Anna Marie Longmore
SARGENT -- Anna Marie Longmore, 94, of Sargent, died Thursday, June 15, 2000, at the Sargent Nursing Center in Sargent.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Rhoad Funeral Chapel in Sargent. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery at Sargent.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Sargent Ambulance Fund.
Emma Poehler
CAIRO -- Emma Poehler, 97, of Cairo, died Thursday, June 15, 2000, at her home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Christ Lutheran Church in Cairo. The Rev. Glen Keylon will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant cemetery at Cairo.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Christ Lutheran Church in Cairo.
Memorials are suggested to Christ Lutheran Church, Lutheran Hour Ministries or Cairo Quick Response.
Apfel Funeral Home of Cairo is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Poehler was born Nov. 13, 1902, at St. Libory to Herman and Bertha (Tuenge) Kruse. She attended Zion Lutheran Parochial School at Worms.
She lived at home and worked and sewed for people until her marriage to Fred Poehler at Zion Lutheran Church at Worms on April 15, 1928. The couple lived on a farm southeast of Cairo.
Mr. Poehler died March 17, 1945. She continued to live on the farm until 1964 when she moved to the present home in Cairo.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid and Lutheran Womens Missionary League.
Survivors include one daughter, Elvera (Mrs. Donald) Rohweder of Wood River; one son, Ray Poehler of Cairo; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; three brothers, John Kruse of Westminster, Colo. and Walter and Rinehardt Kruse, both of Grand Island; and one sister, Erna Pohlman of Pocatello, Idaho.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one son, John; one daughter, Dorothy; two brothers; and seven sisters.
Enola Bacon
LINCOLN -- Enola K. Bacon, 91, of Lincoln, died Friday, June 16, 2000, at Blair Hospital in Blair.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Christian Church Chapel in Lincoln. The Rev. Joseph Eubanks will officiate. Burial will be at Lincoln Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday with family receiving friends from 3 to 5 p.m. at Metcalf Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church.
Mrs. Bacon was born Dec. 1, 1908, in Goodland, Kan.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, a former deaconess at the church, a past president of Christian Womens Fellowship, a past worthy matron of Eastern Star in Loup City and Lincoln, a DeMolay mother, a past state president of the Garden Club and as a youngster won a 4-H trip to Chicago.
Survivors include two sons, Richard of Grand Island and Kent of Blair; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
'Larry' Lewandowski
OMAHA -- Lawrence L. "Larry" Lewandowski, 62, of Omaha died Thursday, June 15, 2000, at his home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Westcenter Chapel and to Mary Our Queen Catholic Church in Omaha by 11 a.m. The Rev. Carl Salanitro will officiate. Burial will be in the Resurrection cemetery in Omaha.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday with a wake service at 4 p.m. and family receiving friends from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Westcenter Chapel.
Memorials are suggested to the Westside Foundation, Toys for Tots or the Ashton Historical Foundation.
Heafey, Heafey, Hoffmann, Dworak, Cutler Funeral Home in Omaha is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Lewandowski was born Oct. 28, 1937, in Loup City to Louis and Elizabeth Lewandowski.
He was a teacher at Westside Community School.
Survivors include his wife, Jean (Dayton) Lewandowski; two sons, Douglas of Sioux Falls, S.D. and Tom of Omaha; two daughters, Anne of Minneapolis and Karen of Omaha; his mother of Ashton; one granddaughter; two brothers, Gary of North Platte and Mike of Lincoln; and one sister, Jean (Mrs. Jim) Curlo of Ashton.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Richard.
Donna Stall
KEY WEST, FLA. -- Donna J. Stall, 71, of Key West, Fla., formerly of Archer, died Thursday, June 15, 2000 in Key West.
Funeral services are pending with Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home.
Joseph Fauquet
BROKEN BOW -- Joseph "Roy" Fauquet, 90, of Broken Bow died Saturday, September 16, 2000, at the Jennie Melham Hospital in Broken Bow.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20 at the First Baptist Church in Broken Bow. Dr. Charles Gregory and Rev. Ron Kowalski will officiate. Burial will be in the Broken Bow cemetery following the service.
Visitation will be 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Govier Brothers Mortuary. Memorials are suggested to the Stonecroft Ministries or the First Baptist Church Mission Fund.
Mr. Fauquet was born May 25, 1910 in Saunders County near Fremont to Ernest and Cora (Gruver) Fauquet. At 10 years of age the family moved to Mason City where he grew up and graduated from Mason City High School in 1928. After high school, he attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln to study agriculture. He farmed and ranched with his dad near Mason City.
He married
Margaurete Holcomb on March 24, 1940 at Mason City, where they lived. In 1947 the couple moved to Broken Bow where he worked at Custer Public Power. After that, he managed the Phillips 66 Gas Station for 10 years and worked for Becton Dickinson as a supervisor until retiring in 1975.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent, Treasurer, Deacon Emeritus, and the music committee. He also was the president of the Nebraska Baptist Men, the Chamber of Commerce and served for 12 years on the Broken Bow School Board and sang in the Custer Choristers for 10 years. In 1990 he was chosen as the Elk's Citizen of the Year.
Survivors include one daughter, Bette Fauquet of Kansas City, MO; two sister in laws, Neolia Holcomb of Ord, and Willa Mae Holcomb of Irvine, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; and one sister, Esther.
Margaret Harbottle
PRIMROSE -- Margaret E. Harbottle, 89, of Primrose, died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000 at the Cloverlodge Care Center in St. Edward.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19 at the First Presbyterian Church in Primrose. The Rev. Mary Avidano will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial cemetery in Fremont following the service.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Levander Funeral Home in Albion. There will be a 6:30 p.m. prayer service at the home.
Mrs. Harbottle was born January 16, 1911, on a farm northeast of Primrose to Robert and Clara (Severson) Harbottle. She received her education at Boone County School District #85 in the Dennison area. She moved to Fremont after High School and where she worked at the Bloom Family Neighborhood Grocery Store. She returned to Primrose where she worked for many families as a housekeeper and baby-sitter. She also worked as a clerk for the Primrose Post Office.
In the mid-1990s she moved to the Harmoney Homes in Albion where she lived until entering the Cloverlodge Care Center in St. Edwards in 1997.
Survivors include one niece, Sharen Seda of Albion; and one nephew, Lanny Long of Albion along with several grandnephews and grandnieces.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Darlene and Mildred; one brother, Lawrence.
