Nellie Forbes
FULLERTON -- Nellie E. Forbes, 92, of Fullerton died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, at the Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church in Fullerton. Rev. Clarence McConkey will officiate. Burial will be in the Fullerton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Palmer Funeral Home in Fullerton. Palmer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Clara Janulewicz
LOUP CITY -- Clara A. Janulewicz, 99, of Loup City died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at Rose Lane Nursing Home in Loup City.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Josaphat's Catholic Church in Loup City. The Rev. A. Urban will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery in Loup City.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday at Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City with a rosary at 4 p.m., and from 6 to 9 p.m. at the church with a vigil at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Julia Vandenberg
SPALDING -- Julia Ann Vandenberg, 71, of Spalding died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at Boone County Health Center in Albion.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Spalding. The Rev. Joe Hannappel will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Dolce Scheef Mortuary in Spalding with rosaries at 4:30 and 7 p.m.
Mrs. Vandenberg was born June 1, 1930, at a farm house in Spalding to Frank and Julia (Lomme) Seaman. Her mother died at her birth and she was raised by Joe and Elizabeth Seaman at about 2 months old. She attended grade school at the Slucco County School and graduated from Spalding Academy in 1948.
She married
L. Joe Vandenberg on June 29, 1953, in Spalding. The couple only daughter, Marian Ann, was killed in an accident Feb. 2, 1971. She was secretary at Spalding Public School from 1971 to 1973 and a teacher aide for Spalding Head Start from 1978 to 1996. Her husband died Feb. 9, 1980.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Cletus and Sue Seaman of Loveland, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, and a brother, Edward Seaman.
Florence Nuttelman
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Florence E. Nuttelman, 88, of Portland, Ore., died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Gresham, Ore. The Rev. Timothy A. Prince will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the church.
Miss Nuttelman was born Sept. 17, 1913, at Surprise to Charles J. and Clara E. (Neujahr) Nuttelman. She was baptized in Garrison. She attended District 47 School near Surprise. She then stayed at home and helped with house and field work on the family farms near Gresham and Surprise. In 1955, she moved to Portland, Ore., where she was a seamstress for Jansen Clothing. She retired in the Portland area where she did volunteer work at Trinity Lutheran Church.
She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Gresham, Ore., where she was active in the choir and taught Sunday school. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crafts, swimming and traveling.
Survivors include two brothers and sister-in-law, Harold Nuttelman of Gresham, Ore., and Roy and Cecile Nuttelman of Stromsburg; and a sister, Eleanor Kisor of Portland, Ore.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Floyd, William and Donald; and two sister, Hilda Peters and Esther Kopke.
Kenneth Bolin
ALBION -- Kenneth G. Bolin, 80, of Albion died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, at the Boone County Health Center in Albion.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Albion. The Rev. Terry Otto will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery in Albion with military rites conducted by American Legion Post No. 162 and V.F.W. Post No. 736 of Albion.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Irene Bly
COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa -- Irene A. Bly, 84, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001, at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Meyer-Woodring Chapel in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The Rev. Kim Crummer will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery.
Visitation was Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
Mrs. Bly was born Feb. 15, 1917, at Prosser to LeRoy and Anna (Theen) Otto. She was a high school graduate. She had lived in Council Bluffs since 1956.
She married
Harry L. Bly in 1979. She was a self-employed caretaker.
She was a member of Dodge Memorial Congregational Church in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Survivors include six daughters, Geraldine Bly, Alyce Vickers and Phyllis Pabon, all of Council Bluffs, Leona Belles of Orangeville, Pa., JoAnn McDonald of Rockville and Beverly Eckies of Grandview, Mo.; several grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Clarence Otto of Wood River; and two sisters, Delores Reeder and Darlene Neighbors, both of Grand Island.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Linda Davis
WATERVILLE, Maine -- Linda N. Davis, 54, of Waterville, Maine, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001, at Inland Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Redington Funeral Home in Waterville, Maine.
Mrs. Davis was born Nov. 25, 1946, in Kansas City, Mo., to Frank and Vivian Nesbitt. She was raised in St. Joseph, Mo.
She married
Harold V. Davis on May 20, 1967. Her first career was as an X-ray technician at a variety of hospitals in Missouri, Illinois and Wisconsin.
The couple eventually moved to Grand Island, where Mrs. Davis worked as a food and beverage director. They divorced in 1988, and she raised her son.
She did extensive work with the Nebraska Vietnam Veterans Reunion and was presented with the honorary rank of admiral in the U.S. Navy. She also received the rank of colonel in the U.S. Army. She was one of the first Lady Lion's Club members in Nebraska and was honored for her work with the National Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
She opened her own restaurant, Roosevelt's, in 1988, and relocated to Door County, Wis., in 1990.
Survivors include her sister, Lee Lindsey of Cookeville, Tenn., her son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Monica Davis of Waterville, Maine, and two grandchildren.
Mary Jo Madison
BIG ARM, Mont. -- Mary Jo Madison, 75, of Big Arm, Mont., died on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, at St. Patrick Hospital.
There will be no services.
Garden City Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Madison was born July 24, 1926, in Grand Island to Harley and Helen Simpson.
She married
Harold Madison and became a homemaker. She was active in the American Heart Association and other charities.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Ron Madison of Flemington, N.J.; and two brothers, Richard Simpson of Grand Island and Lyle Simpson of Ottumwa, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Lee Madison.
