Roger 'Lewy' Lewis
TROY, Tenn. -- Roger Elmer "Lewy" Lewis, 39, of Troy, Tenn., died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, as the result of an automobile accident.
Memorial services will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Wagner Funeral Home in Central City with the Rev. Charles Pollard officiating.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mr. Lewis was born on Sept. 25, 1961, in San Diego to Dale and Bonnie (Phelps) Lewis. He moved to Nebraska as an infant and lived in Scottsbluff, Lodgepole and Milford before moving to Central City in 1965. He graduated from Central City High School in 1979.
He joined the U.S. Navy in 1979 and served until 1983. He then lived in Grand Island and Kearney.
He stayed with the Naval Reserve in Omaha until his return to the active Navy in 1987. He spent most of his naval career at sea aboard the USS Coral Sea, USS Albert David, USS Stanley, USS Sacramento and USS Mars. He was involved in the Iranian conflict and was on the last U.S. naval ship to pass through the Panama Canal.
The past two and a half years, he was on recruiting duty in Martin, Tenn. He was a Navy chief petty officer.

Deanna Crozier on July 20, 1991, in Portland, Ore.
He married
Billie (Baggett) Faulkner on Nov. 6, 2000, in Martin, Tenn.
He loved the Navy and being on the high seas. He also enjoyed fishing on the ocean and playing Santa at the Vets Club in Tennessee.
Survivors include his wife, Billie; one daughter, Heather of Portland, Ore.; his parents, Bonnie Lewis of Central City and Dale Lewis of Grand Island; two stepsons, Chris and Anthony Faulkner, both of Troy; one stepdaughter, Tiffany of Troy; one brother, David Lewis of Central City; and two sisters, Becky Kula of Phoenix and Natalie (Mrs. Joe) Sokolik of Grand Island.
James Melville
TUCSON, Ariz. -- James H. Melville, 67, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, in Tucson, Ariz.
Cremation will take place in Tucson. A celebration of life is planned by the family.
Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association or Polio Survivors of Tucson.
Mr. Melville was born Dec. 4, 1933, in Broken Bow to Willard C. and Doris (Davis) Melville.
He was a C.P.A. and started his career with Miller & Moore in Lincoln. He was a consultant with Milliman & Robertson of Omaha from 1962 through 1973. In 1974, he was named executive vice-president of Life of Montana in Bozeman, Mont. In 1984, he practiced with Holmes and Turner of Bozeman until his retirement in 1993.
He was a member of St. Phillips Episcopal Church and the Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia (Craren) Melville; three daughters, Belinda Merrill, Annette Hawkins and Kelly Beliaj; two sons, James and Patrick; and numerous grandchildren.
Delbert Brown
Delbert M. Brown, 76, of Grand Island, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at St. Francis Skilled Care.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Gollaher Chapel with the Revs. Onamae Waddel and Del Roper officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church.
Kleine Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to Trinity United Methodist Church or the Grand Island Adult Day Care Center.
'Paul' Hornbach
William P. "Paul" Hornbach, 45, of Grand Island died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at his home.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerry Quandt will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mr. Hornbach was born Oct. 31, 1955, at Hayti, Mo., to Vernon Hornbach and Emogene "Jackie" Odom. He grew up and attended school in Hayti.
He worked as a welder until about eight years ago when he became disabled with diabetes.
He enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his mother, Emogene "Jackie" Odom of Grand Island; his father, Vernon Hornbach of Kansas City, Kan.; two daughters, Leslie and Leeanda, both of Missouri; one son, Jerry Paul of Missouri; and one brother, Robert of Arkansas.
Owen Ingerson
Owen C. Ingerson, 75, of Grand Island died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott, Ariz.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, at the American Evangelical Lutheran Church in Prescott. The Rev. Daniel Storvick will officiate. Internment will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Redwood Memorial Gardens in Dewey, Ariz.
Memorials are suggested to the Prescott High School Band Boosters or the donor's choice.
Mr. Ingerson was born June 16, 1925, in Atchison, Kan. He attended Atchison High School, graduating in 1943. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He married
Shirley Wenzel, who preceded him in death in 1949. He married
Ellen Gruber in 1950, and they celebrated 50 years of marriage this past June.
Mr. Ingerson attended Nurses' Training at the Newman School of Nursing in Emporia, Kan. He worked for 26 years as a registered nurse at the Veterans Affairs Hospitals in Prescott and Grand Island.
Mr. Ingerson was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Grand Island. He was an avid woodworker, mechanic and fix-it man. He shared his talents with many organizations throughout the years, including the YMCA and the Boy Scouts of America.
Survivors include his wife two sons, Stephen of St. Paul, Minn. and Andrew of Tucson, Ariz.; three daughters, Dena Jones and Kristine Foster, both of Prescott and Cheryl Dietzel of Tucson, Ariz.; and 10 grandchildren.
Anthony Rogers Radziewicz
OMAHA -- Anthony B. Rogers Radziewicz, 82, of Omaha died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at the Mercy Care Center in Omaha.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Farwell. The Rev. Daniel Wittrock will officiate. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Westlawn Memorial Park cemetery in Grand Island.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church, with a 7 p.m. vigil service.
Memorials are suggested to St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

Mr. Rogers Radziewicz was born Nov. 10, 1918, at Luzerne, Pa., to Benjamin and Theofilia (Czarniecki) Radziewicz. He attended Sts. Peter and Paul Elementary School in Plains, Pa. and graduated from Plains High School.
He then attended St. Mary's College in Orchard Lake, Mich., St. Mary's Seminary in Emmitsburg, Md. and Sts. Cyril and Methodius Seminary in Detroit.
Mr. Rogers Radziewicz was ordained as a Roman Catholic priest on June 3, 1944 in Detroit. He served in the Grand Island Diocese from 1944 to 1973, serving parishes in St. Paul, Spalding, North Platte, Chadron, Sutherland, Ravenna, Elm Creek and Farwell.
He married
Odelia A. Jerabek Oct. 13, 1973, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The couple lived in Omaha where he worked as an employment counselor at Nebraska Job Services until retiring in 1990. He then worked as a counselor at Boy's Town and Idelman Telemarketing and volunteered at St. Stephen's Homeless Shelter.
He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Omaha. He attended church daily and enjoyed fishing, gardening and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, DeAnna (Mrs. Brad) Walter and Tonia Rogers, both of Omaha and Jackie (Mrs. Ron) Synowski of St. Paul; one son, Scott Porter of Aurora, Colo.; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Sister Mildred Radziewicz of Laguna Hills, Calif. and Florence Radziewicz of Omaha.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Blessner.
