Velma Ostrander

FULLERTON -- Velma P. Ostrander, 89, of Fullerton died Sunday, July 29, 2001, at her home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Palmer Funeral Home in Fullerton. The Rev. Valjean Warman will officiate. Burial will be in the Belgrade Main cemetery in Belgrade.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ostrander was born Aug. 13, 1911, in the Timber Creek area near Belgrade to Ted and Pearl (Bigley) Foland. She grew up in Belgrade and graduated from Belgrade High School in 1930.
She married
Claire Ostrander on Dec. 9, 1931, in Fullerton. They farmed in the Belgrade area for 10 years and then moved to Oregon, Washington and Florida. They returned to Fullerton in 1978 and remained there until her death.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed going to church, knitting, crocheting and playing the organ.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Claire Ostrander Jr. of Houston; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; three brothers, Jack Foland of Kansas City, Kan., Gene Foland of Fullerton and Russell Foland of Belgrade; and three sisters, Inez Bourn, Lois Owens and June Underwood, all of Fullerton.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Rachel Ostrander, Ida Ostrander and Edna Bourn.
Barbara Pearce
BROKEN BOW -- Barbara A. Pearce, 43, of Broken Bow died Saturday, July 28, 2001, at her home in Broken Bow.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Berean Fundamental Church in Broken Bow. The Rev. Steve Hicks will officiate. Burial of cremains will be in the Litchfield Cemetery.
Govier Brothers Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mrs. Pearce was born Nov. 7, 1957, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Reuben and Anna (Skala) Yeager. She grew up in various communities, attending high school in Colby, Kan. She spent 23 years in Dalhart, Texas, where she worked as a waitress.
She was married
to Clifford Pearce on Sept. 3, 1993. They moved to Broken Bow four years ago.
She was a member of the Berean Fundamental Church. She enjoyed crafts, sewing and reading books.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, William Stafford of Wichita Falls, Texas, and David Stafford of Texas; two daughters, Christina Stafford and Sharon Stafford, both of Texas; two grandchildren; three sisters, Faith Yeager of Litchfield, Cathy Olson of Belle Fouche, S.D., and Pamela Schoenberger of Oakley, Kan.; her father; brother, Kenneth Yeager of Hutchinson, Kan.; and two stepsons, Jerry Pearce of White Deer, Texas, and Perry Pearce of Guymon, Okla.
She was preceded in death by her mother and a brother, John W. Yeager.
Robert H. Perrin
SARGENT -- Robert H. Perrin, 83, of Sargent died Monday, July 30, 2001, at his home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church in Sargent. The Rev. David Hansen will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Rhoad Funeral Home in Sargent.
Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
Frances Trotter
BROKEN BOW -- Frances A. Trotter, 91, of Broken Bow died Monday, July 30, 2001, in Broken Bow.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow with the Rev. Steve Hicks officiating. Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Govier Brothers Mortuary.
A memorial has been established for park benches for the community playgrounds.
Laverne Scott
TOMBALL, Texas -- Laverne M. Scott, 77, of Tomball, Texas, formerly of Grand Island, died Monday, July 30, 2001.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Salem Lutheran Church in Tomball. The Rev. Craig Whitson will officiate. Burial will follow at Klein Memorial Park.
Klein Funeral Homes and Memorial Parks in Tomball is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer Association, Greater Houston Chapter, in Houston, Texas.
Mrs. Scott moved to Tomball in 1996.
She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband, Frank A. Scott; three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Fayrene Scott, Timothy A. and Sarah Scott, and Kirby L. and Mary Scott; seven grandchildren; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia and Clarence Werner and Evelyn and Dwaine Lewis.
Dr. F. Hauser Winter
86, Retired Methodist Minister
DAVENPORT, Fla. -- Dr. F. Hauser Winter, 86, of Davenport, Fla., formerly of Lincoln, died Saturday, July 28, 2001, at Davenport.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Christ United Methodist Church in Lincoln. Bishop Rhymes H. Moncure and the Rev. Jay Vetter will officiate.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
Roper and Sons Mortuary of Lincoln is in charge of arrangements.

Dr. Winter was born Oct. 28, 1914, in Richmond, Mo., to William and Deborah (Hauser) Winter.
He received his bachelor of science degree in education and master of arts degree in church history from University of Missouri-Columbia; master of theology in 1944 and doctor of theology in 1945 at Iliff School of Theology; and doctor of divinity at Central Methodist College in Fayette, Mo.
He served churches in Louisiana; at Rock Port, Huffman Memorial (St. Joseph), Maryville and Broadway (Kansas City), all in Missouri; and Trinity United Methodist Church in Grand Island from 1976 to 1980.
He served on the Missouri Conference Board of Ministry for 11 years and was chairman for eight years. He served as president of the Council of Churches of St. Joseph, Mo. He was Iliff Alumnus of the Year in 1968.
He was a member of the board of trustees at St. Paul School of Theology in Kansas City for 11 years. He was a delegate to all general and jurisdictional conferences of the Nebraska United Methodist Church from 1960 to 1976.
He retired in 1980 and moved to Lincoln. He then served for 14 years as visitation pastor of Christ United Methodist Church. He also served on the Archives Commission of the Conference and on the board of trustees of Wesleyan Nebraska University.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Winter of Davenport; two sons and daughters-in-law, Cmdr. Erich H. and Alice Winter of Davenport and Guyler M. and Diane Winter of Glenrock, N.J.; five grandchildren; a brother, Dr. William Winter of Boulder, Colo.; and a sister, Lou West of Livingston, Texas.
'Gwen' Rose
86, Homemaker
HASTINGS -- Gwendolyn E. "Gwen" Rose, 86, of Hastings died Wednesday, June 27, 2001, at her home.
Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at First Congregational United Church of Christ with the Rev. Barry Rempp officiating. Private family burial will be at a later date.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Institute or First Congregational United Church of Christ.

Mrs. Rose was born April 5, 1915, in Beloit, Kan., to Allen and Ethel (Campbell) Evans. She graduated from Glen Elder High School in Glen Elder, Kan., in 1932.
She married
Forrest W. Rose in 1935. The couple moved to Hastings in 1957. She was a homemaker. Mr. Rose died in 1994.
She was a member of the First Congregational Untied Church of Christ, Lochland Country Club and the Elks.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne of Albuquerque, N.M., and Dennis of Hastings; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Aileen Evans of Denver.
Other than her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Jon and one brother, Edwin Evans.
