Wilda Kuhl
ORLEANS -- Wilda Kuhl, 68, of Orleans died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999 at the Colonial Villa Nursing Home of Alma.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Evangelical Free Church of Orleans with the Rev. Daryl Walling officiating. Burial will be in the Orleans City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Mitchell Funeral Home of Orleans.
Mrs. Kuhl was born Nov. 10, 1931 to Cyrus and Cleta Mae (Cox) Delimont near Long Island, Kan. The family lived on a farm north of Long Island where Mrs. Kuhl attended the Delimont school until the ninth grade when she entered high school in Long Island.
She married
Jess Bernard Kuhl on March 19, 1949 in Orleans. The couple lived and farmed in Kansas for a short time before moving to Orleans where they owned and operated a kennel for 20 years, raising chow-chows, poodles and miniature German schnauzers.
Mrs. Kuhl enjoyed caring for a large garden and tended several flower gardens. She also did a lot of traveling in the United States.
She moved into the Methodist Memorial Homes in Holdrege for a short time, then to the Colonial Villa of Alma in 1999.
Survivors include her husband, Jess; four sons, Ralph Kuhl of Boulder, Colo., Art Kuhl of Grand Island, Bernard Kuhl of Kearney and John Kuhl of Orleans; three daughters, Theresa (Mrs. Dan) of Orleans, Janice (Mrs. Darin) Magnuson of Kenesaw and Sharon (Mrs. Mitch) Woestc of Blue Hill; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandson; three brothers, Vic Delimont and Maynard Delimont, both of Long Island, Kan., and Darrel Delimont of Denver; and two sisters, Erma Grosvenor of Woodbine, Iowa, and Alberta Geil of Almena, Kan.
She was preceded in death one sister, Althea Delimont and one brother, Mike Delimont.
Evelyn Oliverius
COLUMBUS -- Evelyn Catherine Oliverius, 78, of Columbus, formerly of Albion, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, at the Columbus Community Hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Albion. The Revs. Frank Baumert and Joseph Hannappel will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m., with a 5 p.m. wake service, Tuesday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion.
Memorials are suggested to the family, designated to the Rainbow Center and Adams Street Center.
Mrs. Oliverius was born on Oct. 21, 1921, in Lincoln to Jerome Jeremiah and Nellie (Whalen) Sullivan. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1938 and from Lincoln School of Commerce in 1939. She worked as the office administrator at J.C. Penney's in Omaha.
She married
Stanley Joseph Oliverius on June 16, 1948, in Lincoln. They lived in Albion, where she worked as the office administrator at Oliverius Law Firm and as a homemaker. They moved to Columbus in 1985.
She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Albion, where she was an organist for 18 years and a former president of the altar society. She also was a member of the Columbus Hospital Auxiliary, a former member of the Mid-East Nebraska Mental Health Board and a board member of the Rainbow Center in Columbus.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathy (Mrs. Keith) Nienhueser of Sidney and Joan (Mrs. Michael) Miller of Omaha; three sons, Dr. Jerry Oliverius of Phoenix, Dan Oliverius of Lincoln and Mike Oliverius of Columbus; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Ruth Sullivan; and two brothers, Earl and Leo Sullivan.
Agnes Stobbe
Agnes A. Stobbe, 79, of Grand Island died Sunday, May 14, 2000 at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Funeral services are pending. Curran Funeral Home in Grand Island is in charge of arrangements.
Alberta Cain
WHITEWATER, Kan. -- Alberta Marie Cain, 83, of Whitewater, Kan., died Saturday, May 13, 2000 at Wheat State Manor in Whitewater.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Garbiel's Church in Hazard with the Rev. Loren Pohlmeier officiating. Burial will be in the Hazard Cemetery. A wake will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the church.
Rasmussen Mortuary in Ravenna is in charge of arrangements.
Warren Catchpool
Warren A. Catchpool, 78, of 4314 Michigan Ave., died Wednesday, March 1, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Grand Island. The Rev. John D. Russell will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Grand Island.
Mr. Catchpool was born Feb. 1, 1922, in New Hartford, Iowa to Willis and Bena (Gershan) Catchpool. He moved to Bladen in 1929 after the death of his mother. He attended schools in New Hartford, Bladen and Glenvil. He graduated from Glenvil in 1939.
In 1942 he entered the U.S. Army and received his basic training in Texas at Camp Swift. He attended infantry school at Ft. Benning, Ga. Upon his graduation he was assigned to the 102 infantry division. With this unit he fought in the European Theater in France, Holland, Belgium and Germany. In February of 1946, he received an honorable discharge at Ft. Leavenworth, Kan.
On Oct. 22, 1946, he married
Etta Nowka in Hastings. The Catchpools owned and operated a bakery shop in Hastings until 1957. He then entered the automobile business, working for Cliff Rose Lincoln-Mercury as sales manager. In 1963, he and his family moved to Broken Bow where he was general manager of Silverman Ford-Lincoln-Mercury.
In 1967 the family moved to Grand Island. Mr. Catchpool worked at Diers Motor until 1970 when motor vehicle inspection was instituted in Nebraska. He was inspection supervisor for the eastern half of Nebraska for 12 years until the program was discontinued.
He then worked for Lloyd and Herb's Used Cars until his retirement.
He was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Grand Island. He had been appointed Admiral of the Great Navy of The State of Nebraska by Gov. James Exon. He was an avid hunter and fisherman for many years. He spent much time with his family at their cabin at Johnson Lake.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bill of Kearney and Brian of Grand Island; one daughter, Deborah (Mrs. Johnny) Anderson of Grand Island; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Wilma and a brother, Carl.
Edna Waddington
Edna E. Waddington, 84, of Lakeview Rehab/Nursing Center died Thursday, March 2, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends. Mrs. Waddington's body will be cremated with private interment of the ashes at a later date.
Mrs. Waddington was born on Aug. 30, 1915, at rural Cairo to Charles and Anna (Ahrens) Baade. She attended Bluff Hollow School and worked as a helper in homes until her marriage.
She married
Clarence Earl Waddington on Sept. 23, 1940, at Seward. She worked at St. Francis Medical Center from 1963 until her retirement in 1988. She lived in Cairo until 1994, when she moved to Grand Island and lived with her daughter, Rita Willman.
She had lived at Lakeview for two years.
Survivors include two daughters, Rita Willman of Grand Island and Peggy Einspahr of Roseland; one son, Gary Waddington of Scottsdale, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Walter Baade of Cairo.
Her husband died in December 1976. She also was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
