Lyle Inness
BURWELL -- Lyle I. Inness, 79, of Burwell died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at the Valley County Hospital in Ord.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Burwell. The Rev. Don Studley will officiate. Burial will be in Cottonwood cemetery in Burwell.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell.
Memorials are suggested to the Burwell Ambulance Supply Fund.
Mrs. Inness was born Nov. 5, 1921, at Valley County to Charles and Blanche (Botts) Inness. He graduated from Ord High School. He served in World War II in the 96th Infantry Division.
He married
Lily C. Christoffersen on Nov. 30, 1946, at Bartlett after returning from the war. They ranched for 36 years south of Burwell before moving to Burwell in 1986. He worked for several years at Fort Hartsuff in the stable and enjoyed visiting with people as they came through. He wife died on Sept. 10, 1993.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Donna Inness of Chapman, Dwain and Dee Inness of Kearney and Gary Inness of Grand Island; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Bernard and Lou Inness of Gering; and a sister, Viola Auer of Thermopolis, Wyo.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a sister and a brother.
Robert Perrin
SARGENT -- Robert H. Perrin, 83, of Sargent died Monday, July 30, 2001, at his home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church in Sargent. The Rev. David Hansen will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Rhoad Funeral Home in Sargent.
Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
Mr. Perrin was born Aug. 19, 1917, in Sargent to Harold and Allona (Wood) Perrin.
He grew up and attended school in Sargent, where he graduated in 1935.
He worked for the J.C. Penney Co. and later worked in Spokane, Wa., in 1936. He returned to Sargent in 1940. In 1941, he took an assistant manager job for J.C. Penney in Sibley, Iowa.
On May 25, 1941, he married
Roselean Wells at her home in the Walworth community west of Sargent.
He later worked for Brodkey's Jewelry Co. in Omaha and later moved back to the Walworth community, where the couple farmed.
He served on the Oxford district school board, the Lilian Precinct Board, the Sargent Volunteer Fire Department and several agricultural committees in Custer County.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sargent and the Broken Bow Elks Lodge.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Ronald Robert of Resburg, Idaho; one daughter and son-in-law, Rita Rose and Macon Fox of Kurtland, Wa.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; one sister, Nadine Amos of Sunlake, Ariz.; and sister and brother-in-law, Constance and Jack Williar of Salisbury, Md.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Lysinger.
'Rasty' Spanel
BROKEN BOW -- Rudolph "Rasty" Spanel, 98, of Broken Bow, died Wednesday, August 1, 2001, at his home in Broken Bow.
Services are pending with Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow.
Frances Trotter
BROKEN BOW -- Frances A. Trotter, 91, of Broken Bow died Monday, July 30, 2001.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow. The Rev. Steve Hicks will officiate. Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery.
Visitation was Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to a fund for park benches for the community playgrounds.
Mrs. Trotter was born on June 28, 1910, in a dugout in Dewey County, Okla., to Lou D. and Effie J. (Kirkman) Beverly.
She married
H.J. "Bud" Trotter in April 1928 at Twin Falls, Idaho. They returned to Nebraska and farmed together in Custer County for more than 69 years.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly J. and Ray Petersen of Kearney, Bonnie J. and Bob Sceger of Johnson Lake and Donna "Doll" and Harry Winbolt of Broken Bow; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Virginia "Sis" Trotter of Arcadia and Frank and Dixie Trotter of Council Bluffs; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a brother, Elmer Beverly of California.
She was preceded in death by her husband in January 1998; a sister, Julia; and two brothers, Ark and James.
Orval Beman
NORTH PLATTE -- Orval C. Beman, 85, of North Platte, formerly of the Grand Island area, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001, at North Platte.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at West End Chapel in North Platte. Burial will be at Fort McPherson Military cemetery at Maxwell.
Adams and Swanson Funeral Home in North Platte is in charge of arrangements.
Rozella Salvador
Rozella Salvador, 74, of Grand Island died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at Lakeview Nursing Center.
Services are pending with Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.
Norman Skeen
66, Farmer
Norman Skeen, 66, of Grand Island, formerly of Wood River, died Sunday, July 1, 2001, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Lincoln.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4 at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Grand Island.
There will be private burial for the family.
There will be no visitation.

Effie Nelson
WOLBACH -- Effie L. Nelson, 95, of Wolbach died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at the Greeley Care Home in Greeley.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Wolbach. The Rev. Ken West will officiate. Burial will be in the Hillside cemetery in Wolbach.
There will be no visitation.
Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Nelson was born on Nov. 11, 1905, to Ernest and Effie (Merchant) Thayer on the family farm in Greeley County. She attended the rural Logan School north of Wolbach and Wolbach High School.
She married
Andy C. Nelson on Oct. 24, 1926, in Wolbach. They lived in Wolbach. She operated a cream and produce station in Wolbach, and her husband operated a trucking line during the 1930s and 1940s. The couple also operated the Tri-County Telephone Co. from the mid-1940s to the mid-1960s. The couple continued to live in Wolbach after their retirement. She moved to the Greeley Care Home on Sept. 24, 1997. He husband died on Dec. 31, 1998.
She was a member of the Methodist faith. She enjoyed growing flowers and fishing with her husband.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, LaVonne and Dan Dilla of Lincoln; a grandchild; and two sisters-in-law, Emma Thayer of St. Paul and Lillian Nelson of North Platte.
She was preceded in death by her husband; four brothers, Clarence, Ernest, Percy and Bert; an infant brother; and a sister, Vina Kraft.
