Charles Peterson
LOUP CITY -- Charles W. Peterson, 91, of Loup City died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Services are pending at Peters Funeral Home in Loup City.
Cheryl Bleach
40, Nurse
PARADISE VALLEY, Ariz. -- Cheryl A. Bleach, 40, of Paradise Valley, Ariz., died Dec. 11, 2001, at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix of a massive heart attack.
Services were held at Mayo Chapel and room 212 at the hospital. Her body was donated for research and later cremated.
Memorials are suggested to her daughters' education trust fund at Bank of America.
Mrs. Bleach was born May 6, 1961, at Valley County Hospital in Ord to Duane and Marilyn (Meyer) Mattley. She lived on the family farm one mile west of Burwell. She attended District 15 School and graduated from Burwell High School in 1979. She was involved in school activities, Brownies and 4-H. She was a member of First Christian Church.
In September 1983, she graduated as a licensed practical nurse from Southeast Community College in Lincoln. She graduated from Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln as a registered nurse in 1988. She worked as a nurse for 12 years in many hospitals, three of which she traveled across the U.S. with her husband.
She married
Tim Bleach on Aug. 19, 1989, at Fairmont Methodist Church, honeymooning in Chicago at a Cubs game and then to Salt Lake City, Utah, for their first stint as traveling nurses. The couple settled in Phoenix in 1993, where they worked at Mayo Clinic Hospital.
She was an avid Cubs and Huskers fan and attended many games.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Sara and Emilee, both at home; her parents; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Don Janitscheck of Pleasanton and LaRee and Dan Olson of Lincoln; and a brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Anne Mattley of Houston.
Madalyn McNeff
PITTSBURGH -- Madalyn G. McNeff, 53, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Fullerton, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at her home of natural causes.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Palmer Funeral Home in Fullerton. The Rev. Valjean Warman will officiate. Burial will be in the Fullerton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ms. McNeff was born Dec. 10, 1948, at Central City to Vivian and Veva (Weeks) McNeff. She was baptized at the North Start EUB Church. She attended District 50 School and graduated from Fullerton High School in 1966. She attended the University of Nebraska - Lincoln for two years.
She moved to California and attended the University of California at Berkley and was employed at the Bell Telephone Company.
She married
Tim Scoffield. They later divorced.
In 1972 she moved to Pittsburgh and attended the University of Pittsburgh. She earned her bachelor's degree in English writing and her master's degree in journalism and English education.
She had been employed at the English Language Institute at the University of Pittsburgh teaching English as a second language. She was tutoring foreign students.
She married
Wade Horwood of Pittsburgh.
Ms. McNeff was an artist specializing in enameling and wildflower pictures and arrangements. She had a knowledge and appreciation of horticulture. She supported the Nature Conservancy and National Wildlife Federation.
In 2000, she spent several months in Nebraska caring for her ailing mother and returned to Pittsburgh after her mother's death.
Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and John Jensen of Columbia, Mo.; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Arla McNeff of Burnsville, Minn., Arthur Ray and Joyce McNeff, Ronald and Nelva McNeff, and Robert and Karen McNeff, all of Palmer, and Marvin and Nancy McNeff of St. Paul, Minn.; special friends Marilyn Meerkatz of Lincoln and Billie Trach of Pittsburgh; and her former husband, Wade Horwood of Pittsburgh.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister, Mary Elizabeth.
Agnes Browne
Agnes Browne, 84, of Grand Island died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, at Skilled Care Unit at St. Francis.
Services are pending with Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.
Ken Koziol
GENOA -- Kenneth L. Koziol, 56, of Genoa died on Monday, Dec. 10, 2001 at his home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Genoa. The Rev. Robert Nienaber will officiate. Burial will be in the Valley View Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday with a 7 p.m. wake service at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the family.

Mr. Koziol was born on Jan. 16, 1945 in St. Helens, Ore., to Leo J. and Frances M. (Egnoski) Koziol. He attended school in Genoa, graduating from Genoa High School in 1963. In 1965, he entered the United States Navy, serving in Vietnam. He stayed in the Navy until 1969. After leaving the Navy he lived in Dana Point, Calif., where he managed apartments. In 1989 he returned to Genoa. At the time of his death, he worked at the Lonestar Bar south of Columbus.
He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Genoa.
He enjoyed playing cards, pickle cards, gambling, gardening and helping his sister and other neighborhood friends.
Survivors include two sisters, Bonnie Taylor of Hastings and Cindy Darling of Genoa.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1988 and his mother in 1997.
Norman Reardon
ST. EDWARD -- Norman J. Reardon, 69, of St. Edward died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001, at Boone County Health Center in Albion after suffering an apparent heart attack at his home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist-Presbyterian Church in St. Edward. The Rev. Jim Novotny will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Edward Catholic cemetery with military rites conducted by Crosier American Legion Post 226.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Miller-Levander Funeral Home in St. Edward and after 7 p.m. at the church with a 7:30 p.m. wake service.
Mr. Reardon was born Feb. 14, 1932, at St. Edward to Bernard and Florence (Hoadley) Reardon. He attended country school east of St. Edward and graduated from St. Edward Public High School in 1949. He entered the U.S. Army in September 1952 and served in Korea. He was honorably discharged in September 1954.
He married
Mary L. Johnson on Aug. 11, 1952, in Albion. The couple lived in St. Edward where he worked as a farmer, a mechanic and part-time mail carrier.
Survivors include his wife; three sons and a daughter-in-law, John and Susan of St. Edward, Jerry of Albion and Mike of Columbus; five daughters and sons-in-law, Rosie and Mick Christensen of Omaha, Mary Jo and Joe Fischer of Edmond, Okla., Jane and Monty Olson of St. Edward, Cindy Abraham of Elkhorn and Annette Reardon of Lincoln; 27 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Tim and Nancy Reardon, and Tom and Deanna Reardon, all of St. Edward; and a sister and brother-in-law, Celine and Joe Klasson of Papillion.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dan and Bill.
Bill Sahlie
81, Beekeeper
ARCADIA -- Bill Sahlie, 81, of Arcadia died Monday, Dec. 10, 2001, at St. Elizabeth's Regional Medical Center in Lincoln.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church in Arcadia. The Rev. Richard Brian will officiate. His body will be cremated following the service.
Burial will be at a later date in the Arcadia City Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ord Memorial Chapel.
Memorials are suggested to the church and Arcadia Rescue Unit.
Mr. Sahlie was born Jan. 24, 1920, at Cloverport, Ky., to Chris and Tresa (Johnson) Sahlie. He was raised and educated in Cloverport, Ky. He was a beekeeper his entire life with the exception of working in a factory in Mishawaka, Ind., during the war.
He married
Laurel I. Leighton on Dec. 22, 1951, in Ord. The couple lived in Arcadia and had a winter home in Colmesneil, Texas. He had been a resident of Arcadia since 1948.
He was a member of United Methodist Church in Arcadia. He was past mayor of Arcadia and a past member of Arcadia Volunteer Fire Department. He also was a member of Sue Bee Honey Association and received the Life Long Achievement Award for 49 years of dedication and service from the association.
He enjoyed his bees and cats, gardening, bowling and flying.
Survivors include his wife; a son, James of Lufkin, Texas; three daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Leonard Cernik of Lincoln, Beckie and Steve Stec of Grand Island and Teresa and Fred Nelson of Oxford, Mich.; eight grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; and a sister, Pauline Dowell of Hardinsburg, Ky.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Allen Sahlie and two sisters, Irene Seibert and Mamie Larson.
