Helen Shriner
ST. PAUL -- Helen E. Shriner, 74, of St. Paul died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. The Rev. Karen Kennerly will officiate. Burial will in Elmwood cemetery in St. Paul.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Mrs. Shriner was born Jan. 3, 1927, at Warsaw, Neb., to Joseph and Casimira (Gorecki) Kramer. She moved at an early age with her family to a farm near St. Paul. She grew up in the St. Paul area and received her education there.
Mrs. Shriner worked as a cook for the former Howard Hotel and then at Jacob's Cafe. She later worked at the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant in Grand Island.
She married
Glenn "Buck" Shriner on Sept. 6, 1947, in Rock County, Minn. Mr. Shriner work in the dam and heavy construction industry, which caused them to travel throughout the Mid-Plains states. Mrs. Shriner was a homemaker.
The couple moved to Grand Island and then to a home east of St. Paul, where they lived the remainder of their married
lives. Mr. Shriner died Dec. 25, 2000. Mrs. Shriner continued to live east of St. Paul.
Mrs. Shriner enjoyed bird watching, gardening, doing puzzles, playing card games and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons, Glenn Jr. of St. Paul, Kevin of Grand Island and Gary of Marquette; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Judy and Boyd Cox and Barbara and Jerry Powers, all of Grand Island, and Sharon Schirm of St. Paul; 24 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marie Gruber of Grand Island; and two brothers, John Kramer of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Joseph Kramer Jr. of Hot Springs., S.D.
Other than her husband, she was preceded in death a daughter, Susan Bailey; a grandson; an infant brother, Frank; a brother, Harry; and an infant sister, Martha.
Roy Dugan
OAK -- Roy D. Dugan, 48, of Oak died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, in a truck collision at Grand Island.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. The Rev. Ray Kosmicki will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery in St. Paul.
Visitation was Friday at Williams Funeral Home in Superior. A rosary was recited by the Rev. Philip Luther.
Mr. Dugan was born Jan. 10, 1953, at St. Paul to Raymond "Rusty" and DeLoris Dugan. He graduated from Elba High School.
He married
Sandra Fenton on May 31, 1975. They later divorced. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service from 1974 to 1984. He later started his own mail contracting company. He served as Nuckolls County commissioner from January 2001 until the time of his death.
Survivors include his parents of Greeley; five daughters and two sons-in-law, Jill Siegle of Nelson, Jennifer Kelly of Arlington, Va., Deanna Dugan of San Diego, Christa and Matthew Weldon of Minnetonka, Minn., and Leah Dugan and Brandeis Jenson, both of Grand Island; a granddaughter; five brothers, Tom, Tim and Donny Dugan, all of Greeley, Pat Dugan of Yuma, Colo., and Terry Dugan of Omaha; twin sister, Joy Dugan of Yuma, Colo.; and sister, Doloris A. Dugan of Lincoln.
'Tom' Pittman
TOPEKA, Kan. -- Meredith Thomas "Tom" Pittman, 81, of Topeka, Kan., formerly of Scranton, Kan., died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2001, at a Topeka care facility.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Church in Scranton, Kan. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Gardens cemetery in Topeka, Kan.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the church with a parish rosary at 3:30 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus rosary at 4 p.m.
Carey Funeral Home in Burlingame is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Pittman was born June 6, 1920, at La Crosse, Wis., to Thomas W. and Lucille (Spears) Pittman. He grew up in La Crosse and graduated from Central High School at La Crosse. He worked as a lifeguard on the Mississippi River at La Crosse and sold coffee at the Big Store on the Loop at Chicago, Ill.
He joined the U.S. Navy during World War II where he was a swimming instructor for Navy Aviation Cadets at Purdue University. He also served overseas where he saw duty in the Pacific Theater. He was a Special Service officer for the Veterans Administration and worked at Hines Hospital in Chicago and at veterans hospitals in Iron Mountain, Mich., Miles City, Mont., and Grand Island. He retired as chief admissions director from the Veterans Administration Hospital in Topeka in 1976.
He married
Charlotte Goodin on Feb. 9, 1990, in Topeka, Kan.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Scranton, Kan., the Knights of Columbus in Osage City, Kan., Capitol Post No. 1 of the American Legion in Topeka, Cardinal Chapter of the Good Sam Camping Group and the Osage City Chapter No. 2099 of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ronald Pittman of St. Paul and Jerry Pittman of Cottonwood Falls, Kan.; a daughter, Cathy Wells of Mayetta, Kan.; three stepsons, Troy Schuknecht and Tim Schuknecht of Topeka, Kan., and Todd Schuknecht of Burlington, Kan.; two brothers, John and Gilbert Pittman, both of Wichita, Kan.; four grandchildren; 2 stepgrandchildren; and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Jarzemski and a brother, Elwin Pittman.
Richard Butt
CENTRAL CITY -- Richard E. Butt, 66, of Central City died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2001, at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wagner Funeral Home in Central City. The Revs. Glen Kline and Allen Houston will officiate. Burial will be in the Central City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the family and the Central City Senior Center.
Mr. Butt was born on Aug. 4, 1935, in Central City to Fritz and Pauline (Donchesky) Butt. He grew up in the Central City area and attended District 50 School and Central City High School.
He married
Alice J. Wagner on June 7, 1953, in Archer. The couple lived in the Central City area and farmed until 1975. He then retired due to health problems. He drove a semi truck for Butch Thompson and worked on his cattle ranch until 1977. He was then educated in alcohol and drug counseling. He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and helped many people. In 1989, due to severe health problems, he was forced to retire.
He enjoyed his children and grandchildren, watching the Dallas Cowboys and deer and pheasant hunting. He enjoyed bowling and was on several leagues through last May.
Survivors include his wife; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Richard and Sharon Butt of Imperial, Rick and Wendee Butt of Central City and Russ Butt of Grand Island; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Victoria Troestle of Cheyenne, Wyo., Bonnie and Maryl Hanson of Fullerton, Susan Butt of Austin, Texas, Teena and Nick Paup of Central City and Connie and Jim Holmes of Grand Island; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dee and Kenneth Luebbe and Nadine and Dale Hilderbrand, all of Central City; one brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Marilyn Butt of Central City; 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Ernestine Grigsby.
'Mike' Campbell
ORD -- David "Mike" Campbell, 36, of Ord, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2001, at BryanLGH in Lincoln.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Bethel Baptist Church in Ord. The Revs. John Campbell and Rob Stiner will officiate. Burial will be in Cottonwood cemetery in Burwell.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ord Memorial Chapel.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Neva Robinson
ALBION -- Neva Robinson, 95, of Albion died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001, at Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center in Albion.
Services are pending with Levander Funeral Home in Albion.
