Pat Sullivan
CHEYENNE, Wyo. -- Pat Sullivan, 77, of Cheyenne, Wyo., formerly of Doniphan, died Tuesday, March 6, 2001, at the United Medical Center-West.
Services were March 9 at St. Mary's Cathedral. Monsignor Gerald Sullivan officiated. Military honors were provided by the American Legion Honor Guard.
Memorials are suggested to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter.
Mr. Sullivan was born Aug. 24, 1923, in Hastings. He graduated from Doniphan High School in 1941.
He married
Claire E. Martin on April 12, 1947, at Cheyenne.
He was an original member of the Cheyenne Quarterback Club and the Cheyenne Municipal Trap Club. He was president of the Cheyenne Trap Club for 12 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and a member of the Knights of Columbus (third and fourth degree) and past grand knight of Council 801. He belonged to the Cheyenne Kiwanis Club, Cowboy Joe Club, the American Legion and the Elks. He was a longtime dancer on the Dazee Bristol float in the Cheyenne Frontier Days parades.
He served in the Korean War with the 13th Air Force. Prior to owning several businesses, he was affiliated with Equitable Life Insurance.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Michael Sullivan, and a daughter, Sally (Mrs. Mike) Simpson, both of Cheyenne; two grandchildren; and two brothers, Roger Sullivan of Doniphan and Richard Sullivan of East Lansing, Mich.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John Sullivan.
Joseph Brannen
GREELEY -- Joseph L. Brannen, 88, of Greeley died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, at the Greeley Care Home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Greeley Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Gerald Carlson will officiate. Burial will be at Greeley Sacred Heart Cemetery. T.J. Finn and Sons Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, with a rosary at 7 p.m. at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Mr. Brannen was born Aug. 21, 1911, at Brayton to George and Mary Ann (Doyle) Brannen. He grew up in the Greeley area and graduated from O'Connor High School.
He served in the U.S. Army, and then moved back to Greeley. He worked in the meat department of Doyle's Grocery Store, at Smith's Hardware Store and at Jack and Jill. He also was a custodian for Greeley Sacred Heart School and owned a pool hall.
Mr. Brannen lived at Greeley Care Home for the past four years.
He was a member of Greeley Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.
He enjoyed reading and fishing.
Survivors include two brothers, Clair E. of David City and Robert T. of Yuba City, Calif.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Raymond and Edward and one sister, Mary Francis Gilbert.
Bernice Hellwege
Bernice L. Hellwege, 75, of St. Paul died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000 at Heritage Living Center.
Committal services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran cemetery in Worms.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Christ Lutheran Church in St. Paul. The Rev. Robert Paulsen will officiate. Jacobsen Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.
There will be no visitation. Mrs. Hellwege was cremated.
Mrs. Hellwege's family will receive friends Monday from 5-8 p.m. at the Christ Lutheran Church.
Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Hospice Program or the Christ Lutheran Church Annex Fund.
Betsy Oline
AXTELL -- Betsy A. Oline, 70, of Axtell died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, at the Bethany Home in Minden.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Bethany Lutheran Church south of Axtell. The Rev. David Evenson will officiate. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Hampton cemetery in Hampton.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Freeland-Layton Funeral Home in Axtell.
Memorials are suggested to hospice, Bethany Lutheran Church or the Bethany Home.
Mrs. Oline was born June 13, 1929, at Brentwood, Texas to John and Lota (Sears) McCollum. She graduated from Brentwood High School in 1946.
She married
Mervin Wilshisen on Sept. 9, 1949. The couple lived in Hastings for 33 years, where Mrs. Oline worked as a secretary for J.M. McDonald for 14 years. Mr. Wilshisen died in 1983.
Mrs. Oline married
Herbert Oline on May 30, 1985, and they lived in Axtell.
She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband, Herbert of Axtell; one daughter, Debra (Mrs. Randy) Wissing of Grand Island; three stepdaughters, Ardyce (Mrs. Gary) Shaffer of Henrietta, N.Y., Nancy (Mrs. Kenneth) Anderson of Republican City and Margie (Mrs. Dudley) Nelson of Axtell; three grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
Ruth Trimble
DONIPHAN -- Ruth H. Trimble, 97, of Doniphan died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at Wood River Good Samaritan Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bethesda United Methodist Church in Haltwood, Pa. The Rev. Mills will officiate. Burial will be at Bethesda United Methodist cemetery in Haltwood, Pa.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Mrs. Trimble was born Jan. 11, 1903, at Lancaster, Pa. to Joseph and Mary (Douts) Cramer.
She married
W. Lester Trimble, who died in September of 1982. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's Association.
She was an avid quilter.
Survivors include one daughter, Faye (Mrs. Eugene) Droff of Doniphan; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Richard C., three brothers and one sister.
Starlyn Beistline
STROMSBURG -- Starlyn K. Beistline, 59, of Stromsburg died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001, at the Midwest Covenant Home in Stromsburg.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Midwest Covenant Home Chapel. The Rev. Duane Tweeten will officiate. Burial will be in the Stromsburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Palmer Funeral Home in Stromsburg.
Mrs. Beistline was born on Sept. 29, 1941, in Stromsburg to Floyd William and Fern Evelyn (Johnson) Lindquist. She attended the Stromsburg public schools, graduating in 1959. She then went to beauty school in Grand Island.
She married
Billy Mac Beistline on Nov. 22, 1964, in York. They lived in numerous places, including York; Lincoln, where she received her Realtor's license; and Sparks, Nev., where they lived for several years.
She moved to the Midwest Covenant Home on Jan. 25, 1993.
Mrs. Beistline was active in the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Survivors include her husband, of York; two sons, Brian and Cobin, both of York; one brother, Steve Lindquist of Stromsburg; and one sister, Rhonda (Mrs. Ken) Hallquist of Lincoln.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Meegan.
