Larry Schager
Larry D. Schager, 63, of Grand Island, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Public services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Joel Schroeder will officiate. Burial will be at the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or the Salvation Army.
Mr. Schager was born on April 24, 1937, in Hartington to Henry and Eunice (Elliot) Schager. The family moved to Grand Island when he was 10 years old. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1955 and attended Kearney State College.
He married
Margo Webster on Dec. 26, 1959, in Grand Island. He then went to work with his father at Grand Island Abstract.
He was past president of the Cosmopolitan Club, and was the past president of the Nebraska Land Title Association. He was also appointed to the abstracters board of examiners by Gov. Exon.
Mr. Schager was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Wood River Country Club, Riverside Golf Club, the Cosmopolitan Club, American Legion, Platt-Duetsche, and the Eagles Club.
Survivors include his wife of Grand Island; one son, Hal Schager of Grand Island; one daughter, Marnie Sundermeier of Grand Island; one grandson; one brother, Loren Schager of Redding, Calif.; and two sisters Jean Ciccione of River Grove, Ill., and Juna Schaffer of Lincoln.
Amanda Rogers
Amanda D. Rogers, 63, of Grand Island died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Chapel in Grand Island with the Rev. Dominic Pecoraro officiating. Burial will be in the Cameron cemetery in Cameron. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
Mrs. Rogers was born on Aug. 31, 1937, to Frank and Lydia (Goehing) Clark on a farm northwest of Wood River. She grew up and was educated in Wood River.
She married
Wayne Loghly in 1951. She married
Leonard Poppert in 1959, and on April 20, 1969, she married
Gary Rogers in Hastings. The couple lived in Grand Island.
She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed playing bingo.
Survivors include her husband, Gary, of Grand Island; three daughters, Christine Golden of Grand Island, Thea Lynn Poppert of Greeley, Colo., and Angela Mae Poppert of Grand Island; nine grandchildren; and one sister, Donna Towler of Grand Island.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wayne; an infant brother, and two half-brothers.
John Petteys
BURWELL -- John B. Petteys, 69, of Burwell died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at the Rose Lane Nursing Home in Loup City.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Church in Burwell. Burial will be in Cottonwood cemetery with the Rev. Rolly Salts officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell.
Memorials are suggested to the Burwell Community Fund for library improvement.

'Jake' Hahn
KEARNEY -- Jacob "Jake" C. Hahn, 24 of Kearney, formerly of Grand Island, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with the Rev. John D. Russell officiating. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Curran Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
Jodi L. Schmaderer
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Jodi L. Schmaderer, 29, of Iowa City, Iowa, formerly of St. Paul, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinic in Iowa City, Iowa.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul with the Rev. Michael McDermott officiating. She will be cremated following the service.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church with a 7 p.m. vigil service. Peters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to an educational fund for her children.
Ms. Schmaderer was born May 3, 1971, to Mel and Linda (Jablonski) Schmaderer in St. Paul, where she grew up. She graduated from St. Paul High School in 1989 and from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 1997 with an undergraduate degree in psychology. She earned her master's degree in counseling in 1999.
On June 5, 1993, she married
Kenneth Keber in St. Paul. She lived in Kearney for several years where she was employed by the WIC program and as assistant director of residential assistance for families in transition. In 1999, she moved to York and worked as a counselor at Epworth Village. In 2000, she moved to Iowa City.
She was a volunteer for the United Way First Call for Help in Kearney and enjoyed reading, music and dance.
Survivors include two daughters, Jourdan and Ryan Keber, both of Lincoln; special friend, Amy Louis of Iowa City; her parents, Mel and Linda Schmaderer of St. Paul; two sisters, Jill (Mrs. Doug) Orton of Blair and Sarah Schmaderer of Lincoln; one brother, Jason Schmaderer of Lincoln; grandparents, Bob and Marcella Jablonski of Loup City, and her grandmother, Helen Schmaderer of Stuart.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Joseph Schmaderer.

Alice "Ruth" Mack, 76, of Grand Island, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

SARGENT-- Albert J. Brass, 83, of Sargent died Feb. 28, 2001, at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rhoad Funeral Chapel in Sargent. The Revs. Mark Crist and Bernard Berger will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery with military graveside services.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
