'Copey' Cohagen
SPRING, Texas -- Francis L. "Copey" Cohagen, 74, of Spring, Texas, died on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at Houston Northwest Medical Center.
Memorial services are pending with Solt Funeral Home in Central City. A full obituary will appear later.
Speed Rathbun
DURANGO, Colo. -- Dr. Speed Roland Rathbun, 75, of Durango, Colo., died Dec. 26, 2000, at Four Corners Health Care Center.
Services are still pending and will be in March at Chadron.
Dr. Rathbun was born on June 29, 1925, in Chadron, where he attended Chadron Preparatory and Chadron State College. He then attended the University of Nebraska Medical School in Omaha.
Dr. Rathbun practiced medicine in Crawford, Chadron and Sidney from 1958 to 1966. He then became a specialist in physiatry (physical medicine/rehabilitation) at the University of Colorado Medical School in Denver. He worked for the Veterans Administration in Livermore and Hot Springs, Calif., Pueblo, Colo., and Grand Island. Dr. Rathbun was proud of achieving his medical doctorate and easing the suffering of others.
He retired from practicing medicine in the late 1980s.
Lawrence Anderson
Lawrence "Larry" J. Anderson, 84, of Grand Island died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, at the Lakeview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Grand Island.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Gollaher Chapel in the Trinity United Methodist Church. The Rev. Patrick Grindoll will officiate. Burial will be in the Westlawn Cemetery.
There will be no visitation. Mr. Anderson was cremated.
Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Everette Greenfield, Jr.
Everette Greenfield, Jr., 85, of Grand Island died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Omaha.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the First Church of the Nazarene. The Revs. Dominic Pecoraro and John Hayes will officiate. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Fort McPherson National cemetery in Maxwell.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the First Church of the Nazarene or Grace Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Grace; two sons, Roy Greenfield of Amherst and Orival Greenfield of Las Vegas; one daughter, Eunice Potter of Kearney; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, three sisters and three brothers.
Grace Glynn
PALMER -- Grace Glynn, 94, of Palmer died Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, at her home near Palmer.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the First Church of Christ in Palmer. The Rev. Jerry Quandt will officiate. Burial will be in the Rose Hill cemetery in Palmer.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Palmer Funeral Home.
Mrs. Glynn was born Nov. 23, 1906 at Palmer to William and Mary (Geherty) Weber. She attended District 41 School and then moved with her family to Idaho were she graduated from Boise High School. She returned with her family to Nebraska and attended Cotner College in Lincoln for two years. She taught school in Whitman for two years.
She married
Osvil Glynn on Aug. 23, 1930, in Palmer. They lived on a farm in Loup Valley for 63 years. Mr. Glynn died on Nov. 16, 1993. Mrs. Glynn remained on the farm until her death.
She was a member of the First Church of Christ.
She enjoyed being on her farm.
Survivors include three sons, Roy Glynn of Central City, Jim Glynn of Indianapolis and Joe Glynn of Southbury, Conn.; three daughters, Lila (Mrs. Cleon) Schwarz of Palmer, Lorene Glynn of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Karen (Mrs. Larry) Lunn of Indianapolis; one brother, Gerald Weber of Dickinson, N.D.; one sister, Dorothy (Mrs. Warren) Hockman of Oklahoma City; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Paul Glynn; two grandchildren; two brothers, Donald and Lynn Weber; and one sister, Elma Campbell.
Fritz Harrahill
GREELEY -- Fritz J. Harrahill, 88, of Greeley died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, at his home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Greeley Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Revs. Gerald Carlson and John Cook will officiate. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with a vigil and rosary at 7 p.m. at the church.
T.J. Finn and Sons Funeral Home in Greeley is in charge of arrangements.
'Pat' Pokorski
ASHTON -- Patrick "Pat" Pokorski, 58, of Ashton died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha.
Services are pending with Peters Funeral Home of Loup City.
Hilbert Swanson
ST. EDWARD - Hilbert Swanson, 93, of St. Edward, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, at his home in St. Edward.
Services are pending with Miller-Levander Funeral Home in St. Edward.
Ervin Blauhorn
CENTRAL CITY -- Ervin W. Blauhorn, 88, of Central City died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001, at his home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Archer Zion United Methodist Church near Archer. The Rev. Rich Savage will officiate. Burial will be in the Central City Cemetery.
Visitation was Friday at Wagner Funeral Home in Central City.
Memorials are suggested to the church and the American Cancer Society.
Mr. Blauhorn was born Aug. 11, 1913, to William C. and Anna M. (Otto) Blauhorn on a farm southeast of Palmer. He went to District 58 School through the eighth grade in Merrick County.
He was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church. He served in the Army from Dec. 1, 1941, to October 1945. He fought in the Battle of Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge.
He married
Bonnie M. Scharvin on June 22, 1947, at his parent's home near Archer in a double wedding ceremony with his sister Dorothy Blauhorn, and his wife's brother, Frank Scharvin. The couple lived and farmed near Archer. His wife died in 1997. He move from the farm to Central City in January 2001.
He served on several boards including District 43 School, Merrick County Weed District, Chapman and Archer Telephone Board and Merrick Foundation. He also served on several boards in the Zion United Methodist Church. He served as director of the Archer Co-op Bank. He was chairman of the building committee for the Archer Community Center.
He enjoyed the farm and watching crops grow, traveling, flowers and gardening, going for coffee, fishing and bird watching.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Orville and Barbara Blauhorn of Palmer; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Mildred Scarborough of Palmer, Dorothy Scharvin of Oxford, Edna and Thomas Shull of Central City and Ina J. and Charles Giles of Broken Bow; and a sister-in-law, Helen Blauhorn of Central City.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a brother, Elmer Blauhorn, two infant sisters and three brother-in-laws.
