Robert Rockford
Robert M. Rockford, 64, of Grand Island died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at Mercy Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Kleine Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. George Wheat will officiate. Burial will be in Parkview cemetery in Hastings.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mr. Rockford was born Oct. 26, 1936, to William and Liona (Gilman) Rockford at Stuart. After his education, he entered the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean conflict. After his discharge, he lived in the Central Nebraska area where he worked in lumber yards.
He married
Jewlie Evans. Mrs. Rockford died in 1963.
He married
LaDene Holtz and they made their home in Alda. He worked for Johnson Cashway Lumber Co., until he began working as an orderly at the V.A. Medical Center.
He was a member of the Lutheran faith and the D.A.V. and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed playing pitch.
Survivors include one son, Peter Rockford of Washington; one daughter, Jewlie Rockford of Washington; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five brothers, Dale of Texas, Warren of California, Merwyn of Nevada, Jim of Arizona, and Chet, who was instrumental in his brother's care, of Grand Island; and three sisters, Elsie Walton of O'Neill, Marge (Mrs. Edward) Gamel of California, and Alice "Sue" (Mrs. Chuck) Maly of Norfolk.

Gabriel Sanchez
Gabriel Moises Sanchez, 7 months, of Grand Island died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the All Faiths Funeral Home. Ministro Ordenado Virgil Villedas will officiate. Burial will be at the Grand Island Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
Gabriel was born June 7, 2000, at Grand Island, the son of Carrie Sanchez and Rosalio Vargas.
In addition to his parents, survivors include a brother, Nathaniel Vargas at home; and grandparents, Irma and Ventura Sanchez of Grand Island and Rosa and Rosalio Vargas of Grand Island.
Vera Monson
AURORA -- Vera Magdalene Monson, 83, of Hamilton Manor in Aurora, formerly of Grand Island, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at Memorial Hospital in Aurora.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Calvary Lutheran Church. The Rev. Dennis Reich will officiate. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Saronville Lutheran cemetery in Saronville.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kleine Funeral Home, with family receiving friends throughout the evening.
Memorials are suggested to Calvary Lutheran Church or the Grand Generation Center.
Mrs. Monson was born Oct. 12, 1918, at Sutton to John and Sophie (Trautman) Ulmer. She received her education at Fillmore County School District 31 in Sutton. She was confirmed in Immanuel Reformed Church of Sutton.
She married
Harold W. Monson Feb. 20, 1938, at Sutton. They lived in Saronville until moving to Lincoln in 1964. In 1966, they moved to Grand Island, where she worked for 17 years at the Nebraska Veteran's Home in dietary. She retired in 1983.
She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church. She enjoyed being a homemaker, playing piano, cooking, flowers, and gardening.
Mr. Monson died in 1997.
Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Charlotte Monson, who was her primary caregiver, of Grand Island; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Milton Ulmer of Hastings and Vance Ulmer of Aurora; and one sister, Irma Horst of Tacoma, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Mervyn; and three infant daughters.
Max Moore
KEARNEY -- Max T. Moore, 78, of Kearney died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. James Catholic Church in Kearney. The Revs. Charles Torpey and Tim Stoner will officiate. Burial will be in the Kearney Cemetery.
Christian wake services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Horner-Lieske-Horner Mortuary, following the wake service Thursday at the church and Friday morning until service time at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the church or the Good Samaritan Hospital home health care program.
Mr. Moore was born on Nov. 6, 1922, at Ragan to Mark D. and Minnie (Sohr) Moore. He graduated from Kearney High School in 1940 and then entered the military.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in World War II and the Korean conflict. After his discharge, Mr. Moore attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney and Southern Methodist University and graduated from Letourneau College in Longview, Texas, with degrees in electrical engineering and industrial engineering.
He married
Ruth Stoesser in 1946. They lived in Kearney, where he owned the Industrial Electric Service until he retired and sold the business in 1989. Mrs. Moore died in 1960.
Mr. Moore married
Margaret C. Colfer on Sept. 1, 1962, in Kearney.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; three daughters, Kristin (Mrs. Douglas) Marlatt of Cottage Grove, Minn., Pam (Mrs. Douglas) Field of Minneapolis and Mary (Mrs. James) Yount of Grand Island; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, John Moore of Sabetha, Kan.; and one sister, Mary Ellen Jensen of Medicine Bow, Wyo.
Anthony Rogers Radziewicz
OMAHA -- Anthony B. Rogers Radziewicz, 82, of Omaha died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at the Mercy Care Center in Omaha.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Farwell. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church, with a 7 p.m. vigil service.
Peters Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.
'Copey' Cohagan
SPRING, TEXAS -- Francis L. "Copey" Cohagan, 74, of Spring, Texas, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at Houston Northwest Medical Center.
Memorial services are pending with Solt Funeral Home.
Mr. Cohagan was born Jan. 15, 1927, to Paul and Daisy (Ryan) Cohagan in Central City. He grew up in Central City and graduated from Central City High School.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1947.
He married
Dixie L. Willeford on March 16, 1949, at the Warren Methodist Church in Lancaster County.
He graduated from Iowa State University in 1951. For 32 years, he was a civil engineer and manager for Eastern Transmission Corp. and retired as senior vice president of operations in 1985.
He was a long time member of Spring Woods United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Spring, Texas; one daughter, Cathy (Mrs. James) Maxwell of Oklahoma City, Okla.; twin sons, Rich of Midland, Texas and Randy of Sugarland, Texas; seven grandchildren; and two brothers, DeVon of Casper, Wyo. and Edwin of Gothenburg.

Eola Harris
TOPEKA, Kan. -- Eola F. Scroggin Harris, 70, of Topeka, Kan., died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at a Topeka hospital of natural causes.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka. Burial will be in the Topeka Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Harris was born Oct. 14, 1930, in Grand Island to Clyde and Faith (Carter) Kindig. She was attended and graduated from the Grand Island schools.
She married
Victor Scroggin April 15, 1951. He died on Jan. 29, 1989.
She married
Willard Harris. She worked at Skaggs Drug Store, which later became Osco Drug Store. Mr. Harris also preceded her in death.
She had lived in Topeka since 1958.
Survivors include two daughters, Paula Scroggin and Sally Castor, both of Topeka; two sons, Michael and Patrick, also of Topeka; two brothers, Donald Kindig of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Gerald Kindig of Grand Island; one sister, Ida Jean Rowe of Rogers, Ark.; 19 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both of her husbands; one daughter, Lynette Noland; and one grandson.
