'Denny' Keefe
CAIRO -- Dennis "Denny" F. Keefe, 56, of Cairo, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at St. Francis Skilled Care.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sargent. The Rev. Bernard M. Berger will officiate. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
Burial of the cremains will be in Mt. Hope cemetery in Sargent, following the services. A Scripture rosary service will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Rhoad Funeral Home in Sargent.
Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice. Curran Funeral Chapel in Grand Island is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Keefe was born Nov. 17, 1944, at rural Garfield County to Francis and Audrey (Hansen) Keefe. He grew up and received his education in rural Valley and Custer Counties in Nebraska. He graduated from Sargent High School in 1963. He entered the Army on Aug. 18, 1965.
He married
Adell Smith on Dec. 27, 1966, at Sargent. They lived at Ft. Bragg until his honorable discharge in August 1967. They moved to Lafayette, Colo. and he worked as an electrician for 10 years. He worked on the construction of Gerald Gentleman Plant in Sutherland, and worked for several construction companies and was a ranch hand in North Platte and Western Nebraska before moving to Broken Bow in 1991.
He lived in Cairo since 1993, and was a thoroughbred horse trainer until ill health forced him to retire. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved horses and enjoyed roping and rodeos.
Survivors include two sons, Scott of Altoona, Iowa, and Ryan of Grand Island; one daughter, Suzanne Brazell of Dallas, Texas; three grandchildren; one brother, Tom of Sargent; three sisters, Shirley (Mrs. Stan) Gottula of Merna, Cheryl (Mrs. Frosty) Nevius of McCook and Diane Anderson of Scottsbluff.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Robert.
Lela Walden
COLUMBUS - Lela M. Walden, 88, of Columbus, formerly of Albion, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at the Columbus Manor.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 26 at the Highland Park Evangelical Church in Columbus. The Rev. Bill Menke will officiate. Burial will be in the Rose Hill cemetery in Albion.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Levander Funeral Home in Albion.

Dr. A.G. Zuspan
LINCOLN -- Dr. Arba Gordon Zuspan, 93, of Lincoln, formerly of Aurora, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, in Lincoln.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church in Aurora. The Revs. Glenn R. Palmberg and Mary McQueen will officiate. Burial will be at the Aurora Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Higby Mortuary in Aurora.
Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church.
Dr. Zuspan was born Dec. 12, 1907, to Wick and Rosa Bell (Allen) Zuspan in LaBell, Mo. He grew up in Missouri and graduated from Kirksville Medical School, Culver-Stockton College and the University of Missouri at Columbia. His first job was in Tennessee for one year before he moved to Aurora.
He married
Helen Van Berg on June 14, 1938 in Canton, Mo. He was a family osteopath doctor for 55 years in Aurora, before he retired in 1992. Mrs. Zuspan died Jan. 1, 1994.
He lived in Lincoln following his retirement.
Dr. Zuspan was a member of the First Christian Church in Aurora, past member of the Aurora School Board and Aurora Planning Commission. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Tehama Shrine and Scottish Rite Valley, all of Hastings. Dr. Zuspan was also a member of the Nebraska Osteopathic Association.
Survivors include one son, Bill of Lincoln; two grandchildren; and a brother, Newell Zuspan of Omaha.
In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by one brother, Farris Zuspan.
Eva Sears
BOZEMAN, Mont. -- Eva Sears, 90, of of Bozeman, Mont., died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, in Bozeman.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Rhoad Funeral Chapel in Sargent. Mark Crist will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
William Wolanski
HOUSTON, Texas -- William Michael Wolanski, four-month-old son of Michael and Traci Wolanski of Texas, formerly of Grand Island, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at the Northeast Medical Center in Houston, Texas.
Services are pending with Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.
Nancy Hupp
Nancy J. Hupp, 46, of Grand Island, died Sunday, April 22, 2001, at her home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Third City Christian Church in Grand Island. The Rev. Jerry Quandt will officiate. Burial will be at the Wiegert cemetery northeast of Grand Island.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family.
Dale Burkhardt
PLEASANT DALE -- Dale Burkhardt, 62, of Pleasant Dale, died April 21, 2001, at his home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pleasant Dale. The Rev. Louis Griser will officiate. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at the Rosehill cemetery in Palmer.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m., at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete and one hour before the service.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Survivors include his wife Eilene; four sons, Kim of Omaha, Kent of Pleasant Dale, Kenneth of Angie and Keith of Pleasant Dale; four brothers, Robert of Palmer, Gary of St. Paul, Gene of Grand Island and Rick of Central City; four sisters, Darlene (Mrs. Delbert) Miller of Central City, Evelyn Peetz of Palmer, Donna (Mrs. Harold) Berst of Crete and Carolyn (Mrs. Paul) Scarborough of St. Paul; and seven grandchildren.
Frances Collingham
AURORA -- Frances Collingham of Aurora died Sunday, April 22, 2001, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Omaha.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Messiah Lutheran Church in Aurora. The Revs. Al Duminy and Jim Garfield will officiate. Burial will be in the Aurora Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Higby Mortuary in Aurora.
Robert Foglesong
KEARNEY -- Robert "Bob" Foglesong, 62, of Kearney, died Saturday, April 21, 2001, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the First Lutheran Church in Kearney. The Rev. Jerry Gilbreath will officiate. Graveside services will be at 3:45 p.m. in the Minden Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday at the Layton Funeral Home in Minden and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Kearney.
Memorials are suggested to the First Lutheran Church or St. John's Center in Kearney.
Mr. Foglesong was born Oct. 4, 1938, in Sutherland to Jess and Anna (Zoerb) Foglesong. He grew up in North Platte and later moved to Denver, graduating from Lakewood High School. After graduation, he moved to Kearney and worked with his father.
He married
Marlene Jorgensen Hansen on Aug. 30, 1965, in Kearney. He started a painting business named "Bob's Painting" in 1973.
He was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Kearney, the Nebraska Home Builders Association, the Nebraska Cornhuskers Touchdown Club and the Platte Valley Big Red Boosters.
He enjoyed classic cars, Nebraska Cornhusker football, and the music of Elvis Presley.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Sam of Grand Island; two daughters, Jill Roeder of Denver and Tara Foglesong of Kearney; one brother, Beryl of North Platte; one sister, Joan Higel of Geneva; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
