Anton Kuta
ORD -- Anton P. Kuta, 90, of Ord died Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999, at the Valley County Nursing Home in Ord.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. The Revs. Jim Warner and Bernard Berger will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord Catholic Cemetery. The Ord VFW and American Legion will conduct military rites.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Ord Memorial Chapel with a rosary at 2 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Mary's Catholic School.
Mr. Kuta was born Oct. 5, 1909, to Joseph and Anna (Evan) Kuta at Duncan. In 1913, the family moved to Valley County. He attended Eurek District 32 School.
He served in the U.S. Army in World War II from 1942 to 1943. He returned from the service and lived on the farm northwest of Ord in the Eurek Township of Valley County. He farmed until 1988, then moved to Ord where he lived until Nov. 25, 1999. He then became a resident of the Valley County Nursing Home because of a surgery.
He was a member of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church where he attended daily mass. He enjoyed polka music and played the violin and bass at local nursing homes.
Survivors include one niece, Rita (Mrs. Jack) Micek of Duncan; and three nephews, Robert Dush of Duncan, Gilbert Dush of Columbus and Elmer Dush of Norfolk.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley and Walter; and one sister, Teofelia Dush.
'Bob' May
CHAPMAN -- Robert L. "Bob" May, 61, of Chapman died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999, at St. Francis Skilled Care Center after an illness.
Memorial services will be at a later date. Mr. May was cremated.
Mr. May was born Jan. 15, 1938, at Aurora to John and Vivian (Thompson) May. He grew up and graduated from Chapman High School. He worked with his father in the family business, May Plumbing. He worked most of his life in gas and petroleum installations and also worked 14 years for Bosselman Inc.
He is a member of the Masonic Lodge in Chapman. He enjoyed restoring both old and new musical instruments and he also enjoyed playing many of those instruments.
Mr. May is survived by one son, Bill of Grand Island; one granddaughter; his father, John of Tampa, Fla.; and one sister, Sharon Van Trump of Tampa, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
James Moore
MARQUETTE -- James LeRoy Moore, 57, of Marquette died Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999, at the York General Hospital in York.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. The Rev. Joe Scahill will officiate. Burial will be north of Central City in the Burke Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Higby Mortuary in Aurora.
Mr. Moore was born Jan. 19, 1942, to William and Francis (Gabrieal) Moore at Coquille, Ore.
He married
Judy Grigsby on April 21, 1968. He worked for the York County Department of Roads for 27 years. He also worked at Community Sales in Central City.
He enjoyed fishing and auctions.
Survivors include his wife; three children, Curtis and Donna, both of Marquette and Jacky of Polk; three brothers, Bill Moore and Herb Moore, both of Savannah, Mo., and Mervin Moore of Sun Beach, Mo.; and three sisters, Merlene Maudlin of Dexter, Iowa, Verna Mae Reed of Des Moines, Iowa and JoAnn Pierson of Leon, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Irene Kula
BELLWOOD -- Irene F. Kula, 75, of Bellwood died Friday, Dec. 17, 1999 at the Butler County Health Care Center in David City.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peters Catholic Church in Bellwood with the Rev. Leo Seiker officiating. Burial will be in the Saints Peter and Mary's Presentation cemetery in Bellwood.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday at McKown Funeral Home and after 6:30 p.m. at the church. A vigil will be 7 p.m. at St. Peters Church. Visitation will continue from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
Mrs. Kula was born March 13, 1924, in Nance County to Alex and Rose (Zoucha) Lesiak.
She received her education at District 34 School in Nance County. She worked in Omaha and Chicago.
She married
Emil C. Kula on Jan. 15, 1947, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Krakow. Mrs. Kula worked at Dale Electronics in Columbus for 18 years before retiring in 1981.
She enjoyed crocheting, flowers and baking.
She is a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Bellwood, a member of P.C.C.W. and American Legion Auxiliary Post 327.
Survivors include her husband of Bellwood; four daughters, Angie (Mrs. Delbert) Klevemann and Cindy Sherman, both of Columbus, Maxine (Mrs. Tom) Hough of Bellwood and Connie (Mrs. David) Schmit of David City; three sons, David Kula of Idaho Falls, Idaho, John Kula of Schuyler and Tim Kula of Shelby; one sister, Theresa (Mrs. Louis) Prososki of Le Center, Minn.; five brothers, Al Lesiak, Bert Lesiak and Rich Lesiak, all of Columbus, Gene Lesiak of Oregon and Clifford Lesiak of Grand Island; 22 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Ruby Bearbower
WOLBACH -- Ruby D. Bearbower, 86, of Wolbach died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at the Greeley Care home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolbach. The Rev. Marsha Jark-Swain will officiate. Burial will be in the Hillside cemetery in Wolbach.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the family.

Mrs. Bearbower was born June 14, 1913, on a farm in Howard County to William and Josephine (Berney) Grossart. She was raised in Wolbach and attend Wolbach Public Schools where she graduated in 1932.
She then moved to Scottsbluff where she cared for an elderly couple.
She married
Clarence Bearbower in Scottsbluff. The couple later moved to California. He died March 8, 1979.
In the fall of 1982 she moved back to Wolbach to be near her family. She entered the Greeley Care Home on April 4, 1994.
She was member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Wolbach.
Survivors include one sister, Willa Berney and one brother, William of Grand Island.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Evelyn Cook, Lillian Wickard, Lila Terry and Agnes Patrick.
