Rena Giddings
BROKEN BOW -- Rena L. Giddings, 77, of Broken Bow died Saturday, June 10, 2000, in Broken Bow.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow. The Rev. Cliff Reynolds will officiate. Burial will be at Lee Park Cemetery. Govier Brothers Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the chapel.
Memorials are suggested to the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include a son, Leroy Giddings of Broken Bow; three daughters, Roma Porter of Broken Bow, Della Giddings of Broken Bow and Darla Drake of Ainsworth; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ellen Bjorklund of Cedar Falls, Iowa and Daisy Lindstrom of Rush City, Minn.
Wilma Kenney
KEARNEY -- Wilma R. Kenney, 92, of Kearney died Monday, June 5, 2000, at the Mt. Carmel Home where she had been living for the past three years.
Survivors include three daughters, Beverly Shada and Kay Moss, both of Kearney, and Jackie Shada of Grand Island; 10 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
William Marsh III
OMAHA -- William "Bill" H. Marsh III, 79, of Omaha, formerly of Grand Island and Doniphan, died Friday, June 9, 2000, at the V.A. Medical Center in Omaha.
Services will be scheduled at a later date. Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Dolores Kinney
Dolores R. Kinney, 68, of Grand Island died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999, at St. Francis Memorial Health Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Rev. Tom Ryan will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m., Thursday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mrs. Kinney was born on Sept. 7, 1931, at Grand Island to Edward and Kathleen (Whyte) Koehler. She grew up and was educated in Grand Island, graduating from St. Mary's High School.
She married
Donald Kinney. They lived in Grand Island, where she was a homemaker and also helped her husband in Kinney's Construction Co.
She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Kinney-Baxter of Jay, Fla.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Edward Koehler of Milton, Fla., and Patrick Koehler of Baldwin Park, Calif.; and four sisters, Charlene Sheifield of Pomona, Calif., Myrtle Smith of Baldwin Park, Calif., Kathleen Koehler of Grand Island and Ellen Krone of Ontario, Calif.
She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Joseph Kinney; and three brothers.
Iva Tesmer
Iva V. Tesmer, 81, of Grand Island died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home. The Rev. George Wheat will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Mrs. Tesmer was born on Dec. 24, 1918, at Grand Island to Walter and Ella (McIntosh) Youngs. She grew up in Grand Island and attended Grand Island public schools.
She married
Anton "Tony" Tesmer on May 29, 1948, at Grand Island. The couple lived in Grand Island, where she worked for Fairmont Creamery and Model Laundry. She later stayed at home to care for her family.
She was a member of the Methodist faith.
She enjoyed playing bingo and gardening.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Joyce (Mrs. Steve) Johnson of Grand Island; and a son, Larry Tesmer of Grand Island.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, LeRoy, Andrew and Howard Youngs; and two sisters, Myrtle Cochran and Edna Still.
Wilma Coomer
PALMER -- Wilma M. Coomer, 86, of Palmer died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999, at the Howard Community Hospital in St. Paul.
Palmer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
John Dvoracek
FARWELL -- John Dvoracek, 86, of Farwell died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, at the Valley County Nursing Home in Ord.
Services are pending with Peters Funeral Home in St. Paul.
Theodore Ehlers Jr.
BURWELL -- Theodore Ehlers Jr., 86, of Burwell died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999, at the Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Burwell with the Rev. Jane Ellefson officiating. Burial will be in Cottonwood cemetery at Burwell.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Eberle-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell.
Memorials are suggested to the health center or the Burwell Ambulance Supply Fund.
Mr. Ehlers was born on Dec. 4, 1913, in Merrick County to Theodore Sr. and Lena (Beberniss) Ehlers. He attended school at Chapman. He and his family moved to Loup County in 1928.
He married
Edith L. Shelton on Dec. 16, 1933, at Taylor. They lived in the Valley View area of Loup County until 1948. They moved to Garfield County and lived on two ranches owned by Thelma and Rulan Leach. They moved north of Burwell in 1959 and lived there until they sold their land in 1989 and retired to Burwell. Mr. Ehlers also worked for the sale barn for 40 years.
Mr. Ehlers enjoyed animals and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Patsy (Mrs. Harry) Gaukel of Burwell; two grandsons; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Adele (Mrs. Carl) Rogers of Burwell.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Theodore Ehlers; two sisters, Etteline Schroeder and Irene Schroeder; a half brother, Henry Ehlers; and two half sisters, Ella Soeth and Amelia Libner.
Edward C. Faust
PETERSBURG -- Edward C. Faust, 76, of Petersburg, died Sunday at the Faith Regional Health Center in Norfolk.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Catholic Church in Petersburg with the Rev. Jeff Zyla officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion and will continue at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church with a 7:30 p.m. wake service. Visitation also will be from 8:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
