Richard Driml
MCCOOK -- Richard L. Driml, 64, of McCook died Thursday, June 3, 1999, at BryanLGH Hospital in Lincoln.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Congregational Church in McCook. The Rev. Phil Ewert will officiate. Burial will be in the Fort McPherson National cemetery at Maxwell.
The family will be receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established.

Mr. Driml was born May 11, 1935, to Louis and Beulah (Sims) Driml at Alliance. He grew up at Alliance where he graduated from Alliance High School in 1953. He attended teachers college at Greeley, Colo., before entering the United States Navy. Following his discharge from the military he returned to Kearney State Teachers College where he received his master's degree in music.
He married
Shirley Ann Case on Dec. 30, 1958, at Alliance. He began teaching music at Hildreth and Adams Central High School in Hastings. For 10 years, he taught at Wood River before moving to McCook in 1979. He spent the past 20 years at McCook Community College where he was chairman of the music department. He was completing his doctorate at the time of his death.
He was past district governor of 38 L Lions Club, the McCook Elks Lodge, the Nebraska Art Council, the Nebraska Band Masters Association and the National Education Association.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Lynn (Mrs. Terry) Pinkal of Greeley, Colo., and Michele (Mrs. Matt) Winkelmann of North Platte; two sons, Richard Scott Driml of Paradise Valley, Ariz., and Darriel Driml of Las Vegas, Nev.; four grandchildren; his mother, Beulah Driml of Alliance; three brothers, Robert Driml of Grand Island, Norman Driml of Long Beach, Calif., and Frank Driml of Lake Elsinore, Calif.
Barbara Hansen
LINCOLN -- Barbara V. Hansen, 99, of Lincoln, formerly of Farwell, died Saturday, June 5, 1999, at the Lancaster Manor in Lincoln.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in St. Paul. The Rev. Larry Lepper will officiate.
Burial will be in the Scandinavian cemetery in Farwell.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Jacobsen Funeral Home in St. Paul.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Mrs. Hansen was born April 27, 1900, on the family farm near Farwell to Michael and Mary (Kvitcki) Markvicka. She attended rural school near Farwell, grew up in the area and then cared for her parents before her marriage.
She married
Charles Hansen on May 11, 1932, in Grand Island. The couple lived on the family farm near Farwell all their married
life. He died Sept. 12, 1980.
She continued to live on the farm until moving to Farwell in September 1985. In August 1993, she moved to Lincoln to live with her daughter and son-in-law.
In February 1999, she moved to Lancaster Manor and lived there until her death.
Survivors include a son, Glen of Farwell; a daughter, Arlette (Mrs. Virgil) Jacobsen of Lincoln; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, David; nine brothers, Joseph, Loddie, Rudolph, Stanley, Martin, Mike, Frank, Adolph and Jim; and five sisters, Antonia Voss, Anna Benson, Mary Wojtalewicz, Rose Ambrose and Frances Abel.
'Kay' Schaaf
ATKINSON -- Mary "Kay" Kathryn Schaaf, 81, of Atkinson died Monday, May 31, 1999, at Avera St. Anthony's Hospital in O'Neill.
Services were June 3 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The Revs. Wilfred Spenner and Mark Merkel officiated. Burial was in the St. Joseph's Catholic cemetery at Atkinson.
Seger Funeral Home in Atkinson was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Schaaf was born July 27, 1917, at Atkinson to Fred and Ruth (Freed) Barnes. She attained a 12th grade education.
She married
Elmer Schaaf on March 1, 1938, at Atkinson. She was a retired postal worker.
Survivors include four sons, Michael Schaaf of Algona, Iowa, Gerald Schaaf of O'Neill, Don Schaaf of Omaha and Gene Schaaf of Emmet; three daughters, Maureen (Mrs. Larry) Donlin of Aurora, Ruth (Mrs. O.J.) Armatys of Grand Island and Victoria Kuhn of Lincoln; two sisters, Lee Strong of Omaha and Louella Simons of O'Neill; two brothers, Bob Barnes of Simi Valley, Calif., and John Barnes of Omaha; 26 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Bernard; three brothers, Fritz, Chuck and Jim, and one sister, Agnes Schaaf.
Lila Holloway
Lila C. Holloway, 85, of Grand Island died Saturday, March 17, 2001, at St. Francis Memorial Health Center.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Onamae Waddel officiating. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
There will be no visitation. Mrs. Holloway was cremated.
Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Skilled Care.
Mrs. Holloway was born Nov. 4, 1915, in Elwood to George and Melissa (Courtright) Caswell. She grew up in Gothenburg and graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1934.
On Nov. 23, 1936, she married
Cecil R. Holloway in Julesburg, Colo. The couple lived in Madrid and in 1945 moved to Cairo. They moved to Grand Island in 1961, where they have lived since.
She was employed as a bookkeeper for Graf Motors and Cates Tire Co. She also worked part-time at the Richman-Gordman Store for 15 years. She retired in 1989.
Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Dawson of Grand Island; one son, Larry Holloway; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one brother, Darrell "Casey" Caswell of Cairo.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers.
Berniece Schumm
Berniece J. Schumm, 77, of Grand Island died Sunday, March 18, 2001, at the BryanLGH East Hospital in Lincoln.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rev. Don Larmore will officiate. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in the Parkview cemetery in Hastings.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday with a 7 p.m. Rosary at the church.

Ruth Adams
LOUP CITY -- Ruth A. Adams, 91, of Loup City died Sunday, March 18, 2001, at the Rose Lane Nursing Home in Loup City.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Loup City with the Rev. Heidi Revelo officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery in Loup City.
Visitation is planned from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City.
Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church or Rose Lane Nursing Home.
