Charles Beyersdorf
Charles E. "Chuck" Beyersdorf, 68, of Grand Island died Monday, July 26, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services were Wednesday at Kleine Funeral Home. The Rev. Terry Brown officiated. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery in Omaha with military rites by the U.S. Army from Fort Riley, Kan.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Francis Cancer Research Center.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Charles W. Beyersdorf of Apache Junction, Ariz., John Killion of Austin, Texas, and Robert Beyersdorf of Watertown, Wis.; three daughters, Colleen (Mrs. Alan) Opfer-Bosselman of Grand Island, Lynne (Mrs. Glen) Sutton of Doniphan and Susie Sadowski of Mesa, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his mother, Lucille Beyersdorf of West Salem, Wis.; one brother, Floyd Beyersdorf of Tulsa, Okla.; and one sister, Susan (Mrs. Paul) Reimers of West Salem, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his father.
'Fritz' Rosenkotter
Frederick H. "Fritz" Rosenkotter, 102, of Grand Island died Wednesday, July 28, 1999, at Park Place Health Care and Rehab Center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Grace Lutheran Church. The Rev. Herbert Schutte will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to Gideons International, the Lutheran Hour or the church.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Harold Rosenkotter of Grand Island; two daughters, Pamela Rosenkotter of Grand Island and Deborah Spaulding of Shawnee, Kan.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by six sisters and three brothers.
Katarino Salinas
Katarino Salinas, 65, of Grand Island died Monday, July 26, 1999, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Omaha.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Rev. Tom Ryan will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., with a 7:30 p.m. parish rosary, at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Wanda Steckmyer
Wanda Steckmyer, 78, of Grand Island died Monday, July 26, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home. The Rev. Richard M. Bacon will officiate. Following cremation, burial will be at a later date in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church or to the National Federation of the Blind.
Mrs. Steckmyer was born on Jan. 6, 1921, at Lawrenceville, Ill., to Elmer and Edna (Leach) Simpson. She spent her childhood in Burlington, Iowa, and graduated from high school in 1940.
She moved to Grand Island in 1947. She was as an office worker at Rainbo Bakery until 1951.
She married
John Steckmyer on Sept. 21, 1950, in Fremont.
Mrs. Steckmyer was a member of the First Christian Church. She had been a member of Church Circle No. 5 since 1962 and served as a past deaconess. She had been a member of the National Federation for the Blind since 1987 and was a Red Cross blood drive volunteer.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Michael Steckmyer of Fort Collins, Colo., and Daniel Steckmyer at Des Moines, Iowa; one daughter, Patricia (Mrs. George) Grau of Blissfield, Mich.; one stepdaughter, Sharon (Mrs. Harold) Schuett of Houston; one grandchild; five step-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
Irene Arnold
ORD -- Irene Arnold, 92, of Ord died Tuesday, July 27, 1999, at the Valley County Nursing Home in Ord.
Mrs. Arnold was cremated. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ord Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Jim B. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery.

Mrs. Arnold was born on July 23, 1907, in Valley County to Tom and Mary (Viner) Lambdin. She attended country school at Mira Valley.
She married
Clayton Arnold on Oct. 24, 1926, at Ord. Mrs. Arnold worked in various cafés in Ord. She and her husband owned and operated the Diner Café for several years. Mr. Arnold died in May 1983. Mrs. Arnold lived at Parkview Village in Ord until her death.
She enjoyed playing solitaire and working puzzles.
Survivors include one daughter, Marilou Dahlin of Cheyenne, Wyo.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Bob Lambdin of Longview, Wash.; three sisters, Marie Dennis of Sun City, Calif., Dorothy Rebottero of Cloverdale, Calif., and Betty Dix of Las Vegas; and a special friend, John Gard of Ord.
She was preceded in death by one son, Richard Arnold; two brothers, Lavern and LeRoy Lambdin; two sisters, Maye Snider and Alma Anthoney; and two infant sisters, Ruth and Ruby Lambdin.
Alice Fair
BROKEN BOW -- Alice Pauline Fair, 80, of Broken Bow died Monday, July 26, 1999, at Jennie Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Berean Fundamental Church in Broken Bow. The Rev. Steve Hicks will officiate. Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow.
Memorials are suggested to the Nebraska Boys Ranch and the Cerebral Palsy Fund.
Mrs. Fair was born on Aug. 22, 1918, in Broken Bow to George and Fay (Beezley) Pomplun. She attended country schools and Broken Bow High School. She lived in the Custer County area all her life and lived the last 40 years in Broken Bow.
She married
Ralph Satchell Sr. in 1936.
She married
Jim Fair in 1959. She was a homemaker, farmer's wife and worked at Becton Dickinson in Broken Bow from 1963 to 1980.
She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Custer Campers and Golden Wheels Camping Club.
She enjoyed working in her flower gardens and making crafts.
Survivors include five sons, Edwin Satchell of Kerrville, Texas, Allen Satchell of Woodbury, Tenn., Gary Satchell of Huntsville, Texas, Terry Satchell of Pearland, Texas, and Don Fair of Omaha; six daughters, Jean (Mrs. Ed) Harding of Bennington, Shirley Andersen of Omaha, Carolyn Bubak of Gibbon, Jackie Larson of Elkhorn, Charlene (Mrs. Raymond) Modica of Haughton, La., and Linda (Mrs. Bub) Rynearson of Mason City; four stepsons, Junior Satchell of Kemp, Texas, Karl Fair of Oklahoma City, Okla., Leland Fair of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., and Ward Fair of Salina, Kan.; five stepdaughters, Betty Mae (Mrs. Bob) Peterson of Medford, Ore., Rose (Mrs. Dick) Green of Jefferson, S.D., Elaine Eberhart of Braceville, Ill., Marlene (Mrs. Kenneth) Fix of Omaha and Darlene (Mrs. Dick) Timperly of Bennington; 73 grandchildren; 98 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Bessie (Mrs. Jim) McMurtry of Scottsbluff; and one brother, Pete Pomplun of Elwood.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands; two stepdaughters, Letha Stratton and an infant; five stepsons, Max Fair, Marvin Satchell, Lyle Satchell and two infants; one grandchild; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Florence.
