Emma Glinsmann
ASHTON-- Emma Glinsmann, 88, of Ashton died Monday, Jan. 29, 2001, at St. Francis Hospital in Grand Island.
Services pending with Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City.
Gertrude Bandt
WOLBACH-- Gertrude L. Bandt, 90, of Wolbach died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at the Howard County Community Hospital in St. Paul.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. The Rev. Gerald Carlson will officiate. Burial will be in the Hillside cemetery in Wolbach.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Jacobsen-Greenway.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Francis Hospice.
Mrs. Bandt was born Feb. 25, 1910, to John and Yarda (Carlson) Nestor in Wolbach. She grew up in the O'Connor area in Greeley County. She attended school at O'Connor, graduating from the O'Connor High School in 1927 with honors.
She married
Patrick J. Gibbons on Sept. 5, 1928, in Lincoln. They lived on a farm near Wolbach and later moved into Wolbach. In 1937, they moved to the state of Washington, where she was employed for the Boeing Aircraft Co. for 20 years. She retired in 1972. Mr. Gibbons died in 1974.
In 1976, she moved back to Wolbach to make her home. She married
Overton Bandt on August 7, 1978, in Alma. They made their home in Wolbach. Mr. Bandt died on August 9, 1985. Mrs. Bandt then made her home with her son in Washington. She later returned to Wolbach to live with her daughter.
Survivors include one son, John of Renton, Wash.; three daughters, Beverlye A. McDonald of Kent, Wash., Patricia F. Marinkovich of Castro Valley, Calif., and Sandra M. (Mrs. Michael) McIntyre of Wolbach; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Burcham of Emmett, Idaho and Geraldine Hysell of Vale, Ore.; and special friend, Ted Klein of Washington state.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Patrick and Overton; two sons, Eugene and Timothy Gibbons; one daughter, Maureen Humphreys; three brothers, Joe, Ray and Gerald Nestor; one sister, Leona Anderson and two grandchildren.
Nora Carlson
HASTINGS -- Nora Carlson, 98, of Hastings died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, at Perkins Pavilion.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Westlawn Memorial Park cemetery in Grand Island. The Rev. Joe Scahill will officiate.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials are suggested to the Hastings Retired Teachers Association Scholarship Fund.
Butler-Volland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Carlson was born on April 20, 1902, in Eustis to William and Louise (Weber) Hueftle. She graduated from Eustis High School and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
She married
Harold Carlson in 1944 in Seattle. They lived in Bremerton, Wash., Rochester, Minn., and other places. She taught school for 22 years. She taught at Alcott Elementary School in Hastings for nine years.
Mrs. Carlson was past president of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Hastings Retired Teachers Association.
She moved to the Kensington in Hastings in 1989 and later to Good Samaritan Village.
Survivors include one stepdaughter, Lois Kodada of Northfield, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one step-daughter, Audrey Quinlan.
H.S. 'Jack' Duvall
ORD -- H.S. "Jack" Duvall, 85, of Ord died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, at the Valley County Nursing Home in Ord.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ord. The Rev. Gerald Roggow will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ord Memorial Chapel.
Memorials are suggested to the St. John's Lutheran Church or the donor's choice.
Winnie Ferguson
ANSLEY -- Winnie Mae Ferguson, 69, of Ansley died Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, at the Jennie Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Church in Ansley. The Revs. Mel Shepherd and Jim Ferguson will officiate. Burial will be in the Ansley Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Ferguson was born July 22, 1931, at Sharondale, Ky., to Percy and Mariah (Trout) Hough. At the age of five, her family moved to Narrows Branch, Ky. She attended grade school there. After the death of her father, the family lived in Stone, Ky., during the winter months and at Narrow Branch during spring and summer. She attended high school at Belfry, Ky. After her mother remarried, the family moved to Utica, Mich., in 1949. She helped care for her younger siblings and did housework, as well as working in a greenhouse. In 1951, they moved to Rosevill, Mich., where she worked in a cafe and babysat.
She married
Ernie Lyle Ferguson on May 26, 1953. He was stationed with the Air Force at Mount Clemens, Mich. In the fall of 1955 they moved to Ansley and then to North Loup. In 1958, they moved to a farm north of Miller. They moved back to Ansley in 1964, where they lived until her death.
Mrs. Ferguson was a member of the First Christian Church in Ansley and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband Ervie Lyle Ferguson Sr. of Ansley; one son, Ervie Jr. of Ansley; one daughter, Debra (Mrs. David) Haumont of Broken Bow; four grandchildren; three sisters, Helen Ratliff and Joan Bishop, both of Michigan and Marchetta Deskins of Arizona; two brothers, John Hough of California and Franklin Hough of Arizona; and one half-brother, Curtis Farley Jr. of Michigan.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, one sister, infant son and a grandson.
Meta Jacquot
BROKEN BOW-- Meta C. Jacquot, 88, of Broken Bow, formerly of rural Anselmo, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at Jennie Melham Hospital in Broken Bow.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Broken Bow. The Rev. Todd Philipsen will officiate. Burial will be in the Dale Catholic cemetery west of Merna.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Govier Brothers Mortuary. A Christian wake service will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Chatholic Church.
Mrs. Jacquot was born May 2, 1912, near Doniphan to Frederick and Christina (Blaise) Steinmeyer. She attended country school and graduated from St. Mary's High School in Grand Island. She then taught country school in Hall County near Grand Island for eight years.
She married
Cecil Jacquot on Oct. 26, 1937, at Giltner. They lived on various farms in the Merna community until settling on the Jacquot homestead.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the altar society.
Survivors include her husband, Cecil of Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Broken Bow; one son, Bill Jacquot of Loveland, Colo.; five daughters, Patsy Downey of Merna, Jeanne (Mrs. Bill) Miller of Anchorage, Alaska, Marita (Mrs. K.C.) Gottschalk of Broken Bow, Mary Coffman of Broken Bow and Kathryn (Mrs. Michael) Sledge of Omaha; one daughter-in-law, Patti Jacquot of Anselmo; 29 grandchildren, and 45 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Jerry; infant daughter, Mary Elaine; infant brother, Edward; and sister, Margaret.
