Wilma and Willis Lemburg

CAIRO -- Wilma L. Lemburg, 73, of Cairo died on Dec. 14, 2001, and her husband, Willis A. Lemburg, 72, of Cairo died on Dec. 16, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services for the couple will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Christ Lutheran Church in Cairo. The Rev. Glen Keylon will officiate. Burial will be in Cameron cemetery with military honors by Fort Riley, Kan., for Mr. Lemburg. Mrs. Lemburg's services were changed due to her husband's death.
Visitation will be from noon until services Thursday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the church or the family's choice.

Mrs. Lemburg was born on Nov. 13, 1928, at Hazard to Henry and Minnie (Brewer) Smith. She grew up in the area and graduated from Hazard High School in 1949. She then attended medical school in Omaha.
Mr. Lemburg was born on Sept. 14, 1929, on a farm near Dannebrog to Gustav and Dora (Becker) Lemburg. He grew up in Dannebrog and attended District 16 School until 1942, when they moved to Grand Island.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army on Oct. 17, 1946, and served during World War II. He was honorably discharged on Oct. 17, 1949.
The couple was married
on Feb. 18, 1951, in Ravenna. They lived in Cheyenne, Wyo., for a short while and then returned to Nebraska. Mrs. Lemburg worked for Omaha Cold Storage in Ravenna and at the Gibbon Turkey Plant. They later moved to Cairo, where the couple ran Cairo Bowl for many years. Mrs. Lemburg also candled eggs. Mr. Lemburg first worked for the sugar beet factory and then worked for Supersweet Feeds for more than 32 years.
They were members of Christ Lutheran Church in Cairo, where Mr. Lemburg was very active. They were also members of the Eagles Club. Mr. Lemburg was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and National Rifle Association.
Mrs. Lemburg enjoyed bingo, reading, sewing and bowling. Mr. Lemburg enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and, in his youth, swimming.
Survivors of the couple include a son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Stephanie Lemburg of Giltner; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Delphine and Michael Ciemnoczolowski and Doreen Lemburg, all of Kearney, and Sharon and Dan Lindell of Cairo; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Lemburg was also survived by three brothers, Lyle "Skeeter" Smith of Hazard, Mervin Lemburg of Mesa, Ariz., and Lowen Lemburg of Lincoln; and four sisters, Shirley Palasek of Fullerton, Arlone Breiner of Grand Island, Elaine Grim of Dannebrog and Lois Drake of New Johnsonville, Tenn.
Mr. Lemburg was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Mrs. Lemburg was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Smith.
Robert Moss
CAIRO -- Robert L. Moss, 63, of Cairo died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at his home west of Cairo.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church in Cairo. The Rev. Glen Keylon will officiate. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant cemetery south of Cairo.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the church or Cairo Quick Response Team.

