Helen Marquard
OCONOMOWOC, Wis. -- Helen F. Marquard, 88, of Oconomowoc, Wis., formerly of Grand Island, died Friday, March 2, 2001, at Shorehaven Health Care Center in Oconomowoc, Wis.
Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Kettle Moraine United Presbyterian Church in Stone Bank, Wis. The Rev. Dee Anderson will officiate. Cremation with burial will be in the Ord cemetery in Ord.
Visitation will follow the memorial service at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the Kettle Moraine United Presbyterian Church or West Granville Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Marquard was born Nov. 14, 1912, in Berwyn to Roy Worden and Ollie Stark. She married
Donald C. Marquard. She formerly worked in the restaurant business in Grand Island.
She attended the West Granville Presbyterian Church in Milwaukee.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna Anderson of Stone Bank, Wis.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Elaine (Charles) Kennedy of Klamath Fall, Ore.
She was preceded in death by her husband, son, Rodney Marquard and one grandson.
Henrietta 'Hattie' Buckbee
SARGENT -- Henrietta "Hattie" Buckbee, 86, of Sargent died Thursday, June 24, 1999, at the Sargent Health and Rehab Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Rhoad Funeral Chapel in Sargent. Burial will be in Douglas Grove cemetery at Comstock.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Frank Gonsior
CENTRAL CITY -- Frank J. Gonsior, 71, of Central City died Thursday, June 24, 1999, at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Central City. The Rev. Nelson Newman will officiate. Burial will be in the Clarks Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Solt Funeral Home with a vigil at 7 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mr. Gonsior was born on March 5, 1928, in Genoa to Charles Sr. and Cecelia (Jarecky) Gonsior. He was raised and attended school in the Nance County area.
He married
Stella Carolyn Beck on June 15, 1946, in Clarks. The couple lived and farmed in Nance, Polk and Merrick counties.
He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and woodworker.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Michael of Fullerton; a daughter, Patricia Ksiazek of Clarks; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, James; five brothers; and three sisters.
Alice Jurgens
GIBBON -- Alice M. Jurgens, 74, of Gibbon died Wednesday, June 23, 1999, in Kearney.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Gibbon Baptist Church. The Rev. Barbara Spangler will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery in Gibbon.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Horner-Lieske-Horner Mortuary in Kearney and before services Tuesday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mrs. Jurgens was born on April 26, 1925, near Wood River to William and Mae (Baker) Schroeder. She grew up and attended school in the Wood River area.
She married
Elmer A. Jurgens on Dec. 16, 1941, in Smith Center, Kan. They moved to Gibbon and lived there for the rest of their lives. She did baby-sitting for many years.
Survivors include her husband; six daughters, Ellamay McCormick of Fontana, Calif., Ruth Galloway and June Blumenthal, both of Gibbon, Connie Shafer of Lincoln, Carol Wilkie of Anselmo and Pam Franks of Shelton; two sons, Lonnie of Gibbon and Paul of Shelton; three brothers, Eli Schroeder of Amherst, Glen Schroeder of Kearney and Ray Schroeder of El Paso, Texas; and a sister, Shirley Roberts of Alda.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Harold Graczyk
LUTZ, Fla. -- Harold C. Graczyk, 82, of Lutz, Fla., formerly of St. Libory, died Thursday, June 24, 1999, at University Community Hospital in Tampa, Fla.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Libory's Catholic Church in St. Libory. The Rev. David Rykwalder will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery with flag folding and presentation by Carl Mogensen American Legion Post 119 of St. Paul.
Visitation will be one hour before services Monday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
Peters Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Graczyk was born on May 21, 1917, at Wolbach to Frank and Rose (Buddecke) Graczyk. Upon the death of his parents, he moved to St. Libory to live with his grandmother. He attended St. Libory's Parochial School and graduated from Grand Island Senior High.
After completing his education, he moved to California. He served as a tank commander in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was discharged and returned to California.
He married
Louise R. Spar on July 18, 1969, in Garden Grove, Calif. The couple lived in Garden Grove, where he worked for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Corp. for 26 years. He retired in 1977, and the couple moved to St. Libory. They moved to Tampa, Fla., in 1982 and to Lutz, Fla., in 1987.
He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Tampa.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Barry Graczyk of Honolulu and Edward Graczyk of Granada Hills, Calif.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother and one sister, Sister Mary Rosata.
Maxine Carlson
Maxine V. Carlson, 83, of Grand Island died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, at Tiffany Square Care Center.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home with the Rev. Lonnie Logan officiating. Private family graveside services will occur at a later date.
There will be no visitation. Mrs. Carlson was cremated.
Memorials are suggested to hospice or the American Heart Association.
Mrs. Carlson was born on Sept. 5, 1917, in Greeley County to Clifford and Edith (Raney) Peterson. She attended school in Fullerton.
She married
Wayne Carlson on Jan. 10, 1934, in Osceola. They lived on a farm north of Palmer. She helped her husband with book work and also was a homemaker.
Mr. Carlson died in 1979. Mrs. Carlson moved to Grand Island in 1981.
She was a member of the Methodist Church in Palmer, the Royal Neighbors and the Eagles. She loved playing the piano, reading, working crossword puzzles and fishing. She spent many hours in her flower garden.
Survivors include one son, Arvid Carlson of Grand Island; two daughters, Aimee Kamper of Hastings and Barbara Gillham of Grand Island; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul O. Peterson of Hagerman, Idaho; and one sister, Jacqulene Dee of Portland, Ore.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Williams.
