Frances M. Autenrieth
Frances M. Autenrieth of Mission, Texas, died Monday, May 4, 1998, at the Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen, Texas.
Frances M.. Autenrieth was a native of Kansas, City, Mo. She lived and raised her family in Omaha from 1943 to 1988. Since 1988, she lived in Mission, Texas.
She was a Red Cross swimming instructor, a member of the Omaha Symphony Guild, a former PTA president, Girl Scout leader and an active participant in community activities.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, William G. Autenrieth; seven children, Karen A. Olmsted of Arlington, Va.; Robert W. Autenrieth of Blair; Dorothy L. Day of Bloomington, Ind., Patricia G. Autenrieth of Hayattsville, Md., Linda L. Autenrieth of Kansas City, Mo.; Janet M. Autenrieth of Tampa, Fla.; and Helen F. Fall of Fairfax, Va.; nine grandchildren and four great - grandchildren.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the American Red Cross.
Ruth I. Frink, 81
Ruth I. Frink, 81, of Fremont, died at her home on Saturday, May 9, 1998.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Fremont with Rev. Brian Kottas officiating. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the Dayton Valley cemetery at Clarence, Iowa.
Visitation will be at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, 9 - 11 a.m.
Ruth I. Frink was born on Dec. 9, 1916, at Kennard, to Nels and Cora ( Grimm ) Lauritsen. She graduated from the Kennard High School and attended the Commercial Extension School of Commerce in Omaha.
She worked as a secretary for Paxton & Gallagher in Omaha and also for her father at Lauritsen Grain & Lumber in Kennard. On Aug. 27, 1944, she married
Kenneth C. Frink in Omaha. They lived on a farm near Clarence, Iowa, and moved into town after retirement. She worked as the secretary for the Methodist Church in Clarence. She moved to Fremont in 1985.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fremont, the Hospital Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary and Eagles REACT in Fremont and the VFW Auxiliary in Arlington.
She is survived by one sister and brother - in - law, Loraine and Russell Taylor of Fremont and one brother and sister - in - law, Byron and Freda Lauritsen of Fremont.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth in 1980; a sister, a brother and an infant brother.
Marie Johnson, 79
Marie Johnson, 79, of Blair, died Friday, May 8, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.
Memorial services were Monday at First Lutheran Church.
Marie Amanda Johnson was born March 19, 1919, at Bowbells, N.D., to Martin and Anna ( Peterson ) Johnson. As an infant, she moved to Albert Lea, Minn., where she was later confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church and was a member until transferring to First Lutheran Church in Blair in the late 1940s. She attended Dana College from 1944 to 1946 and received her degree in 1960. She worked faithfully at Dana College for 35 years and retired in 1979 as assistant registrar.
She was a member at First Lutheran Church, in worship, choir, circle, Love Days and many other volunteer activities. She also helped with serving coffee and cookies to residents at Good Shepherd Home. She was a member of the Memorial Community Hospital Auxiliary and helped with the rummage sale for many years.
Survivors are her sister, Arline Nyman of Silver Bay, Minn.; an uncle, Arthur Peterson of Dekalb, Ill.; nephews, cousins and special friend, Sigrid Christensen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step - mother Sena ( Peterson ) Johnson; and sisters Della Wineberg and Martha Clarke.
Memorials may be given to Dana College, First Lutheran Church or Good Shepherd Home.

Meta M. Taylor, 86
Meta M. Taylor, 86, of Fremont, died Saturday, May 9, 1998, at the Arbor Manor Living Center in Fremont.
Services were today at the Fremont Alliance Church. The Revs. Phil Ronzheimer and John Wirkes officiated.
Meta M. Taylor was born April 9, 1912, on a farm near Blair to Edward and Marie Hansen. She grew up on a farm near Orum. She attended Orum and Rosehill Schools and graduated from Blair High School in 1929. She taught school for two years. On June 7, 1930, she married
John Taylor in Denison, Iowa. They farmed northwest of Orum from 1931 through 1968. In January of 1969, they moved into Fremont.
During the years, she taught many Bible classes in Blair and Fremont. She was a member of the Fremont Alliance Church and active in the Christian Women 's Club.
She is survived by her husband, John, Sr.; four sons and three daughters - in - law, John and Pat Taylor, Jr., of Fremont, Robert and Pat Taylor of Fremont, Thomas Taylor of Fremont and Timothy and Debbie Taylor of Princeton, Texas; three daughters and two sons - in - law, Janet and Gary Chubb of Dallas, Texas, Mary and Chuck Barrett of Denver and Marie Cameron of Boise, Idaho; 20 grandchildren; 21 great - grandchildren; and three sisters, Emma Hansen of Blair, Anna Toelke of Fort Calhoun and Esther Welliver of Omaha.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, two brothers and one sister.
