Clint Douglass
BREWSTER -- Clint W. Douglass, 24, of Brewster, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Brewster Community Building. The Rev. Tim Pearson will officiate. Burial will be at a later date.
Iverson Memorial Chapel of Broken Bow is in charge of arrangements.
Larry Engel
WOOD RIVER -- Larry G. Engel, 51, of Wood River, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000 at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Services are pending with the Apfel Funeral Home in Wood River. There will be no visitation. Mr. Engel was cremated.
Mr. Engel was born May 4, 1949 in Grand Island to Earl and Ruth (Layher) Engel. He grew up in Hall County, attended District 77 School and graduated from Northwest High School in 1967.
Survivors include his mother and three sons, Randy, Robert and Russel.
He was preceded in death by his father and infant brother.
Pauline Lind
ST. PAUL -- Pauline Lind, 92, of St. Paul, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. The Rev. Larry Lepper will officiate. Burial will be in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park cemetery in Omaha.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church of St. Paul.
Mrs. Lind was born on April 11, 1908 in Pittsburgh, Penn. to Earl and Helen (Bierer) Lanyon. She moved to Omaha with her family at the age of seven and attended Omaha public schools. After graduation, where was employed in clerical work for an attorney in Omaha.
She married
Herbert Noll on April 14, 1945 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She was a secretary and bookkeeper for an appliance distribution business which the couple owned and operated until their retirement.
She was a member of the Unity Church in Omaha, where she played the organ.
She married
Vance Lind on June 11, 1973 in St. Paul. The couple lived in St. Paul.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of St. Paul, the Methodist Foundation and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She enjoyed yard work, embroidery, dogs and traveling.
Survivors include one stepdaughter, Delores Berry of Columbus; two stepsons, Archie of Grand Island and Herbert of Manhattan, Kan.; nine step-grandchildren, and ten stepgreat-grandchildren and two caregivers, Joan Switzer of St. Paul and Judith Griego of Marquette.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; two brothers, Robert, and Ken; on one sister, Lucille Wolf.
Theron Nolte
LOUP CITY -- Theron Nolte, 93, formerly of Ord, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000 at the Rose Lane Home in Loup City. Funeral Services are pending with the Ord Memorial Chapel.
Clarence Snodgrass
SPALDING -- Clarence L. Snodgrass, 90, of Spalding, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000 in the Friendship Villa in Spalding.
Funeral arrangements are pending with Dolce Scheef Mortuary.

Birdella Stevens
SHELTON -- Birdella J. Stevens, 93, of Shelton, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Shelton United Methodist Church. The Rev. John Ewton will officiate. Burial will be in the Shelton Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the church or the Shelton Emergency Unit. No visitation is planned.
Godberson Mortuary of Gibbon and Shelton is in charge of arrangements.
Donna Vanderheiden
BROKEN BOW -- Donna Vanderheiden, 60, of Broken Bow, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2000 at her home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Broken Bow. Father Todd Philipsen and Father Harry Kurtenbach will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic cemetery in Rockville.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at the Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow. A Christian wake service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association or the Melham Park Memorial.
Mrs. Vanderheiden was born May 15, 1940 in Boelus to Stephen J. and Gertrude (Sobieszczyk) Kalkowski. She grew up on a farm north of Boelus and graduated from Boelus High School in 1957.
She married
Donald Vanderheiden on Aug. 8, 1957 in Rockville. The couple lived in various communities including Boelus, Guide Rock, Fairfield, Crawford, Central City, Osmond, Falls City, Lincoln and Broken Bow. She drove a school bus and later drove for Pony Express.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Broken Bow and was involved in the Nebraska One Box Pheasant Hunt.
Survivors include her stepsons, William of Mobile, Ala., Timothy of North Platte and Randal of Kearney; two brothers, James Kalkowski of Rockville and Jerry Kalkowski of Kalamazoo, Mich.; two sisters, Mary Ellen Bruns of Grand Island and Marjorie Hierlmeier of Des Moines, Iowa; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one grandson.
Mary Wiener
AURORA -- Mary Vesta Wiener, 87, of Aurora, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000 in Aurora.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home in Lincoln. Burial will be in the Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday with the family receiving friends from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Aurora Memorial Community Care Center.
Mrs. Wiener was born in Manhattan, Kan. to William and Bessie (McInteer) Riggle.
She was a 52-year member of the College View Seventh Day Adventist Church, was a deaconess in the Dorcas Society and a volunteer at the Good Neighbor Center.
Survivors include one son, John of Aurora; one daughter, Gail Herlan of Fresno, Calif; one sister, Val June Gartside of Fort Collins, Colo.; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Evan R. "Jim" Wiener; one brother, William Riggle Jr.; and two sisters, Reba Asofsky and Wilma Quattrochi.