Mr. Moss was born March 1, 1938, at Wood River to John and Viola (Rickert) Moss. He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church north of Shelton and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Grace Lutheran Church in Wood River. He graduated from Wood River High School in 1955.
He married
Patricia Hendrickson on Sept. 20, 1959, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grand Island. The couple lived in Wood River after his marriage. They moved to a farm west of Cairo in 1962.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Cairo.
Survivors include his wife; two sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Loree of Aurora and Doran and Dorothy of Cairo; four grandchildren; his mother of Grand Island; a brother, LaVerne Moss of Wood River; and a sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Wayne Meyer of Cairo.
He was preceded in death by his father and two grandchildren.
Harold Roach
ST. PAUL -- To Harold I. Roach, 92, of St. Paul died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001, at Heritage Living Center in St. Paul.
Services are pending at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.
Joseph Stainbrook Sr.
DULUTH, Minn. -- Joseph Stainbrook Sr., 66, of Duluth, Minn., died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001, after battling liver cancer.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Fredenberg Community Chapel in Duluth, Minn.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Williams-Lobermeier Funeral Home in Duluth, Minn., and one hour prior to service Wednesday at the chapel.
Memorials are suggested to the chapel.
Mr. Stainbrook was born Aug. 19, 1935, at Kansas City, Mo., to Joseph and Irene (Frank) Stainbrook. He was a 1954 graduate of Mansfield (Ohio) High School, where he was active in many sports. He was honorably discharged from both the U.S. Air Force, being based at Duluth Air Base and foreign service in Okinawa, Japan, and from the U.S. Navy with Atlantic Fleet Antisubmarine Squadron 22 aboard the USS Essex as a crew member on the S-2E Tracker aircraft. He had retired as Branch Manager for Locmis Armored Car in Duluth, Minn.
He attended Fredenberg Community Chapel and was a volunteer server for the Community Thanksgiving in Duluth, Minn. He enjoyed the outdoors and traveled annually to Yellowstone National Park.
Survivors include his wife, Maryls; three sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph Jr. of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Michael and Patty of Duluth, Minn., and Quint and Kris of Esko, Minn.; a stepson, Jason Turner of Inver Grove Heights, Minn.; two daughters and son-in-law, Tami and Fred Sylvester of Hermantown, Minn., and Stephanie Lund of Lake Elmo, Minn.; a stepdaughter, Kristine Matheus of St. Paul, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Alan and Huyan Kelley of Omaha, Pat and Janiece Kelley of North Platte and Charles and Connie Kelley of Alliance; a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Charles Mahoney of Omaha; and his mother and stepfather, Irene and Clifford Kelley of Alamo, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Stainbrook.
Randy Jeppesen
Randall "Randy" L. Jeppesen, 49, of Grand Island died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at his home due to illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Kleine Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Bill Forbes will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Hospice Association.
Mr. Jeppesen was born July 20, 1952, at Arnold to Kenneth and Darlene (Jensen) Jeppesen. As a young boy he moved to Hastings and graduated from Hastings Senior High School in 1970. He attended the University of Oklahoma at Norman, Okla., graduating in 1976 with a degree in pharmacy. He worked at Duncan, Okla., for three years and then moved back to Nebraska where he lived and worked in Lexington for a year. He then moved to Grand Island where he worked as a pharmacist for Allen's Pharmacy and was the pharmacy manager for the Nebraska Veteran's Home for the last 16 years
He was a member of the Christian faith and a pharmacy fraternity. He enjoyed motorcycles, boating, skiing, mountains, music and being with his family.
Survivors include his parents of Grand Island and a sister and brother-in-law, Jodene "Jody" and Kenneth Stoks of Phoenix, Ariz.
George Martin
George W. Martin, 85, of Grand Island, founder of O.P. Skaggs, now know as Skagway Discount Department Stores, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, at his home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. Ray Schroeder will officiate. Burial will be in Grand Island Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.
Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
Anne Zebert
Anne E. Zebert, 48, of Grand Island died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at her home due to illness.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at United Congregational Church. The Rev. Lonnie Logan will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kleine Funeral Home chapel.
Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society for Research or Crane Meadows Nature Center.
Mrs. Zebert was born April 29, 1953, at Burwell to Keith and Dorothy (Duncan) DeLashmutt. She received her education in Burwell.
She married
Dale Zebert on Dec. 5, 1969, in Grand Island. The couple lived in Grand Island.
She was a member of the Christian faith. She enjoyed reading, camping, watching cranes and deer, flowers and plants and being with her family and cat.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca "Becky" and Mark Rupprecht of Lincoln; three sons and a daughter-in-law, John and Kristi Zebert of Grand Island, Brian Zebert who is stationed with the U.S. Army Infantry in Vilseck, Germany, and Daniel Zebert of Grand Island; four grandchildren; two sisters, Martha Thorman of North Carolina and Donna Tuning of Goldendale, Wash.; and a special friend, Jodi Zebert of Grand Island.
