Freddie Vieth
ASHTON -- Freddie S. Vieth, 67, of Ashton died Monday, July 12, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City. The Rev. David Manning will officiate. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Prairie Home cemetery in Diller.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mr. Vieth was born March 1, 1932, at Jansen to Ira and Manila (Roll) Vieth. He grew up and attended grade school in Jansen and high school in Fairbury.
He entered the U.S. Navy on Dec. 29, 1950, and served in the Korean War on the U.S.S. Limon K. Swenson.
On Nov. 14, 1954, he married
Cena E. Gebhard in Diller. He worked as a grain elevator manager most of his life and retired in 1994.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, gardening and animals.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Valerie Polley of Loup City, Peggy Vieth of Ashton and Teresa Vieth of Loup City; three sons, Tom Vieth of Lincoln and Tracy Vieth and Scott Vieth, both of Ashton; one sister, Edna Whisenhunt of Foreman, Ark.; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Henrietta Adams.
Andrew Molczyk
TOLLESON, Ariz. -- Andrew P. Molczyk, 71, of Tolleson, Ariz., formerly of Spalding, died Friday, July 9, 1999, at Tolleson, Ariz.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Spalding. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Dolce Scheef Mortuary in Spalding with a 7 p.m. rosary.
Harold Gravengaard
Harold P. Gravengaard, 77, of Grand Island died Monday, June 21, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Kleine Funeral Home. The Rev. Anna Terman-White will officiate. Burial will be in Kronberg St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Mr. Gravengaard was born on Oct. 25, 1921, in rural Hamilton County. He was educated in Hamilton County and graduated from Marquette High School. He farmed on the home place before moving to California, where he worked at Safeway as a meat cutter.
He entered the U.S. Navy in 1943 and served during World War II on Guam and Wake Island. He was discharged in 1948 and then returned to the family farm until 1957.
He married
Dorothy June Munn on Dec. 28, 1957, at Central City. They lived in Central City. He worked at the Central Bank in Central City and later managed the lumber company in Marquette. The family moved to Grand Island in 1973, and he worked for New Holland until retiring in 1985.
He was a nine-year volunteer at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He enjoyed camping throughout the United States, bowling, dancing, pheasant hunting and fishing.
He was a member of the Tehama Shriners Temple of Hastings and served as Master Mason of the Polk Lodge. He was also a member of Arbor Chapter 200 Order of the Eastern Star in Central City. He belonged to the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Platt-Duetsche Society, the Elks Lodge and the American Legion, all of Grand Island.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Dana Little of Paxton; one daughter, Karen (Mrs. Bryan) Armatys of Grand Island; two granddaughters; and one sister, Gladys Eatherly of Laguna Niguel, Calif.
Edna Reaves
Edna Reaves, 90, of Grand Island died Tuesday, June 22, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Gollaher Chapel of Trinity United Methodist Church. The Rev. Jim Keyser will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home.

Mrs. Reaves was born May 11, 1909, to James and Rose (Johnson) Kingdon at Beadle County, S.D. She grew up and received her education in Beadle County, graduating from Hitchcock County High School in South Dakota. She received her bachelors degree at Huron College.
On Jan. 3, 1937, she married
Harold E. Reaves at Huron, S.D. The couple moved to Grand Island where she began working for the State of Nebraska Department of Roads in 1943. She retired in 1973 after 30 years of service.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Altrusa and the Grand Island Woman's Club.
Survivors include two sisters, Alice Guenther of Glendale, Ariz. and Helen Ellwein of Minneapolis, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister.
Frank Gonsior
CENTRAL CITY -- Frank Gonsior, 71, of Central City died Thursday, June 24, 1999, at Litzenberg Memorial Hospital.
Services are pending with Solt Funeral Home in Central City.
Jim Pickrel
FULLERTON -- Jim Pickrel, 82, of Fullerton died Wednesday, June 23, 1999, at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Palmer Funeral Home in Fullerton. The Rev. Jim Howland will officiate. Burial will be in the Fullerton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Pickrel was born Jan. 28, 1917, to Bertha Harrison in Mosheim, Tennessee. At two years of age he and his family moved to Fullerton.
He attended country school in Merrick and Nance Counties.
On July 15, 1939, he married
Dereath Orender in Fullerton. They lived in Fullerton.
He worked at Bill Crabtree Farms in Fullerton for 21 years. He later worked at the Pullen Ranch in Merrick County and then for 14 years at the Fullerton Public School as a custodian until his retirement in 1979.
He enjoyed woodworking.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Roger of Fullerton; three daughters, Betty (Mrs. Richard) Silverberg of Genoa, Jayme (Mrs. Edward) Grella of Beatrice and Judith (Mrs. Jack) Bruna of Wayne; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; four sisters, Emma Stromberg of Polk, Louise Pickrel of Central City, Phyllis Hilderbrand of David City and Norma Pauley of York; and one brother, William of Clarks.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Katie Brown, an infant brother, Paul; an infant grandson; and an infant great-grandson.
Harold Graczyk
LUTZ, Fla. -- Harold C. Graczyk, 82, of Lutz, Fla., formerly of St. Libory, died Thursday, June 24, 1999, at the University Community Hospital in Tampa, Fla.
Services are pending with Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul.
Donna Shineman
SAVANNAH, Mo. -- Donna Jean (Thornton) Shineman, 45, of Savannah, Mo., formerly of Grand Island, died Tuesday, June 22, 1999, in an Omaha hospital.
Services will be at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Savannah. The Rev. Joseph Hughes will officiate. Burial will be in Bennett Lane cemetery at Savannah.
Breit and Hawkins Funeral Home of Savannah is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the Donna Shineman Memorial.
Mrs. Shineman was born Jan. 6, 1954, in Cameron, Mo. She had lived in Cameron, Stewartsville, Clarksdale and St. Joseph, Mo., prior to 1971. She had lived in Grand Island from 1971 to 1981. She had lived in Savannah since 1981.
Mrs. Shineman had attended Cameron, Clarksdale and Stewartsville, Mo., schools. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and Altar Society of Savannah.
She was formerly employed in Savannah, Mo. with LaVerna Heights Nursing Home, Shop and Hop Convenience Stores and the Ferris Wheel Restaurant and in St. Joseph, Mo. with Cracker Barrel Restaurant.
She married
Dec. 5, 1984, in Savannah to Don Shineman.
Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Angela M. Weber, Princeton, Mo.; a sister, Marlene "Bobbie" Thornton, Savannah; five brothers, Dean Thornton, Roger Thornton and James Thornton, all of Grand Island, Larry Thornton of Cameron, Mo. and Richard Thornton of Beatrice; her mother, Katherine D. Filley of Grand Island; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.
