Murial Hansen
STROMSBURG-- Murial J. Hansen, 73, of Stromsburg died Tuesday, May 15, 2001, at York General Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Palmer Funeral Home in Fullerton. The Rev. Leo Seiker will officiate. Burial will be in the Stromsburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Friday until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hansen was born on Feb. 19, 1928, in Harris, Mich., to George and Grace (Smith) Clash. She attended elementary school in Iron Mountain, Mich., and graduated from high school in Detroit. She then moved to Fremont.
She married
Elmer Phillippe in Fremont and resided in Fremont until 1966. She worked as a dental assistant in Fremont and was also employed at Western Electric in Millard.
She married
Carl Hansen on March 21, 1966, in Elko, Nev. The couple lived in Penrose, Colo., for more than 20 years before moving to Stromsburg.
She enjoyed sewing and camping.
Survivors include her husband Carl of Stromsburg; one son, Mike Phillippe of Stromsburg; one daughter, Kathie (Mrs. James) Gregor of Penrose, Colo.; five grandsons; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dale Clash of Detroit, Mich., and Douglas Clash of Kansas City, Mo.
She was preceded in death by on grandson, Jared Gregor; and one sister, Lurane Kerner.
Alleida Wirges
PETERSBURG -- Alleida Wirges, 72, of Petersburg died Wednesday, May 16, 2001, at her home.
Services are pending with Levander Funeral Home of Albion.
Laura Fritz
NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla.-- Laura E. Fritz, 73, of North Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Aberdeen, S.D., died Saturday, May 12, 2001, at her home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ in Aberdeen. The Rev. Guy Stone will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen.
Closed casket visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at Miller-Huebl Funeral Home of Aberdeen and again for one hour prior to the church service Friday.
Memorials are suggested to Hope Hospice of Fort Myers, S.D., or Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ in Aberdeen, S.D.
Mrs. Fritz was born on Sept. 30, 1927, in Fairfax, S.D., to Herman E. and Kathryn (Bollinger) Schoenrogge. She attended grade school at Fairfax, S.D., and graduated from Bonesteel High School. She then attended college at South Dakota State University in Brookings where she received her pharmacy and honorary doctor's degrees.
She married
Earl R. Fritz on July 30, 1950, in Fairfax. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Brookings, S.D., until 1955, at which time they moved to Watertown, S.D. They lived there until 1965 and moved to Aberdeen, where she was employed as a call relief worker at St. Luke's Pharmacy, White Drug Pharmacy, Bethesda Nursing Home, Medical Care Pharmacy, Osco Drug Pharmacy, Gibson Pharmacy and Plaza Pharmacy.
In 1970, the couple moved to Grand Island where they lived until 1974, at which time they moved to Liberal, Kan. In 1982, they returned to Aberdeen and continued to live there until she retired in 1986, and moved to Fort Myers, Fla. She continued to make that area her home until the time of her death.
She served for 37 years on Mayo Clinic research and also volunteered for Jerry Lewis telethons. She worked for many non-profit fund drives and was the chairman of several in Watertown. She also did relief work in hospitals, drug stores, crippled children's hospitals and many retail professional pharmacies in Eastern South Dakota.
She was a member of the Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ. She was also a 50-year member of local, state of South Dakota and National Pharmacy Associations. She served as Honorary SDPA President in 1983.
Survivors include her husband, Earl of North Fort Myers; one son, James E. Fritz of Barre, Vt.; one daughter, Peggy (Hal) Treeby of Hecla, S.D.; one brother, Robert Schoenrogge of Sioux Falls, S.D.; one sister, Ruth Frey of Rochester, Minn.; and five grandchildren.
Larry Stover
RIVERTON, Wyo.-- Larry J. Stover, 59, of Riverton, Wyo., formerly of Ravenna, died Thursday, May 10, 2001, at Riverton Memorial Hospital.
Services will be at later date in his hometown of Ravenna.
Mr. Stover was cremated. There will be no visitation.
Memorials are suggested to any hospice or the donor's choice.
Mr. Stover was born on Dec. 14, 1942, in Ravenna to Keith and Lucille (Jennings) Stover. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Robert Moritz. He attended country school District 65 and then Ravenna High School until he joined the Navy.
He had many jobs throughout the years, including brakeman, police officer, fireman, heavy-equipment operator and oil field hand.
Survivors include one son, Wade Stover of Elm Creek; one stepson, Marty Stover of Tekamah; one stepdaughter, Gail Kramer of Sutherland; one sister, Dianna (Mrs. Jerry) Dethlefs of Rockville; one brother, Jim Moritz of Alliance; and six grandchildren.
Evelyn Clark
Evelyn D. Clark, 87, of Grand Island, formerly of Doniphan, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Doniphan. The Rev. Jeff Hale will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar View cemetery in Doniphan.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the educational programs at Stuhr Museum or the United Methodist Church in Doniphan.
Mrs. Clark was born on May 29, 1913, in Overton to Carl and Maude (Marshall) Isaacson. She grew up and was educated in Oshkosh.
She married
G. Herman Clark on Aug. 11, 1934, at Sidney. In 1945, they moved to the Ogallala area, where they had an independent Meadow Gold Dairy distributorship for 18 years. They retired in 1978 and moved to Doniphan. Mr. Clark died in 1985, and Mrs. Clark continued to live in Doniphan until 1987, when she moved to Riverside Lodge.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Doniphan, Eastern Star Acacia Chapter 39, Shrine Auxiliary, Daughters of the Nile and Ogallala Chapter 142 of the Order of the Eastern Star, of which she was past matron.
Survivors include one son, Dale of Grand Island; two grandchildren; and one sister, Phyllis Rhiley of Ogallala.
Ruth Marie Delarm
Ruth Marie Delarm, 94, of Grand Island died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Martin Schmidt will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at All Faiths Funeral Home and one hour before service time Saturday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the church.
Mrs. Delarm was born on June 25, 1906, at Wolbach to Francis and Emma (Hemming) Cutler. She was raised and educated in Wolbach, where she graduated from high school. After attending Kearney State College, she taught school in Greeley County.
She married
Emmett Delarm on Dec. 12, 1930. They lived in Scotia, Missouri and California. They moved back to Nebraska in 1948 and farmed near Murphy. They retired from farming and moved to Grand Island in 1974. Mr. Delarm died on Aug. 7, 1976.
Mrs. Delarm was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was recently inducted as a member of the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War. She was the only known living daughter of a Civil War veteran in Nebraska and one of only 20 in the United States. In October 2000, she was honored for that distinction at the Grand Island Veterans Home.
Survivors include two sons, Harvey of Phillips and Charles of Lake George, Colo.; one daughter, Lois Stone of Taylor; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son and three sisters.
