Louise Lenstrom
SPOKANE, Wash.-- Louise Lenstrom, 83, of Spokane, Wash., formerly of Comstock, died Jan. 12, 2001.
Services were Wednesday in Spokane. Additional services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Rhoad Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Mark Crist will officiate. Burial will be in the Douglas Grove cemetery in Comstock.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Roger Lewis
Troy, Tenn. -- Roger Elmer "Lewy" Lewis, 39, of Troy, Tenn. died Jan. 17, 2001 as the result of an automobile accident.
Memorial services will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Wagner Funeral Home in Central City with Rev. Charles Pollard officiating.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mr. Lewis was born Sept. 25, 1961 to Dale and Bonnie (Phelps) Lewis in San Diego. He moved to Nebraska as an infant, and lived in Scottsbluff, Lodgepole and Milford before moving to Central City in 1965.
He graduated from Central City High School in 1979.
He joined the U.S. Navy in 1979 and served until 1983. He then lived in Grand Island and Kearney.
He stayed with the Naval Reserve in Omaha until his return to the Active Navy in 1987. He spent most of his Naval career at sea aboard the USS Coral Sea, USS Albert David, USS Stanley and USS Mars. He was involved in the Iranian conflict and was on the last U.S. Naval ship to pass through the Panama Canal.
The past two years he was on recruiting duty in Martin, Tenn. He was a Navy chief petty officer.
He married
Lisa Becker on May 24, 1986.

Deanna Crozier in Portland, Ore.
On Nov. 6, 2000 he married
Billie (Baggett) Faulkner in Martin, Tenn.
He loved the Navy and being on the high seas. He also enjoyed fishing on the ocean and playing Santa at the Vets Club in Tennessee.
Survivors include his wife, Billie of Troy; one daughter, Heather of Portland, Ore.; his parents, Bonnie Lewis of Central City and Dale Lewis of Grand Island; two stepsons, Chris and Anthony Faulkner, both of Troy; one stepdaughter, Tiffany of Troy; one brother, David Lewis of Central City; two sisters, Becky Kula of Phoenix and Natalie (Mrs. Joe) Sokolik of Grand Island.
Virginia Rumery
Virginia A. Rumery, 70, of Grand Island died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at her home.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Wagner Funeral Home in Central City. The Rev. Joy Savage will officiate. Burial will be in the Central City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mrs. Rumery was born on June 27, 1930, at Polk to Clyde and Ruth (Tinker) Green. She grew up in Polk and graduated from Polk High School in 1946.
She married
Walter E. Glatter on July 20, 1947, at Stromsburg. They lived in Stromsburg, York, Central City and Grand Island. She was employed as the manager of Hested's in Central City. In 1970, she became the assistant manager of Hested's in Grand Island.
Her husband died July 6, 1972. She then accepted a manager position of the Hastings Hested's store.
She married
Lester R. Rumery on July 16, 1975, in Las Vegas. The couple lived in Mankato, Kan., and moved to Grand Island in the early 1980's. She worked at the Kmart store for about 18 years, and was working at Walgreens at the time of her death.
Mr. Rumery died in 1990.
Mrs. Rumery was a member of the Eagles and enjoyed dancing, playing cards and doing crossword puzzles.
Survivors include one son, Rodney Lee Glatter of Denver; two daughters, Diana (Mrs. Kim) Ross of Central City and Linda (Mrs. Gary) Wegner of Grand Island; three sisters, Violet Munn of Central City, Arlene Eklund of Bradshaw and Geneva (Mrs. Bill) Rosser of Garnett, Kan.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and special friend, Louis Moul, Sr. of Hampton.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands and one brother, Homer Green.
Lynn Sweeney
Lynn David Sweeney, 75, of Grand Island died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at St. Francis Skilled Care.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Monday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grand Island. The Rev. Frank Hoelck will officiate. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the New Helena cemetery near Anselmo.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow.
Memorials are suggested to the family.

Mr. Sweeney was born on July 11, 1925, at Merna to Edward James and Delia (Kaelin) Sweeney. He was raised on a farm west of Merna. He attended school and graduated from Anselmo High School in 1943.
He served in the United States Air Corps during World War II.
He married
Mary Lou Lindly on Nov. 27, 1953, at Anselmo. They moved to Grand Island in 1955. Mr. Sweeney worked at the V.A. Hospital for 13 years. In 1969, he enrolled in nurses training at St. Francis School of Nursing, graduating with his R.N. in 1971. He worked at Lutheran Memorial Hospital until his retirement in 1987.
He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Platt-Duetsche and American Legion. He enjoyed doing crafts and dancing.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Randy; three sisters, Helen Davis of Corpus Christi, Texas, Genevieve Fraser of Litchfield and Rita Schwieger of Grand Island; and one brother, Edwin of Mullen.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Thomas Egan
OMAHA -- Thomas J. Egan III, 69, from Omaha died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001, at his home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Westside Chapel in Omaha. The Rev. Alfred Salanitro will officiate. Burial will at 2:15 p.m. Monday at Holy Cross cemetery in Schuyler.
A wake service will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Westside Chapel.
John A. Gentleman Westside Chapel in Omaha is in charge of arrangements.
He was born April 16, 1931, in Grand Island to Thomas Egan II and Esther (Struebing) Egan.
Survivors include one son, Thomas IV; and seven daughters, Debi Edie, Renee Petersen, Linda Negrete, Peggy Smith, Denise Egan, Beth Johnson and Marilyn Negrete; one sister, Kathryn Keolher; eighteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn Brezina.
