her mother and grandparents.
Memorials may be given to the Jackson Children Educational Fund.
Clyde Nelsen, 94
Clyde Nelsen, 94, of Blair died Friday, April 10, 1998, at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Campbell - Aman Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Kennard Cemetery.
Clyde Nelsen was born Dec. 27, 1903, at Kennard to George H. and Myrtle ( Wright ) Nelsen. He attended school in Washington and Kennard. He drove truck for Elmer Wright, prior to attending auctioneering school in Indiana. He was an auctioneer for a number of years, and then moved to Michigan where he worked for a car dealer. He later moved to Iowa and worked for Moran Construction Company. In August of 1929, he married
Mae A. Carlson at Fontanelle, Iowa. They moved to Blair where he owned and operated the Skelly Oil Station. After the sale of the station, he operated a feed store.
He was a past member of the Blair Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors are his sons and daughters - in - law, Don and Barbara Nelsen, Mesa, Ariz.; Clyde J. and Wanda Nelsen, Fort Calhoun; and Rev. Ronald and Corrine Nelsen, Keokuk, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 17 great - grandchildren; two sisters, Leola Jensen and Mildred ( Mrs. Harry ) Paulsen, both of Blair.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife and one sister, Vera Johnson.

Alvina Potter, 82
Alvina L. Potter, 82, of Blair died Wednesday, April 8, 1998, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.
Services were Monday at the Herman Methodist Church. Burial was in the Herman Cemetery.
Alvina L. Potter was born May 27, 1915, in Otoe County, Nebr., to John and Lena ( Buckmann ) Hermann. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith in Avoca, Neb. On March 12, 1938, she married
Glen E. Potter in Nebraska City, Neb., She was a beautician and operated a shop in her home for several years.
Survivors are two daughters and son - in - law, Carolyn Potter of Blair and Barbara and Morris Golden of Des Moines, Iowa; five grandchildren; four great - grandchildren; and two sisters, Freida Forsberg of Arapahoe, Neb., and Sylvia Emmons of Omaha.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glen in 1972; two sisters, Meta Rahlfs and Anna Knickman and two brothers, Bill Hermann and Harry Hermann.
