Terry Lemburg
Terry L. Lemburg, 52, of Grand Island died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home. The Rev. Onamae Waddel will officiate. Burial will be at a later date.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m., with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the medical center for liver research.
Mr. Lemburg was born on Feb. 20, 1948, at Ravenna to Virgil and Jean (Kasel) Lemburg. He grew up and was educated in Ravenna and Cheyenne, Wyo.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged from the service, he returned to Grand Island, where he worked at the Central Nebraska Regional Airport. He then worked for Watton Glass for several years before opening his own company, State Glass, in 1983.
He loved flying and riding his motorcycle. He was a member of Eagles Aerie 378 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, LaDonna Lemburg; a son, Josh Lemburg of Grand Island; two daughters, Kim Lemburg and Abby Lemburg, both of Grand Island; three stepsons, Dana Gruhn of Grand Island, Sean Gruhn of Omaha and Seth Gruhn of Whidbey Island, Wash.; a granddaughter; his father and stepmother, Virgil and Jeri Lemburg of Cheyenne, Wyo.; a sister, Christy of Cheyenne; a stepbrother, Johnny; and numerous stepsisters.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Humphreys.
Ada Atkinson
BARTLETT -- Ada Irene Atkinson, 85, of Bartlett died on Tuesday, July 4, 2000, at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Bartlett. Burial will be in the Bartlett Cemetery.
Mrs. Atkinson was cremated, so there will be no visitation.
Huffman's Brooks Chapel in Elgin is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Atkinson was born on Aug. 6, 1914, in Bartlett to Edwin H. and Bernice (Huff) Pletcher. Her family moved to a farm nine miles southwest of Bartlett in 1919. She attended rural schools, took normal training at Wheeler County High School and graduated in 1931. She attended Kearney State College and taught for five years in Wheeler County and for one year in Garfield County.
She went to Oregon in 1937, returned to Nebraska and went to Yakima, Wash., in 1938.
She married
Cecil Atkinson in Wickenburg, Ariz. The couple lived in Yakima, Wash., from 1941 to 1951 before returning to Bartlett in 1951. Mr. Atkinson died on Nov. 11, 1972.
Survivors include four daughters, Janice (Mrs. Howard) Houle, Sandi (Mrs. Mark) Tieri, Rita Jones and Cheryl (Mrs. Larry) Kremer; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Leatha Taylor of Bartlett; and two brothers, H.J. Pletcher of Yakima, Wash., and Gene Pletcher of Grand Island.
Other than her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Terry; and one grandson.
Honor Batson
BURWELL -- Honor E. Batson, 94, of Burwell, died Wednesday, July 5, 2000 at the Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell.
Services are pending with Eberle-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell.

Phyllis Beat
BURWELL -- Phyllis Sandra Beat, 74, of Burwell died Tuesday, July 4, 2000, at her home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Burwell. Burial will be in Cottonwood cemetery in Burwell. The Rev. Jane Ellefson will officiate.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Eberle-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell.
Memorials are suggested to the library, women's fellowship or the family.
Mrs. Beat was born on July 27, 1925, in Loup County to Albert and Nellie (Fuller) Stone. She attended school at Taylor from first through 12th grade, graduating in 1942. She taught one year in a rural school. She entered the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in 1944 and graduated in January 1947.
She married
William R. Beat on May 23, 1947, in St. Paul. She worked at the Burwell Hospital and then at Community Memorial Hospital when it opened in 1952. In 1956, she attended Cook College Graduate School of Medicine in Chicago to study anesthesia. She worked as a nurse anesthetist in Ord and Burwell for 26 years. She worked part time at the Burwell Nursing Home from 1986 to 1989. Mr. Beat died on March 6, 1991.
Mrs. Beat enjoyed gardening, reading and cooking. She was a member of the Calamus Lake Association and women's fellowship.
Survivors include a son, Bob Beat of Burwell; two daughters, Lorraine (Mrs. Gary) Feind of Kearney and Tabby (Mrs. Bob) Proffitt of Grand Island; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lois Appelt of Ainsworth and Louise Gilbertson of Salt Lake City.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Bette Billings
ST. EDWARD -- Bette M. Billings, 77, of St. Edward died Thursday, July 6, 2000, at Cloverlodge Care Center in St. Edward.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Palestine Baptist Church in rural St. Edward. The Rev. Carl Edwards will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Miller-Levander Funeral Home in St. Edward.

Harold Culp
OMAHA -- Harold Culp, 72, of Omaha died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at Omaha.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Omaha. A wake service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the John A. Gentleman Westside Chapel in Omaha. Burial will be in the Calvary cemetery in Omaha.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Pius X Scholarship Fund.

Mr. Culp was born Dec. 28, 1927, at Denton. He was a Korean War Veteran. He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn (Mrs. Loren) Matthews of Omaha and Donna of The Dalles, Ore.; two sons, Michael of Grand Island and Jerry of Omaha; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother; and two sisters.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Luella J.
'Jack' Harrahill
HEMINGFORD -- John R. "Jack" Harrahill, 63, of Hemingford died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at Hemingford.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Bridget Catholic Church in Hemingford. The Rev. Hugh Spanel will officiate. Burial with military rites will be in the Hemingford Cemetery.
A wake service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Bridget Church.
Memorials are suggested to the Hemingford Volunteer Firefighters Association or the donor's choice.

Mr. Harrahill was born Aug. 27, 1936, to John E. and Mary E. (Maloney) Harrahill at Greeley. He graduated from Greeley Sacred Heart School in 1954. He then taught school for one year in an area country school. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1958.
He married
Carmen Peters on Feb. 20, 1960, at Hay Springs. He farmed in Greeley and then purchased and operated their farm at St. Paul until moving to Hemingford in 1984. He continued working in agriculture and was working as the feed manager for Farmers Co-op Elevator at the time of his death.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Kerin (Mrs. Steve) Older of Quiedersbach, Germany and Sue (Mrs. John) Friedrichsen of Palmer; three sons, Dan of St. Paul, Richard of Port Orchard, Wash. and Dennis of Kearney; four sisters, Peggy (Mrs. Steve) Halpin of Grand Island, Mary Eileen (Mrs. Bill) Sowers of Los Alamos, Calif., Luetta (Mrs. Tom) O'Connell of Lincoln and Doris (Mrs. Don) Woener of Plano, Texas; two brothers, Patrick and Michael, both of Omaha; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
