Jerry Fahrenbruch
Jerry K. Fahrenbruch, 53, of Grand Island died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Virgil E. Taylor will officiate. Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Fahrenbruch was born June 17, 1947, at Holdrege to Alfred and Emma (Sitzman) Fahrenbruch. He graduated from Bertrand High School in 1965. His education at the University of Nebraska was interrupted by a tour of duty in the U.S. Army in Vietnam.
He married
Diane Schuppan on Feb. 26, 1972, in Grand Island. They lived for a year in Omaha and for the rest of their married
lives in Grand Island. Mr. Fahrenbruch was employed by G.I. Dodge, and at the time of his death, was a sales representative for the Redfield and Company of Omaha.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Grand Island, where he served as an elder. He was also a member of Ducks Unlimited and the Riverside Golf Club.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Diane; a son, Jeff Fahrenbruch of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Amie Fahrenbruch of Denver, Colo.; his parents of Bertrand; and a brother, Jim Fahrenbruch of Loomis.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister.
Lawrence Richardson
Lawrence "Larry" D. Richardson, 65, of Grand Island died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Diller United Church of Christ. The Rev. V.F. Deditius will officiate. Burial will be at the Diller Cemetery. Kleine Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Richardson was born Feb. 10, 1935, at Odell to G. Leonard and Florence (Grone) Richardson. He attended Diller schools, and later served in the U.S. Airforce from April 22, 1952, to July 16, 1953. He was an insurance agent for more than 40 yeas.
He was a member of the American Legion, D.A.V., and the Eagles.
He enjoyed playing cards, traveling and socializing with friends.
Survivors include a son, Dan Richardson of Overland Park, Kan.; two daughters, Cynthia Civkulis of Lathe, Kan. and Kelli Spencer of Columbia, Md.; two grandchildren; and a sister, Eleanor Malchow of Beatrice.
Marie Backemeyer
Marie J. Backemeyer, 88, of Grand Island died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at the Wedgewood Care Center.
Services are pending with Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.
Beth Blomstrand
AURORA -- Beth Blomstrand, 76, of Aurora died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at her home.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. The Rev. Dr. Joe Scahill will officiate.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Higby Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mrs. Blomstrand was born March 25, 1924, at Omaha to Edwin and Rissie (Eggert) Huenefeld. She grew up on a farm south of Aurora. She attended country school and Aurora High School. She graduated from high school in Rogers, Ark., in 1941.
She married
Greg Blomstrand in 1945. They were later divorced.
Mrs. Blomstrand served as an administrative assistant for the Aurora Public Schools since 1969.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Aurora and the Aurora Planning Commission.
Survivors include three children, Kim of Denver, Colo., Tom of Aurora and John of Amery, Wis.; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
Dennis Boyce
NORTH LOUP -- Dennis Boyce, 52, of North Loup died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at the Valley County Hospital in Ord.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Ord Memorial Chapel in Ord. Burial will be at the Hillside cemetery in North Loup.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Michael Brasfield
AURORA -- Michael Brasfield, 55, of Aurora died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at the Aurora Memorial Hospital.
Services are pending with Higby Mortuary in Aurora.
Survivors include his wife, DeEtte of Aurora; a son, Brett Michael Brasfield of Bellevue; and a daughter, Kerri Elizabeth Brasfield of Overland Park, Kan.
Henry Christensen
RAVENNA -- Henry Christensen, 107, of Ravenna died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at the Good Samaritan Center in Ravenna.
Services are pending with Rasmussen Mortuary in Ravenna.
Mildred Seely
DONIPHAN -- Mildred A. Seely, 77, of rural Doniphan died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at her home.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home Chapel in Grand Island with the Rev. Kenneth L. McCain officiating. Burial will be in the Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the St. Francis Hospice or American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Seely was born Nov. 5, 1922, to William and Mattie (Pierson) Hill at Holbrook. She grew up and received her education in Holbrook, graduating from Holbrook High School. She married
Lloyd Seely on Aug. 21, 1945, at Norton, Kan. The couple then lived in the Doniphan area, where they farmed.
Mrs. Seely was baptised in the Methodist faith. She enjoyed reading, playing cards and being with her family and friends.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Seely of Grand Island and Thomas Seely of Doniphan; three daughters, Peggy (Mrs. John) Lipps of St. Libory, Joyce Seely of Doniphan and Judy Seely of Doniphan; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd.
