Esther Fuhrman
FOWLER, Kan. -- Esther V. Fuhrman, 90, of Fowler, Kan. died Thursday, Dec. 9, 1999, at Minneola District Hospital in Minneola, Kan.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Fowler with the Rev. Zino YeSwe presiding. Burial will be in the Fowler Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Minneola District Hospital.
Mrs. Fuhrman was born on April 7, 1909, in Ashland, Kan., to H.S. and Edith (Isenbart) Cure. She married
Charley F. "Bus" Fuhrman Jr. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church on Nov. 22, 1933. He died on July 3, 1971. She lived in Fowler most of her life and was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabella and the Altar Society, all of Fowler.
Survivors include two sons, Hank Fuhrman of Fowler and Edward Fuhrman of Belleville, Kan.; three daughters, Virginia Lynch of Ft. Dodge, Kan., Eileen Hermes of Hutchinson, Kan. and Ruth Burkhart of Burton, Kan.; three brothers, Earl Cure of Hanston, Kan., Ernest Cure of Bethune, Colo. and Joe Cure of Burlington, Colo.; one sister, Dora Morrill; 13 grandchildren including R.J. Post of Grand Island; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Joe Fuhrman on March 14, 1969; four brothers, Leo, Bill, Paul and Lloyd Cure; three sisters, Verna Hoffman, Pearl Ney and Zella Cure; and two grandchildren.
Lila Hardman
FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- Lila D. Hardman, 71, of Fort Collins, Colo., formerly of Grand Island, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999, in Fort Collins.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fort Collins. The Rev. Tim Runtsch will officiate. Allnutt Funeral Service of Fort Collins is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hardman was born Nov. 19, 1928, to Frederick A. and Amalie (Haase) Pflughoeft in Ellsworth, Kan. She graduated from high school in Ellsworth and then graduated as a registered nurse from St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City. Mo.
She married
Dr. Dennis A. Hardman on Feb. 19, 1950, in Ellsworth. Mrs. Hardman worked as a nurse for a short time after graduating and then worked as a homemaker. She is a former resident of Smith Center, Kan. and Grand Island. Mrs. Hardman has lived in Fort Collins since 1993.
She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She enjoyed the arts.
Survivors include her husband of Fort Collins; three sons, John of Jamestown, Colo., Jim of Louisville, Colo.; and Philip of Osborne, Kan.; two brothers, Dale Pflughoeft of Renton, Wash. and Don Pflughoeft of Ellsworth, Kan.; a sister, Betty Bailor of Santa Paula, Calif.; three grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
Garnette Loucks
Garnette V. Loucks, 95, of Tiffany Square Care Center died Thursday, Dec. 9, 1999, at Tiffany Square.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. C. Roger Nelson officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Fairhaven Memorial Park in Santa Ana, Calif.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Loucks was born on Nov. 2, 1904, at Minden to Charles and Andrea (Anderson) Jorgensen. She grew up in Minden, attended school there and graduated from Minden High School. She then attended Hastings College and taught in a one-room school near Minden.
She married
Raymond H. Loucks on Sept. 1, 1926, in Minden. They lived in Kearney for awhile and then lived in Grand Island. He was in the wholesale grocery business for Nash-Finch and Ulry-Talbert.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was very active in the Order of Eastern Star and P.E.O. She did volunteer work for the American Red Cross.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Loraine (Mrs. Paul) Moon of Mission Viejo, Calif.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; three sons; and four brothers and sisters.
'Eddie' Osborn
KEARNEY -- Edwin "Eddie" G. Osborn, 78, of Kearney died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Faith United Methodist Church in Kearney with the Rev. Barbara Hart officiating. Burial will be in the Kearney cemetery with VFW Post No. 759, American Legion No. 52 and the National Guard Unit of Kearney conducting military rites.
There will be no visitation. O'Brien-Straatmann-Apfel Funeral Home in Kearney is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Osborn was born on Oct. 24, 1921, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Garner and Elsie (Goodell) Osborn. He graduated from high school in Oto, Iowa. He received a music degree at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa.
He entered the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was involved in radio and radar and worked with dive and torpedo bombers. His tour of duty took him to the South Pacific and Asiatic Theater.
He married
Aileen Kerr in Seattle, Wash., on July 18, 1942. After his discharge from the military in 1945, the couple lived in various areas including Sioux City, Iowa; Holdrege and Kearney.
He was a musician and band leader for most of his life. He was also involved in radio and TV, both on the air and in production. He was widely known in the area as leader of Eddie Osborn's "Little Big Band." They played for many performances and dances.
He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Kearney Elks Lodge, VFW, American Legion, United Commercial Travelers, Midway Amateur Radio Club, Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia honorary music fraternity, Ancient Order of the Deep, Imperial Domain of the Golden Dragon and the American Federation of Musicians.
Survivors include his wife of Kearney; five sons, Kenneth of Punta Gorda, Fla., Dale of Fisher, Ind., Ron of Omaha, Greg of Kearney and Brian of Holdrege; one daughter, Linda of Omaha; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
Jacquelyn Brown
Jacquelyn J. Brown, 75, of Grand Island, died Wednesday Dec. 15, 1999, at the St. Francis Memorial Health Center.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Onamae Waddel will officiate. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park cemetery in Grand Island.
There will be no visitation. Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Mrs. Brown was born June 17, 1924, to George and Mary (Doggett) Kister at Hastings. She lived in Hastings for two years before moving to Clay Center, where she attended school until she moved to Grand Island in 1939. She graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1942.
She married
Roger Brown on April 30, 1943, at Grand Island. After their marriage the couple lived in Grand Island. While in Grand Island she was employed by Stryker Floral.
She was active in Doll Collector's Club, she collected and sold antique dolls and she served as a Den Mother for Boy Scouts. She enjoyed gardening and flowers.
Survivors include her husband, two grandchildren and one brother, Tone Kister of Hastings.
She was preceded in death by one son, Marty Brown and one brother, Kenwood Kister.
