Devin Hatcher
ORD -- Devin A. Hatcher, 16, of Ord, formerly of Grand Island, died Monday, Aug. 30, 1999, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home in Grand Island. The Rev. James Splane will officiate.
Visitation will be prior to service time Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the family or the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Devin was born on Dec. 24, 1982, in Grand Island to Harold Hatcher and Connie Stenka. He grew up and was educated in Grand Island. He had recently moved to the Ord area.
He was attending Heartland Assembly of God Church in Ord. He had attended Third City Christian Church in Grand Island. He loved sports.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Harold and Karen Hatcher of Grand Island; his mother, Connie Finley of Grand Island; two brothers, Raymond and Robert Hatcher, both of Grand Island; one sister, Dawna Hatcher of Grand Island; grandparents, Donna Thompson of Grand Island, Raymond Woods of Bellflower, Calif., and Francis and Sandra Stenka of Henry; and great-grandparents, Alice Thompson, Otis and Dorothy Davis and Leonard Sr. and Catherine McCarty, all of Grand Island.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Larry Thompson and Patricia Woods.
Gerald Beckstrom
HORNICK, Iowa -- Gerald Beckstrom, 77, of Hornick, Iowa, formerly of Central Nebraska, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999, at the Sioux City, Iowa, Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Woods Funeral Home in Sloan, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Joan; one daughter, Marilyn of Iowa; two sons, Ronald and Donald, both of Iowa; several grandchildren; and four brothers, Irvin of Stromsburg, Marland of Clarks, Marvin of Springfield and Eldon of Grand Island.
Kenneth Patterson
RAPID CITY, S.D. -- Kenneth Patterson, 58, of Rapid City, S.D., died Sunday, Aug. 29, 1999, in Rapid City.
Services will be on Friday in Empire, Colo.
Survivors include his wife, Yukio; one son, Tokeshi; two daughters, Yuki and Hirusi; and one brother, Oliver Brunsuig.
Arlo Hayes
Arlo Erdmann Hayes, 89, formerly of Marquette, died Saturday, June 23, 2001, at the Veterans Medical Center in Grand Island.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Richland cemetery near Marquette. The Rev. Rich Savage will officiate.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Higby Mortuary in Aurora.
Mr. Hayes was born July 26, 1911, in Aurora to John Irvin and Clara Emma (Mideke) Hayes. He grew up in Marquette, where he attended school through the eighth grade. He served in the Army during World War II.
He married
Agnes L. Barger on Jan. 21, 1947, in Belleville, Kan. They farmed in the Marquette area. In 1966, he went to work for National By-Products in Grand Island. In 1977, he went to work for the Marquette Co-op until 1993.
The couple lived in Marquette until January 1999, when they moved to Grand Island.
He was a member of the VF., the Lions Club and the Richland cemetery board.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Helen and Ron Foulk of Central City, Clara Hardy of Aurora and Shirley and Greg Stevenson of Grand Island; one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Diane Hayes of Hastings; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, R. Kent Hayes of California and Arthur E. Hayes of Greensboro, N.C.
Dorothea Dissmeyer
AURORA -- Dorothea Dissmeyer, 89, formerly of Hampton, died Saturday, June 23, 2001, at Memorial Hospital in Aurora.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church near Hampton. The Rev. Kurt Letcher will officiate. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Higby Mortuary in Aurora.
Mrs. Dissmeyer was born March 8, 1912, on a farm near Hampton to Louis O. and Sophie (Senff) Kohtz. She was baptized on April 6, 1912, and confirmed on March 24, 1925, at Zion Lutheran Church near Hampton. She grew up on the farm on which she was born.
She married
Albert Dissmeyer Feb. 16, 1936, at Zion Lutheran Church near Hampton. They lived in Phoenix a year, where he worked for the government, and spent a year in Toole, Utah, before returning to Hampton to live on the farm.
They farmed northeast of Hampton for 59 years then moved to Aurora.
Mr. Dissmeyer died on October 25, 2000.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church near Hampton. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, making various crafts, and loved to play cards.
Survivors include two daughters and two sons-in-law, Gladys and Jim Huebner of Forsyth, Mo., and Gloria and LaVerne Bamesberger of Marquette; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers.
Kathryn Johnson
BURWELL -- Kathryn F. Johnson, 85, of Burwell died Sunday, June 24, 2001, at the Valley County Nursing Home in Ord.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First Congregational Church of Christ in Burwell. The Rev. Jane Ellefson will officiate. Burial will be in Cottonwood cemetery in Burwell.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell.
Memorials are suggested to the Burwell Ambulance supply fund or the church.
Frances McMillan
BROKEN BOW -- Frances McMillan, 99, of Milburn died Saturday, June 23, 2001, at the Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Broken Bow.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow. The Rev. Tim Pearson will officiate. Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Custer County Hospice or the United Church of Christ at Brewster.
Billy Richardson
BURWELL -- Billy B. Richardson, 85, of Burwell died Sunday, June 24, 2001, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Lincoln.
He was cremated. A memorial graveside service will be set later at the Cottonwood cemetery in Burwell.
Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell is in charge of arrangements.

Virginia Patterson
JEROME, Idaho -- Virginia A. Patterson, 79, of Jerome, Idaho, died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, at Twin Falls Clinic and Hospital in Twin Falls.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Jerome cemetery with the Rev. Quinton Kimbrow officiating.
Visitation was from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Hove Robertson Funeral Chapel in Jerome, Idaho.
Mrs. Patterson was born Feb. 4, 1922, in Omaha. She lived in Omaha until age 10, when she moved to Ansley and lived with her grandparents. She attended school in Ansley, graduating in 1940.
She married
Don Patterson on Nov. 29, 1941. The couple moved to California and lived there for two years. She moved back to Ansley when her husband was drafted into the service.
After the war, they moved to Jerome, Idaho, where they farmed until 1967. In March 1967, they moved to Weiser, Idaho, where they were employed at the Western Auto store for their brother-in-law. In 1976, they retired and moved back to Jerome, Idaho, where she has resided since.
Survivors include her husband; one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Tracie of Weiser, Idaho; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Mike Patterson; and one grandson.
