Louie Johnson
Louie N. Johnson, 79, of Grand Island died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Kleine Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Karohl officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Further visitation will be from 8 a.m. to service time Friday.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
George Harvey
ST. PAUL -- George Harvey, 64, of St. Paul died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at the Howard County Hospital in St. Paul.
Services are pending at Jacobsen Funeral Home in St. Paul.
JoAnn Holmes
GIBBON -- JoAnn M. Holmes, 38, of Gibbon died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at King of Kings Lutheran Church in Omaha with the Rev. Roger Thiemer officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn cemetery in Omaha.
Visitation will be on Thursday at Roeder Mortuary in Omaha.
Memorials are suggested to the Gibbon Emergency Unit or Gibbon Library Fund.
Godberson Mortuary of Gibbon is in charge of local arrangements.
Ms. Holmes was born on July 24, 1961, in West Point to Gaylerd and Armeda (Thies) Wascher. She grew up and attended school there until the eighth grade. The family moved to York, where she graduated from high school in 1979.
In 1985, she moved to Omaha, where she was an accountant for ConAgra. She graduated from Bellevue Community College with a bachelor of science degree during that time.
She moved to Gibbon in 1996.
She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Kearney.
Survivors include one son, Caleb at home; her parents, of Omaha; two sisters, Diane (Mrs. Randy) Volquardsen of Gibbon and Marian Wascher of Omaha; and her grandmother, Neola Wascher of Beemer.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents and paternal grandfather.
Elaine Mostek
ST. PAUL -- Elaine M. Mostek, 70, of St. Paul died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, at her home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. The Rev. Michael McDermott will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery at St. Paul.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church with a 7 p.m. vigil service and memorial video.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.

Mrs. Mostek was born on Sept. 16, 1929, on the family farm southwest of Ashton to Peter and Philomena (Smedra) Jarzynka. She attended Sherman County District 26 and St. Francis Parochial schools. She graduated from Loup City High School in 1947 and taught in Sherman County rural schools for the next three years.
She married
Leonard R. Mostek on Nov. 22, 1949, in Ashton. The couple lived in St. Paul throughout their marriage.
For many years, she assisted her husband with his land construction business.
She enjoyed flowers, soap operas and football, especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Denver Broncos.
She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and served as treasurer of its Altar Society for 22 years. She was also a member of the St. Paul Country Club and Nebraska Land Improvement Contractors.
Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Linda (Mrs. Joe) Hopper of Kansas City, Mo., Pam (Mrs. Ralph) Hammack of Lincoln, Cindy (Mrs. Todd) Peters) of St. Paul and Lisa (Mrs. Ted) Bahensky of Nebraska City; three sons, Larry Mostek of St. Paul and Terry and Steve Mostek, both of Grand Island; 13 grandchildren; four brothers, Alvin Jarzynka of Ashton, Virgil Jarzynka of Omaha and Don and Tom Jarzynka, both of Grand Island; and four sisters, Isabelle (Mrs. Leo) Szatko of Clarks, Alice Ann (Mrs. Don) Lonowski of Grand Island and Geraldine (Mrs. Dennis) Rewolinski and Lois (Mrs. Joel) Reynolds, both of Omaha.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Deloris Jarzynka; and one brother, Anzel Jarzynka.
Murl Beller
BENKELMAN -- Murl R. Beller, 76, of Benkelman died Sunday, Sept. 19, 1999, at the Dundy County Hospital in Benkelman.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Horner-Lieske-Horner Mortuary in Kearney. The Rev. Ford Shenk will officiate. Burial will be in the Litchfield cemetery with military rites at the grave by the Litchfield American Legion Post.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday and until service time Friday at the mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mr. Beller was born June 29, 1923, in Sumner to Peter K. and Grayce Mae (Watson) Beller. He graduated from Litchfield High School in 1941 and moved to Idaho where he worked in a fruit farm.
He later was employed by United Airlines until he entered the service. He served in the U.S. Army from September 1943 to May 31, 1945. He returned to Kearney and attended Kearney State College, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in education in 1949.
He earned his Masters Degree from Greeley, Colo. in 1957, and later his Specialist Degree in Education from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. He was principal and coach at Upland High School for 4 years and Litchfield High School for 4 years. He had lived at Benkelman for the past 23 years.
He was a member of the Lions Club, Oddfellows, American Legion and V.F.W. and D.A.V. in Benkelman. He was also a member of the National Education Association, Nebraska State Education Association, and local education associations.
He attended the Trinity Baptist church in Benkelman and served as the church treasurer for 10 years. His hobbies included hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Robyn A. Dalton of Fremont and Joy Beller of Exeter, N.H.; five grandchildren; and one brother, Norman of Franklin, N.C.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Robert Henk
OMAHA -- Robert L. Henk, 70, of Omaha, died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, at Bergan Mercy Medical Center in Omaha.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Geralds Church at 96th and Q in Omaha. The Rev. Michael Schmitz will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery with full military honors by Benson VFW No. 2503.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Heafey-Heafey-Hoffman-Dworak and Cutler.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mr. Henk was born May 15, 1929, at Tobias to Fredrich W. and Vera E. (Wilson) Henk.
He was a cost accountant for U.S. West. He had served in the U.S. Navy.
He married
Carol A. Waldrop.
Survivors include his wife; six sons, Henry of Bellevue, William of Seward, Mark of Grand Island, Michael of Victoria, Texas and John and Joseph of Omaha; three daughters, Ann (Mrs. John) Sorensen of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Janice (Mrs. Clark) Kauffman of Davenport, Iowa and Nancy (Mrs. Dale) Ocken of Omaha; two stepchildren, David Ellis of Lincoln and Susan (Mrs. Tim) Richards of Oak Harbor, Wash.; 26 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Duane Henk of Central City; and three sisters, Norma Husmann of Chapman, Lois Mason of Las Vegas, Nev. and Cheryl Tscishart of Dayton, Ohio.