Memorials may be given to the "Back; to the Bible" Broadcast in Lincoln and the Fremont Alliance Church.

Doris Johns, 83
Doris Adelaide Johns, 83, of Bennington died Monday, May 4, 1998, at the Ville DeSante Nursing Home in Omaha.
Services were Thursday at the Jaynes Street Community Church of God in Omaha. Rev. Scott Ross officiated. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery. Mrs. Johns was born Dec. 3, 1914, at Kennard. She was a bookkeeper.
Survivors are her husband, Russell Johns, Bennington; sons, Dean Johns, Bennington and Ronald Johns, Sun City, Ariz. and formerly of Fremont, Neb.; a daughter, Janet Johns, San Francisco, Calif.; two daughters - in - law, Kay Johns, Bennington and Nancy Johns, Sun City and formerly of Fremont; a sister, Faye Dierking, Amelia, Neb.; nine grandchildren and nine great - grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Brad Johns, Gregg Johns, Jeff Johns, Paul Johns, Bruce Yonehiro and Grant Yonehiro.
Memorials may be given to the Jaynes Street Community Church of God Gideons.
George Dean, 82
George W. Dean, 82, of Arlington died Saturday, May 2, 1998, at A. J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Rev. Donald Levenhagen will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by the Fremont Honor Guard of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 854 and American Legion Post No. 20, at the funeral home. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Westlawn Memorial Park in Grand Island, Neb.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the Reckmeyer - Moser Funeral Home in Arlington and at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
George W. Dean was born July 6, 1915, in Grand Island to William and Josephine ( Werner ) Dean. He grew up at Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island High School in 1933. He enlisted in the U. S. Army during World War II serving from March 1945 to July 1945. He lived in Grand Island until 1956, then in Columbus until 1961. He lived in Fremont until 1974 and then in Arlington until his death. On July 12, 1936, he married
Mildred Riggert in Seward, Neb. On April 6, 1974, he married
Emma ( Leu ) Widener in Blair.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair and American Legion Post No. 71 in Arlington.
Survivors are his wife, Emma of Arlington; a son and daughter - in - law, Gary and Barbara Dean of Fremont; a daughter, Marcia ( Mrs. William ) Schwartzer of Shelby, Neb.; step - daughters and step - son - in - law, Marlene and Ernest Armendariz of Tulsa, Okla.; and Sharon Schlueter of Watertown, Wis.; a son - in - law, Bob Schuyler of Grand Island; a step - daughter - in - law, Joan Schlueter of Arlington; 16 grandchildren and 25 great - grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred on July 29, 1973; his father, William; his mother and step - father, John and Josephine ( Werner ) Bacon; a daughter, Janice Schuyler; a brother, Orville Dean and a step - son, Jerrold Schlueter.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Schwartzer, Michael Dean, Matthew Dean, Kurt Schuyler, Kent Schuyler, Bill Schwartzer, Jr., Roger Carlow and Allen Lubken.
Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair; Arlington American Legion Post No. 71 or the Arlington Volunteer Fire Department.
Arthur Panning, 87
Arthur G. Panning, 87, of Fremont died Wednesday, April 29, 1998, at the Fremont Area Medical Center in Fremont.
Services were Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Hooper. Rev. Rodney Meske officiated. Burial was in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Arthur G. Panning was born May 20, 1910, near Altona, Neb., in Wayne County to Fred G. and Emma ( Pflueger ) Panning. He was baptized on June 10, 1910, and confirmed on April 13, 1924. At the age of five, he moved with his family to a farm near Hooper. He attended Immanuel Lutheran School east of Winslow and graduated from the Hooper High School. During World War II, he served in the U. S. Army from 1941 through 1945. On June 4, 1944, he married
Meta Wende in Cisco, Tex. In 1946, they moved to a farm in the Hooper area and farmed until 1978, when they retired and moved into Fremont.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where he had served as an elder, a trustee and on various other boards and committees of the church. He was also a member of the Lutheran Laymen's League and had been a member of the Golden K Kiwanis Club of Fremont.
Survivors are his wife, Meta; two sons and daughters - in - law, James and Nancy Panning of Hooper and Glen and Barbara Panning of Littleton, Colo.; three grandchildren and two brothers, Victor Panning and Theodore Panning, both of Fremont.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Rabe Suhr, Esther Stong and Leona Kuhls and a brother, Irvin Panning.
Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
