Norman T. Hayman, 83, of Grand Island, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at the V.A. Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System of Grand Island.
Services are pending with the Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home.
Jesus Quintana
Jesus Quintana, 98, of Park Place Nursing Center, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002 at the St. Francis Medical Center.

Norma Steen, 93, of Grand Island, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002 at the Tiffany Square Center in Grand Island.

Harold Vanduvall
97, Postal worker
Harold C. Vanduvall, 97, of Grand Island died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002 at the Nebraska Veterans Home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of the Nebraska Veterans Home in Grand Island. The Rev. Bill Forbes will officiate. Burial will be in the Nebraska Veterans Home Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour before service time. All Faiths Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the Nebraska Veterans Home.
Mr. Vanduvall was born on June, 1, 1904, in Damar, Kan., to Leonard and Jessie (Kirkley) Vanduvall. He attended grade school in Damar and graduated from high school in Colorado.
He married
Emma Scott in 1940. He entered the U.S. Army on July 25, 1942, serving during World War II. He was honorably discharged on Sept. 22, 1943. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service in Washington D.C. until his retirement. He then moved to Lincoln.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara of El Paso, Tex.; one son, Paul Vanduvall of Sacramento, Calif; one sister, Letha Napue of Bogue, Kan; and six grandchildren.
Hazel Butler
BROKEN BOW -- Hazel Butler, 88, of Broken Bow, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at the Custer Care Center in Broken Bow.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the mortuary.
Mamie Fancher
COMSTOCK -- Mamie Erikson Fancher, 97, of Comstock died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002 at Heritage Hall in Broken Bow.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Rhoad Funeral chapel in Sargent. The Rev. Don Schauda will officiate. Burial will be in Douglas Grove cemetery at Comstock.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to The Den at Comstock.

Blanche Hanson
83, School teacher
ALBION -- Blanche Arlene Hanson, 83, of Albion died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2002, at the Boone County Health Center in Albion.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Immanuel-Zion Lutheran Church in rural Albion. The Rev. Bruce Freeman will officiate. Burial will be in the South Branch cemetery in rural Albion.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion.
Mrs. Hanson was born April 16, 1918, in Albion to John C. and Christina R. (Nore) Tisthammer. She attended Boone County District 19 School and graduated from Albion High School in 1936. She attended Wayne State College and received a two-year degree in teaching.
She married
Harvey R. Hanson on June 24, 1941, in Albion. They lived in Omaha for two years during the war and moved back to Albion. She taught school at several rural schools in the area for 25 years.
She was a member of the Immanuel-Zion Lutheran Church and Faith Circle of rural Albion. She also was a member of the Sons of Norway, the Friendly Neighbor's Extension Club, Christian Women's Club, Bridge Clubs and the Neighborhood Birthday Club.
Survivors include one son, Paul Hanson of Stromsburg; one daughter, Gloria Halverson of Waterford, Wisc.; one sister, Stella Knutsen of Kimball; one brother, John C. Tisthammer of Albion; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one granddaughter; one son-in-law, Ron Halverson; and one brother-in-law, Marv Knutsen.
Mildred Peterson
SCOTIA -- Mildred V. Peterson, 99, of Scotia, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at the Howard County Community Hospital in St. Paul.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Scotia United Methodist Church. The Rev. Melanie Adams will officiate. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. in the Pibel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Ord Memorial Chapel.
Warren Telford
KEARNEY -- Warren H. Telford, 47, of rural Kearney died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at his home.
Services are pending with the Godberson Mortuary of Gibbon.
Ruth Tucker
AURORA -- Ruth Mabel Tucker, 82, of Aurora, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at Memorial Hospital in Aurora.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora. The Revs. Rick Prettyman and Aaron Juett, and Tom Lathen will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary.
Mrs. Tucker was born September 15, 1919, on a family farm southwest of Aurora to Ray Sherman and Margaret LaVonne (Lewis) Eckerson.
She grew up on the family farm. She graduated from Aurora High School in 1937. She received teaching training in high school and then taught at District 99 School south of Aurora for two years. She drove a school bus for Aurora Public Schools for 16 years and sold Stanley Home Products for 30 years.
She married
Leonard E. Tucker on December 29, 1939 at York. They lived on a farm south of Aurora. The couple celebrated their 62nd anniversary last year.
Mrs. Tucker was a member of the Pleasant View Bible Church. She was a 4-H leader for 20 years, did volunteer work at Rio Grande Bible Institute for 12 years and served as president of the Hospital Auxiliary for four years. She also was a member of the Nebraska Hikers and Campers Association, where she and her husband served as King and Queen of the Nebraska Chapter. They represented Nebraska at the nationals held in Florida.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy Ruth and Dwaine Friesen of Henderson, Shirley Marlene and Larry Wrightsman of York and Kathy Jo and Randy Veleba of Saronville; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles Kent and Laura Tucker Aurora; 10 grandchildren; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Erma Hines of Fort Morgan, Colo., Willa Martin of Anaheim, Calif., and Shirley A. and Alvin V. White of Groton, New York; and a sister-in-law, Gloria Eckerson of Aurora.
She was preceded in death by a son, Leonard Eugene Tucker and a brother, Garwyn Eckerson.
Catherine Fuller
NELIGH -- Catherine N. Fuller, 95, of Neligh died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at the Neligh Nursing Center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Christ in Neligh. The Revs. Troy Emley and Paul Dittmer will officiate. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, southwest of Clearwater.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Huffman's Funeral Home Snider Chapel in Clearwater.
Mrs. Fuller was born June 3, 1906, at a farm near Springfield to Harry and Catherine (Reynolds) Branen. Her family moved to a farm near Neligh in 1908, and she spent all of her life in that area.
She married
Marvin Fuller on Oct. 6, 1924, in Sioux City, Iowa. The couple lived at Orchard and Tilden. In 1937, the couple moved to the Fuller family farm southwest of Clearwater. She assisted with bookkeeping for the farm and for Fuller and Grubb Garage, where her husband was a partner.
Her husband died on May 29, 1989. Mrs. Fuller moved to the Neligh Nursing Center in 1998.
She was a member of the Clearwater Church of Christ, the Dorcas Society and won the Ak-Sar-Ben family farm award in 1996.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Donald D. and Carol Fuller of Grand Island; two daughters and sons-in-law, Doris F. and James Wiegand of Clearwater, and Marilyn A. and Stephen Horn of Oberlin, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Howard Branen of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and one sister, Clara Gurnsey of Bassett.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two grandchildren; three sisters, Frances Holmes, Lottie Hansen and Hazel Romig; and one brother, William Branen.
