Isabel Brown
CLARKS -- Isabel Brown, 93, of Clarks died Tuesday, May 2, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Congregational Church in Clarks. The Rev. Darryl Keeney will officiate. Burial will be in the Clarks Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the church.
Solt Funeral Home in Central City is in charge of arrangements.
Fritz Struempler
MASON CITY -- Fritz E. Struempler, 70, died Tuesday, May 2, 2000, at his home near Mason City.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Loup City. The Rev. Leon Zimmerman will officiate. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Christ Lutheran cemetery in the Buffalo community south of Oconto.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow.
Memorials have been established to the Mason City Rescue Unit or the Christ Lutheran cemetery Fund.
Edwin Volf
ORD -- Edwin Eugene Volf, 71, of rural Ord, died Tuesday, May 2, 2000, at the Valley County Hospital in Ord.
Mr. Volf's body was cremated. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Ord Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Jim Warner will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
Mr. Volf was born April 28, 1929, in the Eureka Township of Valley County to Frank and Agnes (Bruha) Volf. He attended Eureka District 32 School.
He married
Maxine Swanek on Jan. 10, 1950, at Arcadia. The couple lived on Mr. Volf's family farmstead west of Ord, where they have lived and farmed their entire married
lives.
He enjoyed horses, cattle, old pickups and old tractors.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Allen of Comstock and Darwin of Burwell; six grandchildren; four sisters, Alice Hulinsky of Gering, Dorothy Setlik of Grand Island and Lillian Setlik and Lucille Vampola, both of Ord.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Emma Hulinsky and infant twins, a brother and a sister.
Mary Dahlkoetter
COLUMBUS -- Mary E. Dahlkoetter, 72, of Columbus, a Grand Island native, died Tuesday, May 2, 2000, at the Columbus Community Hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Bonaventure's Catholic Church in Columbus. The Rev. Tom Weisbecker will officiate. Burial will be in All Saints cemetery at Columbus.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. vigil, Thursday at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus. Visitation will continue from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Center for Survivors, St. Bonaventure's Elementary School or the donor's choice.
Mrs. Dahlkoetter was born on Dec. 19, 1927, at Grand Island to Dr. J.C. and Ruth (Sherbahn) Devine. She graduated from Norfolk High School and from Wayne State College with a degree in teaching.
She married
Don Dahlkoetter on Aug. 13, 1956, in South Dakota. She taught elementary school in North Platte and Schuyler.
She enjoyed riding horses, watercolor painting and photography and was an avid reader.
She was a member of St. Bonaventure's Catholic Church, where she had taught CCD. She was also an active member of Platte Valley Humane Society and supporter of the Center for Survivors.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Joe Dahlkoetter of Grand Island and Mike Strong of Kansas City, Mo.; a grandson; and a brother, Dr. Frank Devine of Hastings.
Inis Schrader
YORK -- Inis I. Schrader, 81, of York died Wednesday, May 3, 2000, in York.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in York. Burial will be in Arborville cemetery near Polk.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Metz Mortuary of York is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Schrader was born on Jan. 7, 1919, at Bradshaw to Arthur and Stella (Rhodes) Gray.
She married
Maynard Schrader on Oct. 21, 1942, in York.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in York, Does and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Greg of York; three daughters, Linda (Mrs. George) Knisley of Goehner, Kim (Mrs. Mark) Eberspacher of Lincoln and Nancy (Mrs. Doug) Geis of Henderson; and five grandsons.
She was preceded in death by one son, Frankie; and four brothers.
Deborah Douthit
FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- Deborah Chase Douthit, 48, of Fort Collins, Colo., formerly of Grand Island, died Wednesday, May 3, 2000, at Fort Collins following a bout with cancer.
Services will be in Grand Island and are pending with the All Faith Funeral Home.
Leonard Keep
WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Leonard B. Keep, 80, of Wichita Falls, Texas, formerly of Cotesfield, died Sunday, April 30, 2000, in Wichita Falls.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Hampton Vaughan Crestview. The Rev. Bob Brown will officiate with Elks rest rites conducted by Elks Lodge 1105. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park with full military honors.
Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
Mr. Keep was born on March 27, 1920, in Cotesfield to Charles B. and Bertha A. (Tatlow) Keep.
He married
Eileen Rose Schmidt on July 7, 1943, in Papillion. He had lived in Wichita Falls since 1949.
Mr. Keep was in the U.S. Air force for 22 years. He served during World War II and the Korean War and retired as a senior master sergeant.
He worked for Curtis Wright Aircraft in Buffalo, N.Y., for three years and was the company's field representative in Abadan, Iran, for 15 months. After his retirement, he worked for Northrop Aircraft Maintenance for many years, as well as Servair and Individual Development Corp.
He was a life member of Elks Lodge 1105 and was elected Elk of the Quarter in 1971. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2147 and Faith Masonic Lodge 1158 A.F. and A.M.
His hobbies included barbecue grilling and gardening.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Leonard L. "Butch" of Wichita Falls; three grandchildren; three sisters, Lois Schnieder of Lincoln, Dorothy (Mrs. Harry) Hann of East Grand Forks, Minn., and Marie (Mrs. Don) Rasmussen of Hastings; and one brother, Allen C. of Scotia.
