Brady L. Odell
December 12, 1980 - March 16, 2008
Brady Lee Odell, 27, died Sunday, March 16, 2008 near Chappell, Nebraska from injuries received in an automobile accident.
He was born December 12, 1980 in Alliance to Norman L. and Janene A. (Scherbarth) Odell.
Brady graduated from Alliance High School in 1999. He then entered the U.S. Marine Corp. Following an injury he was honorably discharged. He then went to WyoTech School in Laramie, Wyoming studying Hot Rod and Auto Body repair. Brady was employed as a conductor for BNSF Railroad at the time of his death. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was devoted to his son.
He is survived by his son Drake, his parents Norman and Janene Odell, brother Michael and sister Megan Odell all of Alliance, grandparents Warren and Betty Scherbarth of Hay Springs, aunts and uncles, Bob and Nancy Scherbarth of Alliance; Stuart and Suzan Smith of Lincoln, Steve Scherbarth of Denver, Brian Scherbarth of Casper, WY, Craig and Cheryl Scherbarth of Wallace, NE, Dennis and Christal Powell of Alliance and Jim and Denise Krajewski of Texas. He is also survived by his special friend Tara Schmidt and her children Luke and Delaney as well as numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Norman and Verdie Odell Sr.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Reverend Martin T. Schnare and Reverend Richard C. Mueller officiating. Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 19 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A memorial will be established for his son and may be sent in care of the family at 5862 Franklin Road.
Eula Haddix
Eula M. Haddix, 85, of Grand Island died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services are pending at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.
David Harris
David Harris, 43, of Grand Island, formerly of Marysville, Kan., died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, at a Grand Island hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Marysville, Kan. The Rev. George Bertels will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville, Kan. A wake service will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
A memorial has been established.
Mr. Harris was born on July 14, 1956, at Marysville to William and Bernice (Lewis) Harris. He graduated from Marysville High School in 1974.
He worked for Parker Livestock Division of Lextron Livestock Medical Supply Co. He worked for Parker Livestock in Marysville, Kan.; Yankton, S.D.; and Grand Island.
He was a member of the Catholic Church and Fourth-Degree Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include two brothers, Michael of Branson, Mo.; and Patrick of Gary.
Otto Schuebel
Otto G. Schuebel, 88, of Grand Island died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center.
A prayer service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Butler-Volland Funeral Home in Hastings with the Rev. Dominic Pecararo officiating. Burial will be in Parkview cemetery in Hastings.
Mr. Schuebel was born on March 15, 1911, in Scotia to Otto and Karoline (Seutter) Schuebel.
He married
Charlotte Gardner in August 1967. Mr. Schuebel was a self-employed laborer.
He was a member of the First Church of Nazarene.
Survivors include grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; four sisters, Marie Hill, Elsa Rauch, Clara White and Anna Schuebel; and one brother, William Schuebel.
Delores Fitzke
HASTINGS -- Delores Fitzke, 67, of Hastings died at her home. No date of death was available.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hastings with the Rev. Harold D. Stromer officiating. Burial will be in Parkview cemetery in Hastings.
Memorials are planned to Mary Lanning Hospice or the church.
Butler-Volland Funeral Home in Hastings is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Fitzke was born on Aug. 1, 1932, in Grand Island to Henry and Evalene (Guillion) Wright. She graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1950.
She married
Ronald Fitzke on June 14, 1953, in Grand Island. The couple moved to Boulder, Colo., where Mrs. Fitzke worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Co. The couple later moved to Denver, where Mrs. Fitzke continued to work for the telephone company.
They returned to Grand Island in 1965 and then moved to Hastings in 1967.
Mrs. Fitzke was a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the YWCA. She was active in the Adams County Republican Party and League of Women Voters.
Survivors include two sons, R. Scott Fitzke of Littleton, Colo., and Tod Fitzke of Denver; one daughter, Melanie Parker of Euless, Texas; five grandchildren; and two sisters, Diana Walters of Parker, Colo., and Dottie Roggy of Plant City, Fla.
Gwen Gaymon
HASTINGS -- Gwen E. Gaymon, 82, of Hastings died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at Perkins Pavilion.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Butler-Volland Chapel in Hastings. The Rev. Earl Higgins will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery at Trumbull.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church, Mary Lanning Hospice and Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.
Mrs. Gaymon was born on Aug. 5, 1917, in Loup City. She was adopted by Frank and Lydia (Guffin) Strickler. She graduated from Trumbull High School in 1935 and attended Kearney State Teachers College for a year.
She married
Ray E. Gaymon on June 7, 1941, in Buffalo, N.Y. She taught school and was a homemaker. They moved to Hastings in 1962 from their farm near Trumbull. She was a receptionist for Dr. Murray and Dr. Damico.
Mrs. Gaymon was a member of the First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, both in Hastings. She was a past member of the YWCA, Daughters of the Nile and Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Connie (Mrs. Rich) Halloran of Hastings and Nancy (Mrs. Dale) Lewis of Fulton, Mo.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Stickney of Kearney.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosalie Gaymon; a brother, Floyd Stickney; and a sister, Adda Hawkinson.
