Gladys Y. Hammons, 77, of Blair died Thursday, July 23, 1998, at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha.
Services were Monday, July 27, at Campbell - Aman Funeral Chapel in Blair. Burial was in the Forest Lawn cemetery in Omaha.
Gladys Y. Green was born April 4, 1921, at Inconium, Mo., to Harrison and Inez ( Gover ) Green. On Jan. 19, 1943, she married
Elvin Hammons in Clinton, Mo. They lived in Omaha until moving to Blair in 1972.
She is survived by her husband, Elvin, of Blair; daughter and son - in - law, Paula and Larry Witt of Bennington; three grandchildren, six great - grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Meadows of Clinton, Mo., and Elmira Agnew of Kansas City, Mo., and one brother, Tom Green of Clinton, Mo.

Raymond C. "Shorty" Seefus, 86
Raymond C. "Shorty" Seefus, 86, of Valley, died Thursday, July 23, 1998, at the Fremont Area Medical Center.
Services were Saturday, July 25, at Reichmuth Funeral Home in Elkhorn with the Rev. Wanda Fry officiating. Burial was in Prospect Hill cemetery in Elkhorn.
Raymond Charles "Shorty" Seefus was born Oct. 26, 1911, in Clayton, Wis. He was a farmer.
Survivors include one daughter and son - in - law, Arlene and George Ritner of Valley; two sons and daughters - in - law, Charles and Helen Seefus of Blair and Larry and Bernice Seefus of Elkhorn; a sister, Jeanette Johnson of Valley; five grandchildren and eight great - grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Clair Byrne, Mark Eckerman, Melvin Growcock, Terry Lewis, John Ritner and Mark Seefus.
Mae M. Thompson, 85
Mae M. Thompson, 85, of Blair, died Friday, July 24, 1998, at Crowell Home in Blair.
Services were Monday, July 27, at First United Methodist Church in Blair. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery. A prayer service and P.E.O. was Sunday at Campbell - Aman Funeral Home.
Mae M. Koopman Thompson was born Aug. 13, 1912, in Blair to William and Mae ( McCormick ) Koopman. She graduated from Blair High school and attended one year of nursing school. On Dec. 23, 1932, she married
James C. Thompson at Stanton. She worked for Dr. Knee, the B & C Shop, Klopp's Jewelry and the City of Blair.
She was honored in August of 1994 as the only living 75 - year member of First Methodist Church. She had received the Layperson of the Year Award. She had sung in the church choir for 50 years. She was a member of P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter EQ.
She is survived by her husband, James; son and daughter - in - law, Terry and Sharon Thompson of Blair; two grandchildren and their spouses, Paula and Mike Betzold of Highlands Ranch, Colo., and Steven and Julie Thompson of Dallas, Texas; one great - grandson, Joshua; and one brother, William Koopman of Spruce Pine, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Mildred States and Frances Murdock.

Gilfred (Gil) Garner, 72
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Blair for Gilfred (Gil) Garner, 72, of Blair. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Naomi; four step - sons and their wives, Gary and Debbie Baker, Bob and Linda Baker, Lewie and Bev Baker; two step - daughters and their husbands, Bev and Don Brase and Cheryl and Derald Erickson; 16 step - grandchildren; 13 great &345 step - grandchildren and a sister, Betty Wehrli of Blair.
Memorials may be given to the Baptist Church or the Blair Rescue Squad.

Fred A. Olson, 73
Fred A. Olson, 73, of Craig died Friday, July 17, 1998, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.
Services were Monday, July 20 at the Craig United Methodist Church. Rev. Greg Hall officiated. Burial was in the Craig Cemetery.
Fred Allen Olson was born March 9, 1925, in Washington County to Edwin A. and Fern H. ( McDonald ) Olson. He graduated from Hooper High School in 1942. On Dec. 21, 1944, he married
Roberta V. Schaeufele in Fremont. He was a lifelong farmer. He operated a dairy farm from 1950 until he retired from the dairy business, in favor of his son, in 1988. He continued to help in the crop operation until 1996, when ill health forced his retirement.
He was a member of the Alder Grove United Methodist Church, where he was baptized in 1955.
Survivors include his wife, Roberta, of Craig; a daughter and son - in - law, Sansha and Stan Landholm of Oakland; a son and daughter - in - law, Ed and Leta Olson of Craig; four grandchildren, Jeff Landholm and Nichole Landholm Chambliess, both of Hooper, and Penny and Kalee Olson of Craig; two great - grandchildren; a brother and sister - in - law, Vernon and Norma Olson of York; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Brian.
Pallbearers were John Price, Wayne Westergaard, Kevin Olson, Eugene Westergaard, George Wollen and Dennis Westergaard.
Pam Schinck was the organist.

Pearl E. Armbrust, 87, of North Bend died Friday, July 17, 1998, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.
Services were Monday, July 20, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont Rev. Verdell Schramm of St. Peter Lutheran Church of North Bend officiated Burial was in Memorial cemetery in Fremont.
Pearl E. Timm was born Sept. 7, 1910, at Blair to Henry and Mathilda (Rasmussen) Timm. She grew up on a farm near Blair. On July 6, 1935, she married
Christian E. Armbrust in Omaha. They moved to Chicago in 1936. She was a cook for the nursing school at Cook County Hospital and later worked at Chicago Screw Co. She moved to Downers Grove, Ill, in 1948 and worked part time at the Morton Arboretum at Lisle, Ill, and she did volunteer work for Meals on Wheels. She moved to North Bend in 1986 and lived at Birchwood Manor from December 1994 until moving to Crowell Memorial Home in Blair in 1996.
She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church at North Bend, the North American Gladiolus Society, Downers Grove Woman'; s Garden Club, the Cook - Dupage Beekeepers Association and Downers Grove Estates Fire Department, which she and her husband helped to start.
She is survived by a daughter and son - in - law, Susan and Bill Wesley of Downers Grove, Ill., and one sister, Dorothy Enfield of Omaha.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Christian; and her parents.
Pallbearers were William Wesley, Allan, Larry, Stephen and Michael Enfield and Melvin Armbrust. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer'; s Association.

Larry E. Fannon, 58
Larry E. Fannon, 58, of Conception, Mo., died Wednesday, July 15, 1998, at St. Francis Hospital in Maryville, Mo.
Graveside services were Saturday, July 18, at Swinford cemetery in Arkoe, Mo. Elder Gaylord Jensen and George D. Fannon officiated.
Larry E. Fannon was born Aug. 27, 1939, in Nodaway County, Mo., to George E. and Goldie Jane (Gilbert) Fannon. He spent his entire life in the Conception Juction, Mo., area. He had served in the National Guard and attended Horace Mann School in Maryville. He was a farmer.
He was a member of the Reformed Later Day Saints Church in Guilford, Mo.
He is survived by his mother, Goldie of Conception Junction; four brothers and sisters - in - law, George D. and Marilyn Fannon of Syracuse, Verlin Fannon of Conception Junction, Forrest and Donna Fannon of Stanberry, Mo., and Robert L. and Gerri Fannon of Conception Juction; one sister and brother - in - law, Sharron and James Williams of Savannah, Mo., and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to the Nodaway County Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
